Kewl vid as always. Ty mate. Small suggestion, cheap fix to ut out wind noise on video. Tape a bit of gauze over the mic hole on the camera. Not perfect but will make a +ve diff. Keep on rock'n Enoch. :-)
I really enjoy watching you and your students BUT please!!!!! get a better wind proof microphone! I know everything costs $$$ but would sure like to understand what you’re all saying
Glad to know she's gotten better, so thanks for the edit at the end of video. Also, sadly, if people can't understand y'all talking, (the wind really is very annoying) your viewership may drop. And I thought only TX has constant wind LoL The woody tongue was a new one for me.
For I like animals, love animal so much for am a farm country girl..... Watching your videos in action with great instructions to Ur student aspiring audience, video watching am enjoying it so much, it kinda a HUGE 'wowwwww, awesome, great vet doctor Ur!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Ur job profession sir!!!!
Make FOR SURE you give the sodium iodide IV. The old joke I've always heard since I was knee- high to a short sheep was that giving it any way other than IV was what made the cow jump over the moon. Recall the Mother Goose nursery rhyme, Hey Diddle Diddle...
I think it is in the description. It is a specific pathogen called Actinobacillis lignersii which paralyzes the tongue and hardens it. Luckily it responds really well to Sodium Iodide and Oxytetracycline!
Does penicillin work? I have that but no iodine and I think my little bull is starting to get this. He’s drooling a lot. And he’s been eating some stalky Lucerne hay. I also have meloxicam.
Contrary to what we see on TV, it's not particularly important in humans either. It does mean that the dosage isn't quite right, though, which has a bigger effect with the small doses, given to humans.
Why wouldn’t you give iv fluids she obviously can’t eat or drink. Waiting “days”for her tongue to go down to the point she can eat and drink seems harsh.
Doc, thank you for helping her. I hate to see any animal in pain and you are my hero.
Interesting case. Poor girl. Thanks for fixing her up doc!
Cow: "Thizth thuckthz."
This got me!

That’s the funniest comment I’ve seen in a while!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I didnt even know that was a 'thing'. So glad she came out of it. Another great video Enoch. 💜👍💜
We call it Timber Tongue here in Ireland! We also have a decease called blackleg which kills in a matter of a couple of days!
That tomgue looks SOOO PAINFULL . Its hard to see them suffer like that

Good job Knockers and girly helpers!!! Thanks for doing the update on her progress. Glad she's all good now. Cheers Ausgranny 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤶❤❤❤❤❤🐄🐂🔪
"Knockers" is funny. My family nic-name was E-yuck because our brother Tom, who was around 2, could not say Enoch.
I love watching you you are so nice to the animals and it was nice to tell us what happened to the poor cow.
Thank you for sharing this case and letting us know the outcome.

Put the subtitles on
@@lilacscentedfushias1852 I did that thinking it would help but it didn't

The woody tongue was a new one for me.
Lived on a cattle farm for over a decade, never saw a case of this.
Lived on one 65 years never saw this
Don't know what does it cause 😂
Not every disease is present in every country
@wildangel0229 not every disease is present in every country
Thanks for the update along with the treatment
I'm from Alliance, Nebraska; the Cattle Capital. I've heard of woody tongue but have never seen it. Cool! Glad it resolved so quickly.
Thanks for the update at the end!
I love watching these!
Long time no see! Glad to see you!
Thank you for your care and education for me

A lot better than painting the tongue with iodine!
Wow! Right in the jugular. Interesting to see that the treatment hasn't changed much since Mr. Herriot/Wight wrote his books.
If it ain’t broke.. :)
100,000! Congrats :)
You are the Best. Thank you ❤
I love your videos, but dear god the wind noise is aweful
Those smile at the beginning of the video...OMG!
Wow. This is a first. Who knew. Great to hear all fixed.. woo hoo..

Is she able to drink? Seems that would be a big concern down under.
Дякую вам друзі за допомогу тваринам.🎉❤
Good God! I never knew of such a thing!
Awesome job Doc !!!
Never heard of that. Interesting. Thanks for the update.😊
make your videos LONGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we want to see the results of your treatment
Appreciated the update at the end.
meloxicam? hey i know her!
Can confirm that stuff works wonders for Arthritis / joint pain!
Rock on guys...love from Brissie
Is it ALWAYS so windy in Australia? Love the videos but the wind is soooo annoying.
I didnt know they used meloxicam on cows! So cool!
Love your videos but the wind noise is awful.
I know! If I had some kind of muffler, I would donate it just so that I could hear all of the dialogue
Put a sock over the mike? That’ll fix it?
Appreciate the update at the end
Cool to see her tongue like that, happy for the update. 😃
Poor beast. Great summary at the end
Just a question here from Canada ❤, what is woody tongue?? Thank you 😊
I think it is in the description. It is a specific pathogen called Actinobacillis lignersii which paralyzes the tongue and hardens it. Luckily it responds really well to Sodium Iodide and Oxytetracycline!
@@EnochtheCowVet thank you!!! You are an awesome vet 😍😎
Thanos for the follow-up. I often wonder what happens to the cows you treat
Where can I get a halter like that??
You are super awesome 👌 great stuff 👍
Great video!
What is a woody tongue?
Does penicillin work? I have that but no iodine and I think my little bull is starting to get this. He’s drooling a lot. And he’s been eating some stalky Lucerne hay. I also have meloxicam.
See if you can get some sodium iodide, it is key. Penicillin won’t hurt though in the mean time. Cheers!
If it's not treated in time, could it occlude the airway?
I don’t believe so, but, and obviously, they struggle to eat. Cheers!
You are amazing!
How interesting!👍👍👍
Please what s the treatment??
he says it at the end of the video ( no wind), and it is in the description.
@@Goldenhawk583 thank you

Does air in the needle not matter with animals?

@@alistairclement4239 I have to give myself shots and they always stress that, I never thought it to be about the dosage. Thank you.
What did he say?
To bad you don't teach back here in the states...
When I first saw the title, I thought it was slang for an STD.
I don't mind the wind these people just like complaining
Poor cute must be dehydrated as well.
Why wouldn’t you give iv fluids she obviously can’t eat or drink. Waiting “days”for her tongue to go down to the point she can eat and drink seems harsh.
She can drink fine, the next day she was already much improved. We put her in a paddock on her own as well. She did well!
OMG, you are so good man.❤
I think the cat got her tongue.

Turn on closed caption. It helps 👍🐄
What the hell did she try to EAT?! Or could she have bitten it a good one?
Some oral trauma… could have been anything!

Line is unnecessary when you are skilled enough. Cheers!
