    As a hairstylist I completely appreciate how “excited” you were the whole time. I get super “excited” too. I have done a few of these and the way you described what you thinking the whole time mirrors my experience. Thank You for sharing this 💕

    I’m in the process of going from box browns/reds to my natural silver/gray. I’m taking steps to get there instead of one day. Bless your heart! I know that has to be so stressful! You do amazing work!

    I have learned so much from your videos. It’s not lost on me how honest you are about your doubts and fears. Your willingness to share your vulnerability is so endearing because, if we’re honest, we all feel that way more often than we like to admit. You rock. Thank you!

    My grandmother was a colorist in the 40s. Colorists had to keep their recipes distinct so no two ladies had the same hair color and they also had to keep secret who had dyed hair around town…most husbands never even knew if their wives had dyed hair.

    Several years ago i went to a hairdresser asking if my box dyed brown hair could be made grey as i was growing out my hair. I was there for seven hours, it cost me $500 and my hair was orange, they bleached my hair 5 times. Then they told me they were short staffed that day but they wete happy to take my money. I paid another hairdresser $200 to correct the colour. I ended up shaving my head. My hair turned to mush, so off it came.
    This lady is obviously a specialist and enjoys her job.

    Not a hairstylist, but your video had me from the beginning. I’m an old Henna fan and no help for me other than wait and wish hair time went faster than real time. I love that in this day and age you share your formulas. (I do have some K18 on the way, so excited about that! Now…what about that magic growth formula? Thanks for the video!

    So pretty! I don't have box dye, but color from "root taps" & bleached highlights. I wonder if that's harder to correct because my hair might have banding?

    I went to Paul Mitchell Beauty School. My hair had layers of box color as well as temp and semi colors from burgundy to black.
    My hair was bleached at 20 volumes for 20 mins. After a rinse deep condition, my hair was checked for strength and bleached again at 20 volumes for 15 mins. I was shampooed, conditioned deep conditioned, then toned. My gray hair is beautiful, and my roots match my ends. Alot of product brands were used, why? Did the $1500 include take home product to keep her hair healthy?
    Total time 3 hours, total cost $100.
    Charge what you can, and someone will pay the price. 😮

    Not a hair stylist and I don’t dye my hair, but this was so fun to watch! Is it easier to go gray on all natural hair? My grays are coming out and I don’t want to dye because I don’t want the damage nor do I want to deal with the maintenance. But I’ve been thinking about going fully gray at some point.

    • @natalieholcomb4046
      @natalieholcomb4046 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You would still have a grow out even if you got a gray transformation so I would not recommend doing anything to it and just letting them grow out if you are already fully natural! That’s the most seamless grow out 🤍

    Great work. I think more of the warmth on the ends would've been removed with a blue based grey than using silver (it's not strong enough to cancel out the yellow on it's own). Also, the"bond builder" in the Redken powder is just citric acid, not some fancy ingredient lol.

      @@kapee4235 you don’t seem to be a very nice person LOL I’m pretty bright, I’m a colour correction specialist myself! All I’m saying is she already called out her own mistake, you pretty much took what she said and put it in the comments LOL anyway BYE👋🏼

    • @kapee4235
      @kapee4235 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@stephanieshankaran09 And I have experience helping clients match their grey roots to their ends. Not a correction specialist but definitely done this a few times. And as you even stated, she said her mistake was using too much clear- but my comment was that even without the clear, silver alone isn't strong enough to cancel out the yellow since it lacks a strong blue or purple undertone, and it'll just turn the hair beigeish grey.
      The not too bright part was rude and I will admit that (was upset about something else, sorry about that). But I wasn't telling her how to do her job, just giving a few tips from personal experience.

      @@kapee4235 there is nothing wrong with a pro giving another pro tips and advice. I would gladly take advice off other pro HDs no worries at all. I know I don’t know everything there is to know about hair etc. I have learnt so much more since hair school just by watching and learning off other stylists.

    Being a hairdresser u rely need to brush up on your stuff more u def should of used 20 volume from the beginning that was a no brainer and u should of already knew using so much clear would of deluded the stuff 🙄 and u say u used 400.00 in product ? 😳 where ? 🤣 I do not see 400.00 worth of product unless maybe your paying retail from a high end bougie 🤑 store lol this is why ppl are hesitant to go to a salon to have things done because of the lies they hear from the hairdresser that thinks there all that when they rely don’t have much of a clue of wt there doing and there still learning lol 😝 and her end result I would be very very very upset if I was her as her hair looks gray ok but it’s very dark gray as u left it on way to long and 2 there was way to much yellow in it so it made it look like she was a dark muddy gray and a heavy smoker with the yellow in it that is not a look not a good look as most try to get rid of there yellow and now she won’t be able too just kinda ruined the whole thing with I can just imagine how much u charged the poor girl 🙄
