It’s time! We LOVE Forest’s blonde curls, but it’s way too hot for him in Jakarta, Indonesia. We decided to get him a street haircut. There are tons of barbershops and hair salons in Jakarta, but we were hoping to find a unique experience. After searching the internet, we found what we were looking for: the perfect potong rambut anak-anak! Watch Forest as he gets a haircut out in the open air. We meet lots of families and kids. Afterward, we take an Odong Odong (auto auto) around for a neighborhood tour. I’m sure there are many local barbers like this, but you will have to seek them out. We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, seven years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. I can not believe I spent 17 minutes watching 3 yrs old boy get a hair cut...Well for Forest I will watch a full hour if I have to..😘 So glad to see Forest in such a good mood...and the hop on hop off ride is called Odong - Odong..not Otto - Otto..Seems a lot of fun for the kids ❤️❤️❤️
I can not believe I made a 17 minute video about a 3 year old getting a haircut! 😆 We really enjoyed meeting Sansudin. He was very nice, and we enjoyed meeting his neighbors. :-)

hahahaa until the 90s, the barber shop was still peddling around the village/housing selling the srvices bringing a big mirror and hair cutting equipment, then hair cutting mostly done under the tree. Busy street because you're family was there and become the attention ....

Looks calm and cool with something he's probably not get used to. Not every kid coud show such a manner, at least that is what I've been seen in Indonesia in my whole life. But Forest seems can handle many new things during the trip (at least on cam 😆). Great parenting example for many parents!

Why Indonesian people are so interested to take a picture with bule?
Because most of them cannot go abroad to met bule in their country. So when they met bule, its somekind of rare moments that's should be memorized.
We have always enjoyed taking pictures with the people who are in our videos. It is a good memory for everyone.

I like your family. Your children are so well manner and follow the parents everywhere with same adventure spirit like the parents. Some people was struggle to keep the child calm in restaurant while you, your wife and 3 small children are walking through heat, busy area, crowded and also go to the small suburbans. They don't complaint and forest sit quite n calm for hair cut. Excellent 👌. Love your adventure video

It's kinda rude tho, most of them didn't even ask for the children's consent first, granite and cedar seemed uncomfortable.
