The 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 is priced at Rs 7.36 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 at Rs 8.95 lakh and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 at Rs 8.85 lakh (ex-showroom). If I'm going to shell out my hard earned money on a 650 cc, it's the V-Strom which is super reliable & durable. This will still be around when we are long gone. Japanese bikes are something else.

If only it came with cruise control. I think CC is so underrated and useful feature especially for a tourer like the Versys.
Useful when the highways are empty but here, it can be used momentarily
I don't think cc is ever useful especially on Indian highways. You are driving a bike pay focus to it and just drive. Its better not to use such useless automated electronics.
@@manthenvashishth3769 Have to disagree to it TBH. Did a recent trip between Bangalore - Mumbai - Hyderabad - Bangalore. Thanks to the vast stretches of highway with low traffic especially between Bangalore - Kolhapur and Hyderabad - Bangalore, CC was an absolute boon. Not only could i cover the distance in almost the same amount of time, i could extract great fuel economy too. It has changed the way I ride and is definitely letting me cover more distance between stops.
just put a rubber band on the crack and make any bike have cc.
If you ride enough, your mind and body would be on automatic cruise control.
Unless I'm in heavy traffic, riding is automatic, for me.

Using D400 currently, there's nothing wrong with it, just need a touring machine with big fuel tank and more power. I reside in a peripheral town where there's no kawi or triumph service centre. Kindly suggest me the bike should I go for. Because I realise a major part is having a good service centre available.

The Kawasaki 650cc parallel twin is best for Indian conditions. You can tame it to its full potential with confidence, great mileage and reliable.

Great review Varun, do you suggest jumping to Versys 650 from a D400 or should you go to Tiger 850? I know different bikes but talking for that sheer jump in power.
The Tiger 850 has 19 inchers on the front,which makes it a little more comfortable off-road. The Versys with the 17 inchers are strictly for road.

thanks for sharing. right now i choosing between new CB500x and Versys 650. CB said better for maintenance and fuel consumption. but This year in Malaysia Versys come with CKD version which is only 10% more expensive. today just got text from salesman which 1i prefer, i still not get the answer 😁
tested both Vstorm is too a great bike smooth acceleration great pillion space ..but more than a lac more to this ..I found this more VFM..looked great ..good rider comfort ..fun to ride …so so easy to handle …liked the tyres for road ..tiger was never an option as tourer should have a good pillion space…

I’m confused between the 500x and Versys 650. The high running cost of Kawasaki is a concern. I haven’t test ride it, so don’t know about the smoothness of the engine n comfort.
It's super important to ride both bikes. You will know which one will work for you. Both bikes are fantastic, in my opinion the 500x can do some bit of off road and trail riding. It's easier to maintain its a Honda however you miss out on a fair few features like the bigger tank, the display, switchable modes etc. It's essentially down to what you want to use the bike for. So you will have a clearer idea if you test ride both back to back
@@leoncelestinedave ya need to ride them but both are unavailable fir test rides in our city. I mainly will use for commuting n Highway rides. Not into off roading.
@@TomalBhattacharjee oh okay the 500x is better as it feels more nimble. Honda killed the bike with the pricing however it's a great product. The city commute will be absolutely brilliant if you were to compare it to the Versys. Also as one progresses and tours you will encounter small stretches of travel roads and mild trails in those situations the 500x is far easier to handle. I personally have ridden both and would go for the 500x without a doubt. However if you were to include the 650 vstrom into the mix then that's all the bike you will ever need.

On the contrary, when you mentioned upgrade, I have many known friends who have rather downgraded to ADV390 from Versys, unfortunately for the kind of support Kawa provides in big cities like Bengaluru

V strom has tubeless with spoke wheels , standard option for top box , acceleration is smoth also it has low rpm assists .But price is higher then versus.
I don't know why the vehicle has a utensil stand on its left side.

Kawasaki makes worst accessories for eg. Saree guard, back rest/ grab handle/ luggage holder for ninja 300. That ninja 300 grab handle/luggage holder looks pathetic.
Versys 650 it's just a bike it doesn't have that vibe and riding it doesn't give you any thrill even xpulse and yezdi adventure is more of a tourer and offroader than versys 650.

Hey PD, I am looking to upgrade my bike this year and the Versys 650 is at the top of my list currently. I have a few questions though. It would be great if you could help.
1. Are the updates to he 2022 model substantial enough to warrant buying a brand new bike or an used Versys 650 would still be a great buy? A second hand Versys can save around 2-2.5 lakhs.
2. Is the Versys a good second hand buy? I have heard that the spares and service costs are prohibitively high. Is the bike reliable over a period of 3-5 years to buy pre-worshipped? My usage would mostly be for touring and very limited rough roading.
Great for touring and the bump isn’t significant. Buy a second hand only if the motorcycle is well maintained
This was barely a review, well produced and all that. But really, the audience looks for details on how the bike handles, the suspension, the tractability, heat management and of course some details. Sharing a cursory opinion is great but this feels a bit too underwhelming
And this is the reason why I skip watching videos hosted by Varun Painter. He doesn’t connect as a rider. It’s like he reads the script he has been told to, which in turn is narrated by other experts at PD.
No offence, but that’s exactly how I feel.

@@vroombk as compared to MT and SV650 it does lack the aggression and falls flat. I rode trident, MT, Kawasaki, SV 650 all in the same day same route, and of all those Kawa was the least inspiring.
I really liked it in first place thinking that Varun will be able to make travel videos on Versys. Anyways better luck next time 😂
