Nice review👍🏼. Have you guys tested the Bilstein 5160 reservoir on the Wrangler? I'm looking to replace my Rocksport shocks on a 3.5 MC Gamechanger lift, with shocks better suited for higher speed rough road comfort. Your recommendations plz 🙏🏼
Haven't tested the 5160s on the Wrangler yet, didn't get around to it before we lost the JL. But from what I know of other applications, they're going to be softer than the 5100s, more appropriate for offroad use and keeping the tires planted in the rugged stuff without being as harsh. The Fox 2.0 can accommodate what you're after though, road comfort and easy trail comfort compared to the rocksport twin tubes.
I am new to the Jeep community, I recently bought a 2019 jeep unlimited sport altitude, I came with 255/70R18 all-season tires, I would like to put a little more aggressive tires on it, I am not into rock crawling, only light trails is the plan for now. If I put spacers 1.5 or 2" high, I understand could fit bigger tires, but would I lose comfort when driving on the road? If this is the case, will Fox 2.0 or the Bilstein 5100 shocks help me get a smoother ride on the route? Thank you.
Going with bigger tires will impact ride comfort depending on the load rating and size. If you're adding more sidewall rubber and not changing wheel size, then that is more comfort in most cases. Less sidewall = less comfort, generally. The 2" spacer on stock coils can affect ride quality slightly towards the negative, new coils are typically the better option. Fox 2.0 will be a good solution for maximizing comfort onroad and on the easy trails, Bilstein is more suited for better handling and load hauling. Still good comfort with Bilstein, but Fox is better if its in the budget. www.shocksurplus.com/products/fox-2-0-performance-series-shocks-set-for-2018-2020-jeep-wrangler-4wd-rwd-jl?variant=32323143729201
What’s the best spring to pair with the Bilstein? At the moment I got a 2,5 inch spacers and I’m not very happy, the back of the jeep with the load sank a lot. I use the jeep on the weekends for moderate offroad and I got an RTT. Thanks!
There are some options from various brands that offer good dual rate front and rear springs to address various loads. Teraflex, Skyjacker come to mind. Reach out to support@shocksurplus.com or DM us on instagram @shocksurplus to dive into more details and cost.
Hi, want to upgrade my stock shock (JK - 2DRS - stock shock - no lift.) to Bilstein 5100. Can I just swap them right away? Is there no need for spacer, etc..? Can the Bilstein 5100 be installed in JK with zero lift?
Definitely not our favorite option especially compared to the Bilsteins. Although still firm, the 5100s offer better small bump compliance, handling, and overall support.
Just ordered mine can't wait to put them on
Such good work, so often. But still in drive under a jack on the back.

Was wondering the same thing.

I’m may be going with JKS, but I’m leaning toward Clayton
The only question I have now is? How will these two compare on a Gladiator Sport S no max tow. ?
these two? between which shocks? subscribe, then text 213-433-3616 and we can answer your question (call or text)

Same question here. What did you end up doing?
What about the Falcon 2.1 adjustable what do you think will handle cracks in the roads battery
