Adam Hall: VERY sexy rod-fondling here. Is this in the basement of a gay bath house? That's probably why they don't want to give away the location and have it get overcrowded with rod-fondlers
Great video guys! SKS & K31 tough to turn down while still available. Sure will be nice when importation of all the Korean Garands is authorized. Gotta visit Atlanta Cuttlery!
We can get SKS easily but at the same time we got this damn 5 round mag limit on all centerfire weapons. We can't get Steyr Augs and AKs either because, you know, "EVIL"...
+Guillaume Doriat Yeah, that's the major downer to Canadian gun laws. While you guys do get some things we don't, you have crazy restrictions on most of them. We certainly have a wider variety of firearms available to us in the States, but you always desire what you can't have... which is why I want a QBZ-95. Back when you guys had Tavors and we didn't, I was going nuts.
+Military Arms Channel At this point we are buying .50 Beowulf mags just because we can stick 15 5.56x45 in them. Probably going to grab a few when I buy a Type97 for Christmas.
+Military Arms Channel Some of our guns, labelled as "Non-Restricted" allow us to have most (definitely not all though haha) of the freedoms that you guys have with your rifles. Fortunately the SKS, the Vz.58, the QBZ, and the M14 are all commonly available firearms that are in the non-restricted class. We can also get norinco 7.62x54R FMJ BT new production at milsurp prices. Don't get me wrong, I wish we had your laws, but if you saw the price I payed for a beautiful SKS with mostly matching numbers, you'd flip a brick. Or the prices for M14s, they've gone up to like $650, which is pretty darn high.
I messed up a few years back with a immaculate SVT-40 for $575 I think it was. Went home and researched and they were going $1200-$1600.I could kick myself in the butt for that. Another thing was it was a war bring back with no import stamps. I did go back to get it and it was gone of course.
+monsterman27 I feel your pain man. Had an opportunity several years ago to pick up a completely MINT Russian Tula SKS all numbers matching for $230, and I didn't because I thought I had enough SKS's at the time (4). I'm a moron.
BadWolf762 I didn't know enough about them at time. Not sure I would of kept it or tried to flip it. Oh well, cant have them all. Ive passed up many guns since too. I shoulda picked up a SKS but haven't yet. I missed out on a real nice one that wasn't al beat up(YUGO).
Makes sense. When the Wehrmacht is breathing down your neck and you need to drop your gun and get the hell out of there, you don’t want your gun to shoot you in the foot, otherwise how will you run away?
I noticed Eric is like ..."its right there".. LOL Brother. You're wall is littered with firearms lol.. Kinda Jealous. Love watching eric, and love watch Military arms channel .
This is the first time I ever comment on a youtube video. Guys, this is one of the BEST firearm videos I have ever seen. As a Milsurp enthusiast myself, I absolutely loved it. And learned quite a bit as well. Keep up the great work guys. Truly a pleasure
SVTs are like $300 in Canada, and a good $1,200 here (if you can find one)... If I'm not mistaken, the US Gvt sold the blueprints of the M14 to the Chinese after we started using the M16 early in the war with Vietnam... I always heard the Norinco M14 was a really good rifle. I never shot one tho...
+Plasticman But we do still get prime-grade Russian SKS' for $200. Cabela's Canada had Select grade laminate stock Russian SKS' for sale at that price, but normally they are still only $300!!
+Joey P it's the Taiwanese that received the blueprints and toolings from the US Govt and licensed make the M14 in Taiwan, not sure about the Chinese but since they're so good in knocking off stuffs it's just required a few specimens to evaluate it themselves if they can't obtain any blueprints or data, and they'll turned out a clone on their own
Mosins are just too overplayed, and as mentioned in the video are in no short supply, these are things you want to get like RIGHT NOW before they hike up in price. Besides those swiss guns shoot circles around mosins.
+Mr. Lucht Oh cmon, don't tell me you don't care at least a little bit what someone else is wearing. I bet you'd react if someone was walking around in a banana costume for example.
***** Nope it's holloween weekend that wouldn't be odd at all. ;) But what do you gain by criticizing what he wears? Why is SO important that out off all the topics to post about you choose that? Not any of the sweet rifles he shows?
Right now, in Switzerland, a brand new unissed K31 is worth at least $1000 to $1100. In recent years, the military production of GP11 ammunitions has stopped; however, there are plenty in reserve, but the stock will dry up someday. Last year at a gun show, a W+F prototype of a semi-automatic version of a K31 was sold around $17,000 because of its collectivity. Now, when it comes to Swiss pistol, a SIG P-210 from 1949 in mint conditions is worth between $2,500 to $3,000. Yes, surplus firearms are fun to collect, it's addicting and may hurt someone's wallet, but it's an investment for the future. Excellent video as always !
Im 33 now. I remember when I was around 15 years old going down to Moss Pawn Shop with my Dad and picking out a Mosin Nagant for about $69 and a Lee Enfield for $89. I've still got them Both (in storage). I've been living in China now for over 6 years now. I really cant wait to get back state side so I can go shooting again.
I'm a huge fan of both channels, but man, Eric hates having to wait to talk. Constantly going "uh huh" and "yep"... nodding his head yes, and his facial expressions. Even when he's doing gripes with Chad you can see it...but this one was really bad lol.
6:15 It's called the Type 97 here (google T97 for a slick replacement for the iron sights) Have it, love it. $1000 CAD (so about $750 USD). The safety is in a very stupid place and you have to train yourself differently when changing mags, but once you do that it is quite nice!
Great segment, thanks for posting. Congrats on finding your Rashid! I have been wanting to get one for a while, to go with my Ljungman AG-42B and Hakim. I tend to be interested in the technology so I like the transitional era, the early semi autos. I also want to find a French MAS 49/56 at a reasonable price. I may have waited too long... Not doing too bad though, I have 4 of the 5 you chose! Martini-Henry Mk IV Swiss K-31 Swedish AG-42B Russian (not Chinese copy) SKS-45 I do not have a Springfield Trapdoor 1873, though. I realize that any list is going to be subjective, but I was expecting to see a Garand, a Lee-Enfield and perhaps an SVT-40 (I have three!) :) One tiny error. You mentioned Canada having access to the QBZ or Type 95 Chinese bullpup (At about 6:15 ) In fact, we get the Type 97 version, chambered in 5.56 NATO ,rather than the original 5.8x42mm round.
I love older and surplus guns. Just having a peice of history is a huge cool factor. I have an old mauser that's been in my family for like 60 years. It's got engraving and shit on it and got really taken care of and it's my favorite gun I own.
I just picked up a mosin nagant m91/59 at my local gun shop for 150 dollars and its in great condition the bluing is almost perfect except for a little bit of rust around the rear sight only complaint is that it came in an ati montycarlo stock. I picked it up because I watched Eric's videos on the mosin and decided I needed one

3:53. I saw the roman sword(Gladius) of Emperor Tiberius in the British Museum. I couldnt believe that was in the hands of the ruler of one of the biggest empires of Earth
Bought a martini-Henry as soon as you told me to plan to buy more in the future thank you both so much in $180 surplus rifle has a place in my collection!!!
Let the video drag on, I could have watched that for hours!
+Adam Hall True that
Adam Hall: VERY sexy rod-fondling here.
Clearly they're in California.
+tsnorquist That's funny.
of course I haven't seen a glass of water on ONE of their videos!
no a few of those guns look black or dark gray, and everyone knows that's a dangerous color that automatically makes them assault rifles
+BroDoYouEvenBro Absolutely. Everyone knows that appearance is directly correlated with deadliness AND that correlation definitely proves causation!
lol that's just his personal milsurp collection i bet his legit gunroom looks better than MAC's. sorry MAC
LOVED this exchange. Mil surp geeks geeking out. Keep em coming.
+Military Arms Channel haha do you mean the type 97 NSR ? they have a flat top version now
+Philip Jia The flat top actually looks pretty cool.
+monsterman27
I feel your pain. 20 years ago the SVT-40s were going for about $300, and I had one in my hands at a gun show but did not buy it.
Damn !! Yea you deserve to kick your own ass for loosing that!!! Think these Soviet surplus firearms will ever return like the low prices in Canada??
nope demand and greed and a dumb leader
It's videos like this that keep me coming back to this channel!
I don’t care what you say, French army rifles are innovative. They were the first rifles to be drop safe!
Makes sense. When the Wehrmacht is breathing down your neck and you need to drop your gun and get the hell out of there, you don’t want your gun to shoot you in the foot, otherwise how will you run away?
That was a good video I could just sit and listen to you two talk about military surplus rifles all dayb
in Canada SVT-40 350 dollars Canadian
+Rundas242 DAMN!
They're getting hard to find now, just none left to import according to the guys I talk to
i'd love to figure out a way to get one of those shipped over here ...
*****
Yeah dude I want some of the American stuff shipped here too.
*****
there has to be a work around to get things shipped
Oh man, Shogun News, what memories. Good to see other OIF Vets doing good. Keep doing good things, bro.
+Luis Conesa Outstanding and thank you for watching.
Norinco sks's are drying up in canada now. And the QBZ has just horrible ergonomics. And the Norinco m14 is hit and miss.
Why no SVT-40 on the table?
+Plasticman SVT-40's are increasingly hard to find down here.
Cabela's Canada had Select grade laminate stock Russian SKS' for sale at that price, but normally they are still only $300!!
and svt-40's for under $400.
I need to get another sks and keep it original.
+Joey P it's the Taiwanese that received the blueprints and toolings from the US Govt and licensed make the M14 in Taiwan, not sure about the Chinese but since they're so good in knocking off stuffs it's just required a few specimens to evaluate it themselves if they can't obtain any blueprints or data, and they'll turned out a clone on their own
Excellent video guys. Two guys who I really respect for their knowledge and down to earth gun advice. Thanks.
Lol...my wallet is gonna hate me for watching this video
Very exciting vid...thanks to the both of you for 'walking' us through.
#1- M1 Carbine!
+The Immortal Hell yes.
I was at a gun show and this lady was selling a 1944 M1 Carbine and her husband was offering to sand the stock if the person who bought it wanted...
I REMEMBER WHEN brandnew SKS sold for $40.00 😮😮 to $45.00 all day long!
Can you do a Video with a Gun Called the FN-FAL I think its called because I have never seen a Video that's good on them
Jerry Miceluk did a good video on the FAL
DS Arms makes modern versions of the FN FAL.
Hickock45 made a video on one too
Check out Jerry Miculek if he hasn't been recommended yet. He has a nice high-quality video on it.
Dude, the FAL is a really popular rifle. There's a shit load of videos of the FAL.
Thank you. Just what I asked for Tim. Two of the best together with my favorite subject.
I paused the video and guessed 5 guns before i watched it
1) Mosin
2) Japanese Arisaka
3) Swiss K31
4) SKS
5) Garand
+shread802 well, you got two right...
yeah, where was the mosin? definitely has the most bang for your buck out of these.
+Charles Baker
they touched on the mosin very briefly but it wasn't part of the lineup
+Charles Baker I'm surprised no Mosin... I think they are on par with these rifles, especially an M39!!!
Mosins are just too overplayed, and as mentioned in the video are in no short supply, these are things you want to get like RIGHT NOW before they hike up in price. Besides those swiss guns shoot circles around mosins.
two of my favorite youtubers lmao love you guys man you all need to do more videos together.
Why is IV wearing full a-tacs in public?
+Mathias Laakkonen It's not technically in public, and we were doing other video shoots that day.
+Military Arms Channel I see.
+Mathias Laakkonen Why are you worried about what another man is wearing? So wierd. ;)
Now that's a real freakin man cave!
6:15
It's called the Type 97 here (google T97 for a slick replacement for the iron sights)
Have it, love it. $1000 CAD (so about $750 USD).
The safety is in a very stupid place and you have to train yourself differently when changing mags, but once you do that it is quite nice!
**** HILARY FOR PRISON ****
gun channels on TH-cam have the best communities. Most of these guys shoot together, do full30, and enjoy everyone's content. it's great.
One of my ALL time favorite TH-cam videos! Do more of these please!
I’ve wanted a k31 for years...dude just convinced me to get one while they’re in stock. He’s right, they won’t be around forever.
Where are they in stock?
@@voodoomamajuju1654 simpson ltd
Really interesting stuff guys. Could watch you guys all day.
Too much fun.. all that is missing from this video is a good cigar and a few beers! Thanks!
Martini-Henry Mk IV
Swiss K-31
Swedish AG-42B
Russian (not Chinese copy) SKS-45
I do not have a Springfield Trapdoor 1873, though.
I realize that any list is going to be subjective, but I was expecting to see a Garand, a Lee-Enfield and perhaps an SVT-40 (I have three!) :)
One tiny error. You mentioned Canada having access to the QBZ or Type 95 Chinese bullpup (At about 6:15 )
In fact, we get the Type 97 version, chambered in 5.56 NATO ,rather than the original 5.8x42mm round.
K-31 Swiss rocks with its beautifully made ammo . . . accuracy is off the charts.
I love older and surplus guns. Just having a peice of history is a huge cool factor. I have an old mauser that's been in my family for like 60 years. It's got engraving and shit on it and got really taken care of and it's my favorite gun I own.
Tim and Eric, Awesome Show. Great Job!
My two favorite firearms channels in one video
Great video guys. Good info about some mil-surp rifles is not heard of before. Thanks for sharing.
If I could only have one Mil-surp rifle, it would be a Finnish M39. Eric's video made me love that rifle.
I'm looking at getting my first Milsurp (SKS) and i'm already looking at K31's and m1 carbines... you weren't kidding when you said it's addicting
Two Icon’s of Gun Reviewers! All you need is for Sootch & Hickok to join you! I’ve met Eric before...great guy!
Thanks for sharing guys, enjoyed the discussion.
we definitely need more crossover vids. I love seeing some of my fav youtubers together.
I loved this vid and want to watch more just like this just talking about these great guns. The history lessons alone kept me entertained
Great video!!! Two of my favorite guy's!!!
Nice job. Spot on assessment of the feast and famine nature of military surplus arms and ammunition. Reminds me I need to also add a D model sks to my collection. Off to gunbroker!
It's a great collaboration there guys was smiling the whole way through it
+Christian rivas Good to hear, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I know absolutely nothing about milsurp rifles but I could listen to these guys all day 😀👍
Wow I never realized you guys knew so much about guns. Gonna have to watch this video 1 or 2 times again to get all the info..
K31 are still shot competetivly in Switzerland, only restriction: the only sight allowed apart from the Iron sight, are diopters.
MAC and iraq veteran are the two best gun guys on youtube!!! you guys should make more videos!!!
This was great little conversation.
