      Plus Steve held back /pulled his punches for normal people. ( Bucky is doing the same thing in this series too. He spent so much time being trained to not Hurt anyone else. And he is figuring out who he is) as far as Steve and Bucky were both good people who just wanted to stop WW-2 ( the only major difference between them was their physical attributes) Mentally they both had big hearts. Both were empathetic toward others. And I think the original formula is way stronger than this new one.

      @@py16667 I think you could interpret that as working the same way as the original serum, as most people are not perfectly magnanimous and selfless and only interested in doing the right thing like Steve Rogers... most of us, if given the power to act on them, do have aggressive, selfish, and even violent compulsions that might come to the surface.

      @py16667 that's the reason the doctor chose Steve, because steve said he wanted to beat the bullies and cuz dr also explained that a strong person is already used to power vs someone like Steve is gifted power, know how the little guy feels and would know how to use it for good (something along those lines)

    John was suffering from PTSD well before he was given the mantle of being the "new Captain America", and managed to hide that from those that gave it to him (or they knew and didn't care). The serum amplifies more than just the physical aspects of the recipient, and John's mind/persona was just as effected, like other recipients.

    As for the shield, if you recall, in Civil War, Spiderman comments on how the shield doesn't follow the laws of physics. Sam is just learning to react to his own throws and the shield's actions from them, just as anyone else would have to. Vibranium is a "tricky" substance, and the interpretations of its capabilities has varied over the years.

    • @dominiksain7529
      @dominiksain7529 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      It’s the lightest metal on earth if I’m not mistaken. So any adult human who’s physically fit should be able to throw it imo.

    • @richardyoung3462
      @richardyoung3462 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Well, it's the transfer of energy, or the lack of it, that makes Vibranium odd. The way it bounces off of multiple targets without any loss of energy is where the real questions start. A normal item would lose energy in both directions as the item thrown and the target hit would both cause the energy of the throw to drop with each hit. As it appears to work in the films, it doesn't lose any energy from the throw, but seems to still deliver it with hits (targets being knocked back or down), which is what makes it "not right". Unless the MCU rationalizes that Vibranium has a "battery like" ability to "store" the energy applied (throwing) without losing any of it on contact (hitting targets) until someone or something literally grabs/stops it (allowing it to disperse/discharge from being at rest).
      Anyway, even the basic science of this is over my head and only guesses at best.

    You got to remember, Vibranium is super light and strong. The sheild doesn't weigh the same as if it was made out of other metal. Anyone could throw it. The trick is getting the angles. It absorbs kinetic energy and kind of puts it into the shield, which is why it bounces like a rubber ball. Steve did it effortlessly because his mind could calculate the angles almost instantly due to the serum. But anybody who trains would be able to use it.

    So Isaiah Bradley's monologue about what happened to him is based on a very horrific event that happened. It's called the "Tuskegee Experiment." I would definitely google all about it. The OTHER thing to mention about Isaiah's monologue is he did the EXACT same thing Steve did in the first Captain America move: He disobeyed orders to go save his fellow men in the military. However, they jailed Isaiah BUT they made Steve a hero. That's the big message I think they were trying to portray in the epic monologue.

    • @neospock5034
      @neospock5034 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The obvious racial element aside, the biggest difference is that Steve disobeyed orders but saved hundreds of men. Isaiah saved a few guys who wound up dying anyway. Most important, Isaiah risked exposing the unethical government program that created him. Remember the military brass wanted to destroy the entire base, just to hide the evidence of their program that experimented upon all those African-American soldiers. So the people in power he almost ruined, retaliated by sending him to prison.

    The shield throwing, in comic canon can be learned by anyone, it's vibranium so it's not very heavy and it's perfectly rigid so it returns 100 percent of its energy, so it bounces back at the same speed thrown, it's a crazy fictional metal for sure lol

His mind also processes information quickly, giving him an accelerated learning aptitude; for example, Beast once stated that Rogers can learn and master any weapon within seconds. He possesses an eidetic/photographic memory and perfect recall, meaning he never forgets what he sees and experiences, paired with the ability to speed read, and can thereby intuitively understand what's likely going to happen and how best to deal with it. This enables him to remember any military tactic and apply it to any situation.
      Master Shield Fighter: Rogers' years of training and experience with his unique shield, as well as its physical properties, allowing him to accomplish amazing feats with the item. Aside from bashing foes and blocking incoming attacks he is able to throw it with nearly perfect aim, being able to estimate its hit and rebounding return virtually to the millimeter.[218] Rogers can hit multiple targets with the same throw by means of ricochet, and could even achieve a boomerang-like return effect, allowing him to strike enemies from behind or retrieve the shield without objects to ricochet from."

    The comics version of Zemo was that he was the leader of the Masters of Evil, who fought against the Avengers. Since these stories were written in the early 1960's, Steve's freezing was to explain why he disappeared after the war, in order to be brought back, rather than to explain the 70 year gap. Heinrich Zemo was a major baddie, and although he did not appear in the comics in the 1940's (during the war), it was explained that he and Cap had battled it out during WWII when he showed up in the 60s. Zemo was credited with killing Bucky during the war, as Bucky was a young teenaged sidekick for the comics, and not a contemporary best friend. Zemo wore a purple head covering, and the original explanation was that Adhesive X prevented him from removing it. (It was an experimental adhesive, and the hood was stuck to his head.). Eventually, after not using him for a while, they brought his character back, but in the form of the original Zemo's son, Helmut Zemo. He went on to form the Thunderbolts, who temporarily replaced the Avengers, when they disappeared for a year. They were all former villains who had similar powers and dressed as the missing heroes, attempting to rehabilitate their criminal personas, not realizing it was Zemo leading them as Citizen V. The MCU tends to change things, because they don't have to come up with a story once a month and keep characters around, so there are obvious differences.

    What makes this show so good to me and so many others from what I have heard is the struggle of not believing in yourself or being worthy. That’s the same feeling we get in Thor when he can’t lift the hammer and finding out what Odin is trying to teach him. Steve eventually picking up Mjornir. Sam doesn’t feel like he’s worthy to be the next Cap and the real fans understand that it can’t be Bucky with what he is going through mentally. Sam is the rightful choice and the whole time people that believe in him are disappointed that he can’t see what everyone else sees. Sometimes it takes outside opinion to help prove to yourself that you were worthy of something the whole time.

    The serum amplifies power…and that is dangerous. Erskin explained what the serum does…but it was Uncle Ben who best explained what someone with the serum needs. With Great Power comes…well, you know the line.
    What it truly means is someone who has taken the serum needs Great Restraint. Sometimes you have to hold back, because that punch can do more than hurt…it can injure.
    (And, out of the MCU, this applies to all forms of power…physical, economic, political…the effects of what you do with your power is amplified, so you have to use it with restraint…and, take responsibility for what you do, good or bad.)
    This episode lays John Walker bare. When he’s attacking Sam and Bucky, he’s hitting with full force, screaming “Why are you making me do this???” No responsibility.
    It also lays the government bare when Walker, rightfully, takes them to task. They take no responsibility either. And remember this as we wrap up the show, because the question of responsibility….this show takes a swing at saying how they can.
    And then there’s Zemo, and idealist who has done horrible things for his ideal, but also someone who, so far as we have seen, has also not fought to avoid responsibility or punishment for his actions. It is an interesting comparison.
    I LOVE this show for all its themes and deep questions. It’s not trying to be simple, and more shows need to be that.

    Only Black Panther take Heart-shaped plant. Even if they wanted to, they couldn't give it to them because the killmonger burned all the plants to the ground. The beginning of this episode is my favorite scene, it's extremely good when they fight for the shield.

    Remember the raft was the prison in the Sea. Steve went back for Bucky , Wanda ( capt America Civil War movie) Also that was a Statue to remember the Fallen ( The Flying City avengers, two age of Ultron) Sokovia!

    In the comics, Torres inherits the wings and becomes Falcon when Sam gets a promotion.
    10:55 That’s a monument for all the Sokovians who were killed by Ultron, not just Baron Zemo’s family.
    Also, his comment about not killing Bucky is not a joke. Zemo is Marvel’s Batman - no super powers, wealthy, and a super genius. His plans work. If he wanted to kill Bucky, he’d die. It’s part of what he was doing in episode 3. He snooped in Bucky’s notebook and kept pushing him to see if Bucky is good enough a person to be allowed to live as a super soldier.

    I never had the impression that the super soldier serum affected anything else but the physical stats. Look at what all took place up to him getting the serum.
    They way they explained why Walker was chosen as the candidate was all about his war record and physical aptitude - the same mistaken view that Col Phillips had in the original project. Doubtful they did any sort of personality and psych assessments on him- Walker already had signs of having an ego and an inferiority complex, and would react angrily if he was not given respect to his authority or got what he wanted. That was something he was likely already used to with his rank and record. Making him Cap WITHOUT having the power brought all those issues out. He was fine and dandy being the PR hero and getting all the respect and love... but he never got respect from Bucky and Sam, same with the normal Flag Smashers. That was bad enough, but once he had to go up against enhanced opponents, he was outclassed, and his ego couldn't take it. Then he thought he at least could deal with regular people and got trashed by the Dora Milaje (not realizing they might be normal, but had WAY more training and experience).
    And all this was BEFORE the serum. Once he took it, the only thing that changed was his ability to win in a fight with an enhanced. Without the serum, Walker would still have wanted to kill a Flag Smasher to get revenge for Battlestar (but likely getting defeated or killed in the process)

    It's worth noting that in Marvel Comics from the 1960s to 2000s, both Steve Rogers and T'Challa were NOT superhuman. they were officially classified as "peak human". The super-soldier serum and heart-shaped herb both elevated people to the absolute upper limit of human physical ability, but not beyond that. So Steve and T'Challa were superior to the greatest Olympic athletes in history, able to lift 750-800 llbs overhead, bench press 1100-1200 lbs, and run at 30mph (for reference, the world's fastest Olympic sprinters might hit 22mph).
    But in the MCU (which was partially based upon Marvel's "Ultimate" universe known as Earth-1610) the serum was more effective, turning people into low-level superhumans instead of just peak humans. That's why MCU Cap can lift 2-3 tons overhead and run at nearly 60mph. The serum being much more powerful in the Ultimate universe and MCU is why so many other storylines (even the Hulk's origin) revolved around attempts to replicate it.

    Hello Jax!😊 You are correct. The doctor told Steve the serum makes someone more of what is inside them. The serum just amplifies what is already there. That is why Red Skull was the way he was. He was bad to begin with. Yep, if you rewatch Endgame it is clear Steve told Bucky that he planned on staying in the past. Maybe the metallic properties of the shield make it easier to throw? It is unlike any other metal on Earth. The episodes are going by faster. I was shocked that was the end already!🤯 Great reactions to another episode, Jax!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!🎄1⃣

    Oh, that’s why I wanted to say Jax
    Isaiah, was In prison ( remember Hydra was inside of Shield ) so they locked him away to experiment on him . The Red Room/Russia had Bucky and Hydra in shield had Bradley ) They wanted to recreate the same Serum . But even his super soldier serum was not as good as the original version. Steve was like a hundred years old when he was in Endgame before he was sent back to live another lifetime. When he gave Sam the Shield He would have been 150 or more years old. Bucky and Steve age way slower than the other “super soldier “ ( excluding the hulk who really didn’t do the same process and is immortal for the most part)

    Power just amplifies what you are at your core, whether in this world or another. It makes it easier for you to do what you want, so your values are amplified because you can make them happen. Any kind of power does this, sexual power, physical power, social power, political power, etc., etc.

    What you miss in not being a comic reader or knowing the stories outside of the MCU is that Captain America is strong but he is not crazy super strong. Movies tend to make things bigger for entertainment affect. In the comics he is strong but he is what we would call peak human condition. The super soldier serum is sort of blown out of proportion in the MCU. Also the story is about heroes don't need things like the serum to make them heroes. This has also been an issue in the comics. In DC heroes were gods amongst men like Wonder Woman and Superman. In Marvel it is about regular people being given great powers and having great responsibility. Modern comic writers have been going against the comics of the past saying the power is not what makes you great or a hero. It should be about the person. Heroes are all around us in our everyday lives. We just don't look for them without the cape or the flashy powers. It is an interesting delimma but the super soldier serum is only making the characters the peak of what they would be as humans. Black Widow is suppose to have a version of it in her but nothing was as perfectly made as the one Steve had but Steve was about the person he was not the serum. The MCU has gone its own way but the issue is still there.

    The shields behaviour is mostly due to what it was made of & training. Steve would have held back lots of times, you see Bucky can throw hard enough to stick in a tree. Sam can’t do that. Fake Caps Shield will be weaker & heavier, so thrown by a super soldier will pack a hefty blow, more than Sam can do, but Sam’s is Vibranium so will fly better & much harder to damage.

    • @MattKeller
      @MattKeller 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      As much as it bothers me to see normals throw it at all let alone with force because of how unnatural the motion would be, what bothered me the most was when Sam would catch it like nothing. It would shatter a non-super soldier's arm in a second.

    Hello Jax, Im a fan from Spain my name is Alex.
    First of all, love your content, I think your one of the best channels on youtube that does reactions to movies.
    Secondly, if you want to make a different kind of reaction to a Spanish movie, I highly recommend reacting to Mortadelo and Filemon: Mission Implausible.
    It's based on a Spanish comic that has been relevant for over 10 years. It was translated into German, French, and a few into English. It's a very fun animated movie with lots of slapstick humor and wild antics, I think you'd love it!

    22:42 Well, Sam now has to do a different training, she can't be like Steve (obviously he is superior in strength, speed and endurance), she can't be like Natasha either (she had a special combat training since she was a child) that makes her superior to an average soldier. Sam was a soldier too but his training was oriented to flight (use of his wings), not so much to hand-to-hand combat, that's what he has to train now (with the shield as a weapon and support)

    Tossing in a non Marvel factoid. 13:09 watering plants at night had less surface evaporation so more water is absorbed into the plants and Earth. Also, Elaine's work history going from bad dancing at the J Peterman catalog to shadow government agency is a good one. :)
