Grew mine for 1,5 years. Had so much fun doing it, but those last couple of months I couldn't deal with the frizz and the curls anymore. Most of the time my hair looked great but those last 2 months it was just bad hair days everyday. I hope you'll keep growing it out, my hair type is close to yours, not as curly but close, so it'll give me some inspiration to grow it back again. Cheers man have a great one!

As many others have said, I also have similar hair and started growing it out just over a year ago. I started with an undercut so growing it out has been quite a process. I've had to cut top length a few times just to avoid looking like I was attacked by a tiger. It all started during quarantine, but honestly I'd been wanting to do it for a while but was annoyed by the awkward phase you have to go through. YOU HAVE HELPED. Thank you. I think you should latch on to your ability to talk about how to get various types of hair to react differently, because your posts have helped me to understand how to play around with my hair which I now know is critical to understanding the process. ...and also helpful to be able to communicate with my stylist! In my case, you helped me understand how in the f*** to manage my mane and make "grow out" look purposeful. Thank you again king!

out of curiosity, when salons apply the solutions for a perm whether it is for waves, volume, straightening, or down perms, do they simply use one type of solution for those kinds of perms?
