I replaced all my interior lights to the very same deep blue that u have there but its so hard to get the clock to be the same blue now 😂 im even looking for aftermarket replacement ones
Mine works sometimes, but not other times. It's in an 06 Chevrolet Aveo LS. The warning lights always work, but the clock display only works sometimes. It doesn't lose track of time either. Any idea what could cause that?
@@green3488 since it keeps time, it's likely a display issue like this. Is it a VFD display like this? Super common to have cracked solder on the power resistors, across many makes and models. I found the same issue on our KitchenAid oven!
It sounds like the same problem here, though perhaps only one of the resistors is disconnected. Have you checked the resistors shown in the video for solder cracking?
I'm not sure. Did it look similar when it used to work? Pretty much any VFD display draws decent current, makes a little heat, and eventually cracks solder joints. I've had to fix them in VCRs, instrument panels, ovens, etc. It's worth investigating.

@@CheapskateGarage I determined it's most likely two big 160 ohm resistors that are measuring as 140 ohms. Ordered better ones.
@@CheapskateGarage Yes, it's a lot like yours except also has the warning lights for stuff like seat belts, air bags, check engine, etc.
@@CheapskateGarage Other people had issues with diodes.
