- This is my Third Cadillac Lease....starting with my 2012 SRX onto my 2018 XT5 and finally this BEAUTIFUL 2020 XT5 400. Here I review the car as well as go back in time to compare and comment on the evolution of the XT5 from the SRX
I had the xt4 with only 17k miles. Every morning the transmission would slip 2 or 3 times and I took it to the dealership 3 times with no such luck finding the problem. I recently just traded for the xt5 and I love it.
I just picked up my 2024 XT5....Black Stellar Metallic with AWD and 20" Sport Wheels. They are great cars
I have one, it's an altered beast in sport mode with traction control offf and it stays in AWD

That gas gauge would drive me nuts didnt know they did that. True sign of a car guy your floor mats have floor mats over them. Beautiful car man. 1 question did it come with the ambient lighting
HEY ANIMAL 34!! Its a small annoying thing but now that it bugs me I'm more apt to keep an 👁 on it!! Lol. As for Ambient lighting....You bet!! Interior has a soft illumination under each door handle....the outside door handles have LED as well as mirror led turn signals. In the Rear....outside...as you approach the locked vehicle a Cadillac emblem shines on the ground under the left rear hatch!!! Lol
Nice car. Enjoy. I just traded my 2013 XTS for a 2020 XT5 Premium Luxury with the Platinum package option. Loaded with the Red Horizon Tintcoat paint and Maple Sugar interior.
Congratulations!! You will really love your XT5!! Especially loaded with all the comforts!!! I love the lane assist....Love the Car overall!!
I'm liking how the door handles light up at night when you open any of the doors
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus I have 21 premium lux grey out and light beige inside. Love the moonroof. I had to change the wheels to some classy 24s and the ride/ control is phenomenally the way that it should ride, tinted the two front windows and a set of 10 subs, sundown set up with a lithium backup battery. I want wrap it hydro green pearl. This is my to since the wife won’t let me take the new vette past 200 miles per month. I don’t know why caddy discontinued this year
There is a change in ‘18 & ‘20 back seats. The ‘20 they not only recline (that you skipped showing) they also slide forward & back.
It’s not a “curtain” it’s called a cargo portion rail.

Got 1 like this. Generally its ok. Assembly finish not so good so take a look at German cars. Auto start stop is stupid. 6cyl to 4 cyl stupid. I bought 6 to have six and not 4.

Hey Yossi....Been buying Caddys since my '12 SRX.... and these are much improved. There's a few things I do not like ....the A/C control options within the LCD display....But its still a damn good car. As for the 6/4 cylinder and auto stop/start.....Ill chalk that up to us Americans 🇺🇸 loving our Bells & whistles!!! Funny you mentioned German cars. Im considering the Porsche Panamera next or the smaller Macan Sport
There not all v-6. You can get 4-cylinder turbo
@bige2012 now they do...back in 2020 the V4 Turbo wasn't available in the XT 5. The dealership told me that there is no longer a " BASE MODEL " but rather the most inexpensive XT5 model which would be a "Base" comes with the V4 Turbo...which only was available in the XT4.... Personally a V4...even a turbocharged one in an SUV the size of an XT5 is too small....Unless your like me and hand them in off Lease every 3 years. But V4 turbos...not for me. Appreciate your watching!!
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus yes it was, I just looked at one last week, but got a 2020 w/ V6, for the reasons you mentioned. And overall the V6 is proven.
Calling it a 400 seems stupid to me. I had a Pontiac Firebird with a 400 badge that actually meant something.
400 doesn’t always have to mean cubic inches

@myronowens1925 No it's a V6. I have since handed this 2020 in and Now have a 2024 Premium Luxury AWD which is an awesome machine. They did away with the " BASE " model but what is considered a BASE XT5 is equipped with a Turbo V4.... All Other Premium models have the V6. The V8 are reserved only for the Escalade.
I wonder why Cadillac did not include roof rails with space/openings so you could actually tie something down? The SRX has great roof rails
Because They want you to buy THEIR ROOF RACK. This does have rails on both sides. I loved my SRX... I really love this XT5. I'm actually handing her back in in 3 weeks for a 24 XT 4 Sport!
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus I own a 2014 SRX (108K miles) and looking at 2020 XT5 premium luxury. There are several things my 2014 srx has that the 2020 xt5 does not like high grade backseat center console, a pass-through from the trunk area, lighted Cadillac emblem and much more

I'm going to test drive a 2019 xt5 20000 miles and it's not certified. Do you know how high the miles can get before there is a need to worry about breaking down. I've been buying new cars for the last 20years but can't afford a new Cadillac so I don't want a problem car. Do you have any advice on used Cadillac cars ?. Enjoyed your video thank you sir.

Try getting a price quote from one of these Consumer Reports Top Warranty companies....
Hey Scott.... 20k mi is very low for a 2019.... Double check the Carfax....there are criteria Dealerships use for " CERTIFIED". May have had been involved in an accident....even minor may preclude being Certified...Also you will have the balance of the Powertrain warranty...but im guessing the 3 year or /36k warranty mileage warranty expired. Buying Extended Warranties from dealerships suck....see what it costs...then shop for those other Warranties
If everything checks out....sounds like an awesome lightly driven XT5. I love both of mine ...2018 and my current 2020 which I'm handing back in at Lease End in Sept. I'm retiring so not sure if I'm going into another XT5 or possibly an XT4. But I recommend the XT5!!
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus Thanks for your response and I value your opinion. I tested the xt5 a couple hours ago and thought it was a great vehicle but not sure if I like it enough to purchase. When I saw the xt4 on you tube yesterday I had never seen one before and right away I thought I have to get one of those so maybe I can find a used one and test it. Good luck on your next vehicle. So what the 400 mean?
Great question... According to GM...the 3.6 Liter V6 equals 367 Newton meters of torque. So they rounded it up to 400.
@@Jimswholiestofcoleus 😆 what in the world. I pick up this exact vehicle Monday. I got shadow metallic not a huge fan of the color but thats all they had at the dealer. So wrap coming soon 😆.
