Thank you to all the wonderful people who watched this video, and helped point out some of the things I overlooked while making is. Apparently, I made an error while discussing prize-play. The prizes in Prize-Play are NOT cumulative. Which means if you win all five matches in a Gauntlet, you only get the 5 wins prize, without the 3 wins and 4 wins prizes. Which means you can only get up to 2 packs and 1 ticket in one run, not 3 packs and 3 tickets as I initially thought. Thanks to reddit user drsiegberterne
    for pointing this out.
I also made a mistake about Steam's marketplace. I said you get only 70% of the card's selling price, but that's not true. Steam charges 5% (rounded) on each item sold on the marketplace. Then the game publisher charges another fee, which is set by the publisher. In this case, Valve has placed a 10% fee on cards sold in the marketplace, making the total 15%. So if the card is being sold for 4 cents, you get 2 cents. If the card is being sold for $1, you get 85 cents. Thanks to TH-cam user sharpgg for pointing this out.

Not bad, I wasn't sure where you were going with the begining, but you wrapped it up nicely. While I personally cannot play it due to hardware limitations, I watched another TH-camr who also played it, and he had similar feelings about it. Never got to play Eternals, but the joke was great, imo. You addressed each of my concerns within a minute or two of the problem arising.

Steam Marketplace tax is not 30%. It's 10% rounded up + 5% rounded up, which is 2 cents if you sell for 4 cents or 15 cents if you sell for 1 dollar.

nice indepth review, you took your time and must have taken a long time to prepare and make this video. In times of short attention spans and swipe right mentallity, most people probably don't even bother watching a 35 minutes video but I really enjoyed. Thanks and keep it up (also don't be discouraged by some thumbs down, they're mostly from the subreddit from haters who downvote and hate everything positive or even neutral towards artifact, they don't even watch the video but instantly thumbs down)

I wish people knew how little of resources you work with. If you had a decent PC and Mic and a regular internet, you would be the best channel on YT within 6 months...

This does look like fun, but I SUCK at deckbuilding no matter how much time I try to wrap my head around it.

    Great job my dude!
Never heard about this game before, but yeah it looks the biggest problem with it would be perception...
People do buy real cards all the time and even spend fortunes and don't really mind, but when it comes to digital stuff it leaves a bad taste in your mouth...
Like for instance, there was a point where everyone would buy games on steam, no problem, but if you went to the Appstore or Playstore and saw a game at 0.99€ you'd be like "EW NO!"...
But yeah, I think if they at least offered you a chance to earn cards by grinding a bit, even if daily/weekly challenges or something, it should be enough to appease people.

Dude I can relate to this. You are on point on everything. I never played any digital card games before, in fact I always laugh at them. but artifact got me so much hooked that I currently also have MTG Arena and Gwent installed. And honestly? Even after trying everything else, Artifact still got the best gameplay.

You should be able to share decks with friends. I haven't ever tried it, but from the faq at steamcommunity.com/games/583950/announcements/detail/1721959164054855755
"In a private lobby you can borrow a deck from your opponent that is made up of cards you do not own."

From what I remember, I actually tried this, and it didn't work. Granted, it tried it pre-update, so perhaps it has already been implemented.

The problem with Artifact is the fact they put it behind a paywall to play ranked and to play the game in the first place...
All of their current games are free to play. CS:GO recently went to F2P. TF2 a while back. Dota 2 always has been. Plus, most (if not all) TCGs are free but with microtransactions such as card packs. They took the wrong route with Artifact, and now it's dead, and will stay that way unless they make it F2P and remove the paid requirement for ranked. Simple as that.
