You can do it. I have many people that learnt to do it through my videos. Just go through the videos and ask questions when you find something you don't understand, i would be available to answer and guide you.

No, you cannot connect AHD cameras to computer without Using a DVR

No, you don't need Internet for the router to function. The only reason why you may require internet would be when you need to access your cameras from a remote location far away from your cameras. Remote location means for example, you being in America and access your cctv installed at Nigeria.

There is no cap on the Megapixel value for indoor or outdoor locations, it all depends on what you can afford because the higher the Megapixel value (Resolution), the clearer the pictures produced by the camera and also the higher the price of the camera.

Video baluns are used to allow for the use of network cables to transmit Analogue CCTV camera videos to the DVR. They are not needed when you use coaxial cable for the use of video transmission

It is not recommended to get a DVR just because you are installing a single camera. It is uneconomical to do so. There are stand-alone cameras that can perform all functions without need for a DVR or even a screen. You may wish to consider such an option.
