I love your proposition to use frustration as a vehicle for introspection. So it's like your playing experience becomes a meditation of sorts. This also reminds me of one of the arguments in the whole "game difficulty" discussion, where some people said that hard game made them better person by teaching them to deal with failure in their lives.

great interview! Nice topics and advice! While I do enjoy just doing standard runs, whenever I dive deeper and do training modes or Save States practice, thats when I really learn a lot and get better at the game which gives me that extra oomph to get the 1cc. The M2 training modes for Darius Cozmic Collection and G-Darius were vital to my success with those games. I also love using the Arcade challenge modes in the M2STG releases, which are basically built-in save states, they gamify the whole practice experience.
Glad you enjoyed this one! It was definitely a fun one to dig into even though each of these topics could easily have their own standalone talk. Some of these I'm actually aiming to do more with, but we'll see when they pan out!
