Ah this game, how I played it to death when I was a kid and even in my 30's I revisit it from time to time. I can appreciate this level for it's funky, futuristic, Egyptian themed design and it's challenging gameplay but yeah this did kill me a lot back in the day. And I never knew how to get to the bonus stage at 6-2 so it proves you are never too old to learn new things! Great gameplay!
While the game received mostly positive reviews when it first came out, it unfortunately didn't sell that well since it was released late in the Genesis' lifespan, and it was also overshadowed by the Sega Saturn. Ristar has made cameos in some other SEGA games like Shenmue, Segagaga, and All-Stars Racing Transformed, so he isn't forgotten at least.
@@QuadFactor21 Yeah... I like to think that they keep rereleasing it in hopes that people with notice it, and give Sega and excuse to create a sequel. Probably not the case but I can hope lol
@N lol yeah, I decided to leave that death in because I was getting tired of restarting from the beginning of world over and over again after failing the 6-2 bonus stage so many times.
Nice playthrough, this world was always my hardest though now its less difficult to beat. Just noticed someone saying something about Inonis (blue scientist dude) and Uranim kissing 💀
I can't say this planet is bad for me, but here's my downsides, that one part where you have to go up the Horizonal poles and it has spikes on the top in 6-1, yeah, it took me a lot of attempts to get up there. and second off, I'm still stuck on the god damn bonus stage of 6-2. why do I have to do all of that? am I playing getting over it on that bonus stage of is it just me?
You're not the only one, that bonus stage is tricky and requires a lot of precise timing, and believe it or not, it took A LOT of attempts to get a good enough run of this whole planet. I did die that one time, but I was just so done with this place, I just said screw it and moved on. XD
@@QuadFactor21 well, one thing, I play this game on an Xbox 360 and the why is the joy stick more used to than the d-pad? its hard to do the diagonal grab and/or swich to stargate grab. (Sonic's ultimate genesis collection is a game that has a crap toon of genesis games, including Sonic 1-3, Ristar, Ecco the dolphin, Alex Kidd in the enchanted castle, and more.) plus, do you even know the game "Getting Over it with Bennett Foddy"?

Not enough people talk about how filthy this beat is, Sega Genesis used to blast people socks off with music
It kinda baffles me there hasnt been any sequels to ristar because its such a great and amazingly designed game

I like how the most technologically advanced planets are also the most evil.
I'm guessing they were going for a nature vs. technology narrative with this game.
@@QuadFactor21 Like Star Wars.
I love factory levels.
@@QuadFactor21yeah though still, imo a completely artificial planet like Automaton is an insanely cool concept.
I fell in love with them ever since I was first introduced to the Scrap Brain Zone.
I don't think I ever cracked that final special stage. Mad respect for that.
I did…it took me a crap load of attempts to master it. But hey, I got it done.
I did.. once.. and I skipped all of the other levels
You're amazing at this game!
I wouldn't call myself amazing, but thanks anyway!

yes!
I remember playing this game and it gave me good vibes! Also good gameplay!
Part 1 got a slapping beat 🎶

World Automaton
I was so close to get the good ending
what
This planet is actually really fun when you put on the CANDY password in the Japan version
What does that do? I have never heard of that password.
@@QuadFactor21 the password if I'm correct gives you invincibility but it sucks that it's only on the Japanese version
@@thegeekgaming414 I'm playing it and it's HELL
@@MiraitowaOlympicsfan2005 it was hell for me too the first time through now it's kinda easy I still find the final boss hard
@@thegeekgaming414 It took me more than 40 times to defeat him
I also like the music tdh
11:04 now that I see Uranim I want to see Uranim and Ionis kiss
Wonderful..
I like the spikes because the shape and uhhh... idk how to say it 😢 but itz ok thats why ilike it
How come this is the only stage where ristar gets new shoes?
Those were added to the US version to explain why Ristar "swims" in 6-1. In the Japenese version, there was nothing to indicate the change in gravity.
@@QuadFactor21 Yeah, he swims in that invisible water after those shoes equipped.
I can t pass the 6-1 level plz help me
Is this the final stage? Playing on the genesis version and I’m not sure of this is it.
No, there's still one more planet after this one.
@@QuadFactor21 thanks. I’m glad I’m almost finished because this was HELL
Its Not Easy For Me
I think the brain maze sucks even with hyper mode on [code: feel]

This world is bs becuse ITS HARD
Well I mean of course its gonna get hard its not gonna hold your hand the whole way like most modern games do

I hate that world
I hate this game
I love this game!
@@SydeLeaderRay me too! I just wish the levels were easier
@@TboiEnjoyer8 Yeah, especially some of the bosses (Awaueck, Itamor etc.), Greedy took me 3 years to defeat.
