    First I tell my self what kind of person I want to be,
    then I must do what I have to do.
    I must build up my life action by action,
    and be content if each action achieves its goal as far as possible--
    and nothing can keep this from happening.
    I must compose my self;
    my self is a thing I compose,
    as one composes a speech.
    It is in our darkest moment that we must focus to see the light.

    It’s paradoxical that humans are socially-wired creatures, yet true happiness comes when we live our own lives without worrying what the herd thinks. Here’s wishing everyone luck with their true goals!

    Do not be swayed by other people's opinions. Make up your mind, be your own judge of what is right for you and never compare yourself to others.They have their own agendas. Contentment comes from living within our own hopes and dreams.

    My idol is leonardo da vincci who lived a modest life but he gives tremendous contribution to humanity intellectually and sensually. That I think is a true success in life.

    I guess one of the hardest is to go against your parents' ambitions for you. They are literally the reason you exist but... what if your goal and their goal aren't the same?

    • @attonapz6081
      @attonapz6081 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Goals...It's all about how the patent(s) raised, nurtured, and treated that child, will determine if they will have similar goals.

      Not all parents are good people. If your parents are good people, they'll be happy to see you succeed at whatever goals it is you set for yourself.

    Great, simple and easy to apply advice! Of course, happiness and optimism has been studied, most notably by Martin Seligman, PhD and he has some additional advice on how to actually do it. He describes the "explanatory style" of life events that optimists and pessimists use. Optimists tell themselves that bad things are temporary, isolated and external to themselves. Pessimists tell themselves that bad events are permanent, pervasive and internal.
    Alternatively, when good events happen, optimists see it is permanent, pervasive and internal whereas pessimists see it is as temporary, isolated and external to themselves. Changing your "explanatory style" using cognitive-behavior techniques is a great way to increase optimism. Add in some forgiveness over bad past events, a strong support system and social network as well as doing something meaningful such as charity work or volunteering, and you can increase happiness!

    • @ann29light

      hey, I just wanna give a little insight from my own experience. I used to struggle with that a lot, not knowing what to do in life, so I ended up trying to do a lot of things... that I ended up hating. and while doing those things I hate, I found my mind saying, "ah, I'd rather be doing _______ than this." and even though it was a bit time consuming, I finally found what I really want to do by doing things I hate. and another thing for me, that thing I really want to do, I love the process more than the result, so no matter if I fail or succeed, I will still feel fulfilled.
      this is from my own personal experience, others might be different, but I hope this helps :)
