  • The Piscifun Alijoz Baitcaster is a 100$ reel that comes in two speeds a 5.9 to 1 and a 8.1 to1. Follow us to see how long these bad boys last, and if they can hold up to the beating I'm going to put on them. I'm tossing giant musky lures on these bait casters all year so if you wanted one of them but didn't know if they would last find out here!

    I bought my first 8.1 with power handle 3 years ago. Used it a couple of trips and bought 2 more both 5.9 and 8.1. 3 years later Piscifun replaced most of my reels. I'm a 99% saltwater kayak fisherman and have landed everything from scup, tautog, stripers and salmon. 2 of my main reels have caught over 5,000 fish in shallow water. The 5.9 is strictly for heavy setup for deep sea jigging that i also took with me to Alaska and landed a 141# halibut. The reels are generally smooth after 3 years with the 5.9 shows a bit of wear and tear. My only maintenance is to spray them down with freshwater as soon as I get off the water. Definitely gonna take them apart at the end of this season. What these inexpensive reels drawn to me at the beginning is being a kayak fisherman it's hard to justify the expensive fishing setup. Losing a setup while having fun is a painful experience, LOL. And if able to get 2 seasons out of them with the trips and fishing I do it's money well spend, That said, I'm currently on overtime.

    Honestly, I just have a really heavy duty 15 lb to 40 lb MH spinning rod with a 4000 size spinning reel and 50 lb braid with a 40 lb wire leader and I catch Muskie and Pike with that all day and I'm pretty happy with that. I have used baitcasters in the past and I guess I'm just very unlucky when it comes to getting a good baitcaster. Because they always come defective to me so I eventually gave up on baitcasters but I am considering getting back into them next season so I'm looking at reviews left and right currently.

    Great reels. Have both. 3 years in and not issues. Dropped once and broke the msg pack loose, 1 email and two weeks later had a free replace mag pack at door. Dropped a rod in the River and cam back two days later, dec 10 fished her out and it still cast great. Easy to service yourself. There 2/100 series reels are just as good.

    Great video. I bought the high speed Piscifun Alijoz for a backup reel for my backup reels (Shimano 300/400 Tranx). In June I fished Great Slave for Northern Pike. I decided to start with the Piscifun. I got 24 over 40", and at least 100 over 35", stupid insane fishing. I used it all week with 65 lb. Suffix and had zero issues. I just got another with the power handle and will be getting the lower gear one with a power handle to jig lake trout on Great Slave in 20 days (doing my bucket list). I also fish Muskie, but use the high speed Tranxs for rubber and the lower speed Tranxs for double 9/10's. The reel is a little small for the big stuff, but great for topwaters and twitch baits. 65 lb. is about as heavy as you want to go on this reel. I actually was winching 36"+ northerns in to get them unhooked as fast as possible. I beat the shit out of this reel. When I first started muskie fishing we used 36lb. dacron, so 65 lb. is super strong. I do mainly use 80 lbs. on my Tranx 400's and 100 lb. on the 500. Their Carbon X spinning reels and also underpriced for what you get.

      1000% dude I love everything Piscifun has I run 80 lbs on my Alijoz, for 100$ you can't go wrong it preforms the same as my 400$ reels. I'm going on season 2 and still no issues, they're my main reel now! never going back

    Dude I really appreciate the perspective on this, I was considering getting one to try for a downsized setup. I have realized I need to go with a 300 size reel even for downsized musky applications the bass gear just doesnt hold up. Now just to find an effective downsized rod to pair it with haha!

    • @alldaygrind9349

    If you could only buy one for musky, would you prefer the slow (5.9) or fast (8.1) retrieve reel and why?

    • @alldaygrind9349
      @alldaygrind9349  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      8.1 because the small spool size and that gear ratio is perfect for almost all technics! I find the 5.9 is too slow and my clients have trouble reeling fast enough with it. 8.1 paddle handle all day baby! … PS check out the new vid we put up for the 2 year review it’s a banger!

    "Ooooh its a fuckin shallow raider" 😂😂
    But dude good video I started using an okuma citrix with a powerhandle which is 140$ but can be 120$ with a paddle handle. I've been using it more than the tranx 400 abd lexa hd 400 I've got. Hell I'm even trolling with it because it's got a clicker on it too which even the other two don't. If the border ever opens you can throw it for a day

      way overkill,,,,,its got enough drag for 100 pound class tuna k,,,,,,,bass wont even make the drag slip

    • @andrewbickel1450
      @andrewbickel1450 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly why I'm getting mine, I've blown up a Tatula 100 and Lews KVD plus a couple cheaper reels over the past 2 years fishing for bass out of some really dense pads and grass . Those small reels just don't take 5-6 days a week "Rippn' Lips" out of this cover with 4-6# LM. I'm thinking this will have the drag to set and pull them out. Does anyone know how well it may cast 3/4 oz or 5/8 oz frog????🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏
