Hi Lesley. The cushions made from your dad's clothes will be treasured. Your handspun mitred shawl looked super cosy. We've had a beautiful sunny day, and I've managed to sit out in the garden and test run the new furniture. Have a good bank holiday. Take care. Xx
Hi Angela - glad you were able to enjoy the bank holiday, having recently had some busy weekends. Hope the furniture lived up to expectations xx Thanks and take care xx
Your Hobnob sweater pillows turned out wonderful I'm sure they will love them! Your mitered shawl is so cozy, thanks for keeping me company on this rainy day 😊 xx
Hi Alice - sorry that you're having rain, but thanks for being here. The shawl is cosy and a lot of fun to make. Take care and happy time at the trailer xx
Oh my, you brought back some memories - when we were kids we would "help" with the ironing and always started with flat things, mostly our dad's handkerchiefs. Like your dad, he always carried a cloth hankie with him, and sometimes they were monogrammed. Thanks for the smile. The pillows are such a lovely idea - what a wonderful keepsake.
Your shawl is amazing. I can’t wait to see both of your sweaters completed. I love hearing how you ply various yarns together. Learning a lot from you. 😊
Thanks Karen - that is very kind. I have, of course, started something else, but both of those "plied" projects are still in the pipeline. Hope you are well xx
Love your finished shawl and the edging is perfect for the shawl. I hope the grandkids will cherish the memory cushions you made for them. I have one of my dad’s shirts. He passed away in 2005.
Hi Teresa - thanks so much. I kept one of my Dad's handkerchiefs - not sure what I'm going to do with it, but definitely not throwing it out. Hugs and thanks to you xx
The colors in your spun yarn are so pretty. The pillows you made are beautiful, what wonderful memories for the grandchildren. The shawl is beautiful and looks so warm and squishy. I have the same problem with work getting in the way of my crafting time. I feel like it take forever to have a finished item. Have a great week. 🧶😀
Your cushions are great I’m sure the kids w8ll love them. Hope your time with your sister is so much fun I love all the projects with your hand spun keep well
I love your shawl! The edging works well, and a wonderful cast off :-) Your yarns are a beautiful. I don't mind hearing Heidi, just means she is on guard! lol Take care.
Hi Linda. As long as Miss B isn't disturbed by Heidi's barking, we're good. I was pleased with that shawl edging - it was a "try and see" and worked well - one that I will do again, I'm sure. Thanks and hope all is well xx
I really love your shawl and will be getting the pattern for a future project- many thanks! Lovely video today ( with voice over from miss Heidi) I can’t believe it’s nearly June already! I hope you have a lovely time when your sister visits and the weather stays dry! Take care and thank you x
Thanks Heather - weather may be the key for my sister's visit, as we'll be looking to do outdoor things, but if not, I'm sure we'll find tea and cake to consume! Thanks so much and hope you are keeping well xx
Thanks so much - if I were to wear the shawl "bandana style" the point would make sense, but this way suited me better. Thanks for being here and hope all is well xx
your cushions are brilliant. such a wonderful heartfelt keepsake for your father's grand children. i really enjoyed coming on to barbara's zoom meeting last saturday. I live in worthing, so not that far from you. 😃
Heidi using some absolutely shocking language there. And my mum's family were all sailors! That's a lovely way to use your dad's old cardigans and shirts. I've seen people make quilts out of old shirts before.
Love your FO! You are a master at combining yarns and colors! I'm really over triangle shawls, so I love the fact that you rounded the bottom of your shawl, and the picot border is perfect.
Thanks so much! I don't mind a triangle, as I tend to wear shawls with the "tails" over my shoulders and most of it at the back - but that bottom point would have just meant I was always sitting on it! Thanks again and take care
Your HobNob pillows are so sweet; they are a hug from your dad. I love your wrap from your hand-spun yarn; the colors and pattern are gorgeous. I am plodding along knitting an Artus shawl. It is quite a a project as I have never done mosaic knitting, and a challenge especially when a hot flash and 80-degree weather converge…not so much fun. Cheers!
Nice podcast. Don’t be too hard on yourself for not finishing much. You have an amazing shawl and some beautiful cushions! That is more than I tend to finish in a month. You also dealt with a lot of ‘life’ issues. Take care and keep enjoying the process.
Thanks Susanne - I know that you're right, I'm just also conscious that I'm supposed to be hosting a crafting podcast, so feel a bit of a cheat if there isn't much crafting. But it's all meant to be fun, and that's the aim, not the FOs. Thanks and take very good care xx
Hi Lucy - you know it. I've recently read one of the Eoin Colfer's follow ons (or increases to the "trilogy" and enjoyed them). Thanks and take care xx
What an enjoyable and quite useful episode! First... many manyeth! I'm so going to steal that. And I love the cushions you made from your father's shirts and handkerchiefs! And last... I love the Recalibrate you wore, went straight to your link and bought the pattern. And thank you for turning me on to Shana B. Cohen, I've favorited her as a designer now. Wonderful episode, thank you very much!
Hi Mirjam - thanks so much - hope all is going along with you. The making up words thing? Well, if it was good enough for Shakespeare, it's good enough for me! Thanks and take care xx
Hi. I do love your keepsake cushions. They are fab. My mum nearly always used a hanky. I still have them as some are soo pretty. I don’t want to throw them out, so for now they are in a draw. Hope your hving a good weekend xx
Hi Dolly - that would explain the yarn stash and the cupboard full of shawls and sweaters I don't wear! Thanks so much and hope all is good with you xx
Hiya. It's such an adaptable pattern, and with the oversized fit, quite forgiving for thick and thin yarns (an aspect that I need to consider). Hope you enjoy it, if you make one xx
I do admire your 3-ply yarn. I'm tempted to learn to spin leading to an e-spinner, all of which would cut into knitting time needed to deal with my stash situation. Hmmm. 42!
Hi Marsha - that's why I resisted spinning for a long time. And yes, it does increase stash and reduce knitting time... but I rather like it... Thanks and take care xx
Loved all the orange/ yellow plied yarn Lesley. Looking forward to seeing what you will create with it. Have a most wonderful time with your sister - would love to see some of her work as, in not being an artist, love seeing what others produce. Does she use watercolours or oils? x
Hi Muireann - thanks for this - I've checked with my sister and she's happy for me to put a few of her pics up - she tends to use watercolours in the main. Thanks so much. Hope all is well xx
As you talked about plying the yarn for your next cardigan, I was trying to separate 2 strands of 4ply used in the yellow jumper Mom has ripped out for me. It's taking ages 🙄 I'd already decided that a smaller, slightly fitted cardigan would be perfect using just one strand so I'm keen to see what your research for an alternative to the Magpie turns up 😁 Thanks for your assistance with this 😉
Hi Anne. Unplying yarn is certainly slower than plying it! I'm thinking of trying the "Turtle Dove Cardigan" by Melissa Clulow - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/turtle-dove-cardigan - it's a similar gauge, but a different kind of tailoring. I will just keep an eye as it says it has "deep raglans" - in larger sizes, that can mean round about the knees! Hope all is well. Thanks and take care xx
Your cushions came out lovely. And your finished shawl as well. 😊❤
Thanks Suzan - that's very kind. Hope all is good with you xx
Loves!! Happy knitting
Thanks so much - hope life is treating you kindly xx
Lesley, love the shawl and a great one you use work over your black dresses in winter time even over coat.
Thanks so much - yes, I'm hoping it will be a useful thing. Hope all is well with you xx
Awww Lesley the cushions are beautiful and such a brilliant idea ♥️love all your yarns xx
Thanks so much, Connie, Hope all is good with you xx
Lesley the lovely blue blouse looks very nice on you! It's your color. Hair looks great too.
You are very kind, Valerie. Thanks so much xx

Thanks Linda - that's very kind of you. Hope all is well xx
It's always a treat to see you Lesley! I think the silk shawl is going to be fabulous - the colour is 👌
Thank you - the silk is going to be a cardigan, but hopefully still fabulous! Hope you are well xx
Love those cushions. What a beautiful way to remember someone you love ❤
Thanks so much - a borrowed and adapted idea - Dad would appreciate the way that I cobbled them together! Hope all is well with you. xx
The spun yarn is gorgeous. The colors are glorious and will be happy to knit.
Thanks Jo - I am looking forward to finding a project for it xx

I adore your memory pillows. Brilliant!
Thanks so much - I am pleased with how then turned out (but wouldn't want them to be examined by a sewing expert!). Take good care xx
Love it all😊
You are very kind - thanks Michelle xx
Love the mitred shawl.
Thanks Lynette - it was a quick make and a fun pattern. Hope all is well with you xx

Lesley, thanks for ideas for the great things for mentos of special human beings in our lives.
Thank you - it was an adaptation of someone else's idea, but I was glad to add the personal touches. Take good care xx
Oh Lesley, your handspun shawl is so so gorgeous, definitely my kind of big squishy textured colourful shawl 😍 I am bookmarking her page! Hugs xx 🤗
Hi Susan - there are lots of fun patterns on her website! Thanks and hope all if well xx
Those hobnob pillows are such a great idea.
Thanks Jacqueline - an adaptation of someone else's idea, but I was pleased with how they turned out. Thanks and take care xx

I love the Hob Nob pillows, Lesley. Comfort cushions, for sure. Also, I liked the way you squared off the point of the mitered shawl.
