$104,000 restoration! It is mechanical jewelry. I spoke with the gentleman that restored this car for a wealthy collector. There were 28 premium cars in the collector's estate. This was a no expense spared restoration, stripped down until there was nothing more to take apart. Every piece was replaced or restored. There is a detailed restoration log book. The 79,000 miles on the odometer is original, only 1,500 miles since finished.
It is also a rare and special car. #1,051 of 2,000 Principality of Monaco limited editions made. The package includes dark rose color landau top, padded dash and carpet. It also features wood grain trim and genuine leather upholstery. Ford presented car #1 to Prince Ranier of Monaco.
EXTERIOR: The body was taken down to a bare shell. The body has no rust at all. It is straight and the panels fit precisely. It was repainted it's original corinthian white using premium primer sealer and acrylic paint. Every single piece of chrome was replated to show quality. Every single piece of stainless trim was straightened and polished like new. When I say every piece of trim, I mean every piece from the window frames to the headlight bezels. Those are restored original Kelsey Hayes wires wheels ($3,500) with Thunderbird spinners. All 5 tires are Good Years. The glass is original, it was removed and polished. The rose color top is also the original in very nice condition. The door jambs are painted slick, the latches were replated. All weather strips and seals were replaced.
INTERIOR: Absolutely first class. Glove soft white leather upholstery, wood grain trim, rose color accents and plenty of sparkling chrome. It was completely gutted including the dash and console. They lined it with sound deadener. The dash pad was reupholstered. The components in the dash were restored and reinstalled, everything functioned. The heater box was apart and restored. It has the swing away wheel which was professionally restored. The center console was restored. New rose carpet was installed and some custom Thunderbird mats. The seats were restored, recushioned and reupholstered. The seats are all leather, no vinyl. It has the correct chrome piping. New white headliner and visors. The door panels look new. Right down to the little bits and pieces, everything is beautiful looking. It features power windows and locks, both systems were rebuilt. It has functional power seat. Every light works, every bulb in the car was replaced. The original radio was rebuilt with modern guts.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is concourse restored in the engine compartment. The components are rebuilt and detailed. The 390-300 hp motor was completely rebuilt, a spec sheet is included. It runs smooth. The exhaust manifolds were ceramic coated. The air conditioning system was completely restored. It features power steering and brakes. The hinges are cadmium plated, it has the hood insulation, reproduction stickers and the washer bag. Every last nut and bolt it is like new.

I really like how the gentleman presents the cars. I've been reading some of the comments, and I see where some people are saying how he goes on and on about this vehicle. But I personally like his style and presentation, and the fact that he is enthusiastic about a vehicle is great! Certainly he has been around enough vehicles to know when one stands out head and shoulders above the rest. And I especially like it when he points out the small flaws and imperfections when reviewing a vehicle, especially since some of these are difficult to see in pictures. If my ship comes in, I'd certainly love to purchase this vehicle. I have always admired the Ford Thunderbird. However, should I be able to purchase it, my only problem would be that the vehicle is so spectacular, I'd be afraid to drive it, LOL!!

I good friend of mine has a '62 ...... That's where the similarity ends ! Jay. I'm slightly confused . You said on your video that the shop next door spent $104,000 on a lmpala but in your write up the "T" bird had $104,000. Additionally was this particular car presented to Prince Ranier ? Sorry , not trying to trip you up. You know that's not what l do. This car is so detailed it really should be a museum piece , fabulous ! Well , thanks Jay for keeping us all amused in this very difficult year and lets hope 2021 treats us all to a peaceful and healthy time. Happy New Year everyone !

Wow! I wouldn't even know where to start with accolades for this one .... I'm a sucker for the 60s Ford line-up anyways, and this car is absolutely stunning. Your video cameras caught the rose color vinyl top perfectly! I notice that the lines and fitment on this one are to perfection, right down to to positioning of the exhaust!! This car seems to have everything to spot-on perfection!
Coming back to edit, I must add .... We can always tell when Mr. Grams is really stoked with passion for a vehicle!!! Lol .... He goes on, and on ... Lol .... Another one of his 'presentational qualities' that make the Volo channel what it is! His call to every detail is the best. From minor imperfections, right up to perfect finish, chrome and fitment. Please don't ever change what you're doing!!!

Beautiful car that has obviously received a lot of love. But, it never ceases to amaze me how many cars that have received "no expense sparred restorations" and the back-up lights don't work . . . . count this car on that list. Makes you wonder what else was missed.

It's certainly a Beautiful car to say the least, however, I've decided to mute the Video, as I get tired of the guy saying this so nice! Look at the straight body an chrome
mirrors, it's so nice. Could you imagine what they want for the car like the nice car has only 108000 low miles on it (so nice) and we are asking $56,900. We thought that was
    a nice price!

  • @kingkrimson8771

NOT genuine Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels, these are more modern versions. Engine displacement decals did not appear on T-Bird air cleaners until the '65 model year, a common mistake when restoring these cars.
