This is my favorite Barris creation. I think his over-the-top style works so well here. Dracula himself would be proud to drive this one. :)=
Happy to read this one is a favorite of yours :-)
I'm 62 and as a teen remember seeing The Batmobile and the Munsters' cars in Barrises' storefront of his shop on Riverside Dr . A slightly older friend of mine would occasionally hang around with Barris and his crew inside the shop in the early 70's.
Hi Jose Jimenez, Sounds like FUN memories :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I read somewhere that one day Fred Gwynne loaded up the cast and took the car out the Studio Gate and drove about drove a few miles down the Hollywood Freeway before turning around and coming back!....what a ride that must have been!
Good times, good times :-)
Especially if the cast was in full costume. What a sight it would've been!
Wow, love the musters got it on dvd
Nice :-)
Always loved the Barris cars
Hi Troy Brown, Glad you enjoyed this one :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Wonderful to see an authentic original like this one. Funny, when I was a kid I always thought the Munster Koach had this huge monstrous engine judging by the intake stacks, and come to find out it's a 289. I laugh about that thought now. What an awesome piece of work this is.
Hi TC, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Hope you see many more cars on this TH-cam Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
I saw one of the Koaches on display, many years ago. The Ford V-8 had been replaced by an Oldsmobile. I had a good laugh.
Thanks for viewing & sharing.
I would pay huge for this coach.
I wish herman muster and family was driving it

The Origional car had radar mag wheels not cragars like this one and also now impossible to find perrelli inferno front tires
Hi moparrocker, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
moparrocker : "impossible to find perrelli inferno front tires" if Coker Tires does not have them, they still be able to make them. If you can't get the tires from Coker, then no one can get the tires.
Wow, such a sweet car!! You should check out the Ed "Big Daddy" Roth-Rat Fink museum in Manti, Utah someday Lou. Really cool place. Ed built very retro hot rods
Glad you enjoyed this one. Good info to know about the museum. Thanks for sharing, Lou
Roth designed customs of the period, nothing to do with retro.
How can this and their Dragula copies be more authentic then the real ones?
Hmmm, that would be interesting to pull off.
Nice !

10 carb stacks, 8 exhaust ? HUH? What engine is this?
It should be a 289 Ford.
Mark G is correct. Although Barris claimed it was enlarged to 425” (how I do not know) I have learned to take all Barris claims with a grain or six of salt.
A different engine
I read the 8 carbs where fake and hid a 4 barrel. But the last few vids I've seen claim the carbs are hooked up. Anyone know the truth? Seems like alot of work not to be real
Hi Mike S, I have no idea on the carb question, however I wonder based on if there are others replicated, they may all have different setups. Hoping a Viewer can share knowledge to your question, Lou
تصميم السيارة رائع جدا بالفعل تصلح لأن توضع بالمتحف .

Iam glad find your channel
Differently watch your channel
George Barris was the man
Agreed :-)
Can't see how Herman could have fit in that?
Hi Brucifer Mephistopheles, Hmmm, interesting point! Thank you for viewing and sharing. Hope you see many more cars on the Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
Herman (Fred Gwynne) was a very tall actor once in his costume and could not fit into the Koach. They had to remove the driver's seat to get the shots of him actually behind the wheel. He commented the ride was not very good whilst sitting on the floor!
Hear about uncertain t car
Was missing 50 years
Galpin speed shop as it
Good to know.
why TEN carburetors on a V8 ?
Not sure, and yet so unique.
I've wondered this myself and also would like to know what intake manifold was used. I would like to find one
Looks too good to drive.
+J Dodgeaspen I believe you're correct :-), thanks for viewing, Lou
Aww! They wrecked it. They gaudied it up.
Hi William, Clearly this one is not for you :-( Hope you see many more cars on this TH-cam Channel you'll enjoy :-) Lou
the original Munster coach had a skeleton head on the top of the shifter
+2right4words Hi, Thanks for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
Munster Koach #2 had the skull shifter knob, not the original Koach. Koach #1 first had a Ball shifter knob like this one, but was changed to a T-Shift handle in 1965 and is first seen in the episode 'Hot Rod Herman". No one knows why it was changed, maybe because it made it eaiser for Fred Gwynne to drive. But the car was getting abused, some pieces were falling off and parts were getting taken as well. This is one of my dream cars, I know it and have studied it very well, so I know what it had and didn't have. Here is a color photo of Koach #1 with the T-Shift knob, www.munsterkoach.com/dragstripCU.htm
This is the one that you are thinking of, Koach# 2 that George Barris built in the 80s, with the skull shifter knob and auto trans., after he sold the original Koach. www.munsterkoach.com/newkoach7.htm
So glad I videoed this car that you enjoy. Thanks for the details in your comment, Lou

Koach #1 first had a Ball shifter knob like this one, but was changed to a T-Shift handle in 1965 which was first seen in the episode 'Hot Rod Herman". To my knowledge there was no reason ever ever given as to why it was changed. Possibly because it made it eaiser for Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis to drive, even on rare occasions, Yvonne DeCarlo drove it. Possibly even after the bigger more powerful engine was put in, Barris decided he had to change the shifter handle. Also, the car was getting abused, some pieces were falling off and parts were getting taken as well, so someone may have taken the shifter ball as a souvenir. This is one of my dream cars, I know it and have studied it very well, so I know what it had and didn't have. No details at all! Motor, prep whereabouts of other coaches, etc. Was a Ford small block right??!!
I see you're Sub to Doug Demuro. That will be the right Channel for all your statistical needs.
@@loucostabile No,I meant in many other interviews you got into details with the owners. With this iconic car-it was very non informative and short.Doug is more of a skit, making fun of it's quirks(the cars).I will watch both channels.Because,I love cars.
More authentic than the original,??????????? Not even close, and worth low dollars, just sayin'
Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge.
