    REAL DEAL! No doubts. 1 of only 57 made total. Verified by experts, listed in Darell Davis' book by the vin registry. Extremely rare original invoice. The car has been verified by experts and has a binder of documentation pertaining to it's history and restoration. 26,000 actual miles.
    FACTORY RACE CAR. First stock passenger car to ever beat 12 seconds in the 1/4 mile. 410 horsepower, factory dumps on the exhaust!
    EXTERIOR: Professionally restored to probably better than new condition. Virtually rust free, damage free car. We have photos of it stripped down to a bare metal shell. The hidden order #s on the radiator support and under the rear package tray match. Completely repainted it's original Silhouette black. It was blocked and polished to look like a mirror from the rockers to the roof. Jambs are painted slick. The exterior stainless has been straightened and polished, grill is restored. Chrome has been restored- bumpers, hood and trunk trim, emblems etc. Plastic medallions, taillights are mint. Weatherstrips and seals are replaced. The rims are painted, has reproduction Goodyear tires. Also included are NOS correct hubcaps, because of it's race car heritage some people prefer leaving the rims bare.
    INTERIOR: Completely restored. The cushions are nice and firm, seats have been reupholstered. Door panels and carpet are new. Dash metal has been repainted. The knobs, buttons, instrument panel are very good original. Has pushbutton automatic shifter. These came standard with a manual 3-speed, a 4-speed was not available. The optional automatic was quicker. The headliner looks to be very good original. Includes two sets of floor mats and seat belts in front.
    ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Armed with twin 659cfm Carter AFB carburetors mounted in tandem, the 413 made 410 horsepower. Chrysler arrived at the 413 by stroking the B-Block 383, which had been around since 1959, into a taller-deck B-Block known as the “Raised-Block B-Block,” or “RB-Block” V-8. It had a bore of 4.19 inches, a stroke of 3.75, solid lifters, dual valve springs to combat valve float over 6000 rpm, magnafluxed rods, wedge-shaped combustion chambers, and short-ram induction manifolds. The Plymouth’s engine bay was too narrow to allow the 413’s exhaust headers to exit downward. So Chrysler routed the cast-iron headers upward first in a ram’s-horn sweep that, along with the tandem carbs, became a trademark of this “maximum wedge” engine. Has the upside down T on the side of the block which is unique to 1962. Also has unique shaped oil pan. Has rare correct radiator, carbs and nos air cleaners. Painted real nice, has original fender tag. Wiring, alternator, everything looks excellent.

    They call it a max wedge because the heads are wedge-shaped, not because they had to wedge it into the car. That is a perfect one!

    • @alking4153
      @alking4153 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I owned one and max wedge is because it was Cramed in nothing to do with the heads

      @@alking4153 I am sorry but you are incorrect. It’s because of the shape of the combustion chambers. There are street wedge and a Max wedge heads that came out. You can still purchase aftermarket wedge heads today and if your lucky you can find some originals 👍

    Actually this car looks better than the wildly looking 62 dodge dart. It was downsized way ahead of it's time. It looks very agile

    I’m sorry... but this is a muscle car! And it predates the ‘64 GTO... maybe not as mass-produced though. What a beautiful machine!

    What a magnificent car Jay! There's an old saying here in Ky that says "sharp as a hounds tooth".
    No fancy wheels needed for this car. The standard rims are perfect for this rare machine.
    Great car and great presentation as usual Jay.

    Sharp looking Fury. I gladly call it Black Beauty. Police, sheriff, and DPS officers likely hate a car like this. Vrrrooommm!

    Max Wedge gets its name from the 413's wedge-shaped combustion chamber (as opposed to the Hemi's hemispherical chamber). And, of course, Max indicates it's the highest horsepower version.

    And people say the GTO was the first muscle car.

    • @rollofffrank2008

      This is a factory racecar, no rally wheels or special badges like later muscle cars that were made to appeal to the public. That is what makes these cars special, not good looking but the fastest car on the road. Most were automatic because the torqueflite trans was the only one that could handle the power.

    What a true Blessing Volo is to the serious car enthusiast!! This is another absolutely gorgeous find. It doesn't surprise me to see that this one's sold!! I grew up in a Mopar family, so naturally have great love for this one. I remember well the introduction of this 413 Wedge! Wow!! Talk about nostalgia!! I always have to congratulate the folks at Volo on these great finds, and of course to their new owners! May all stay safe and well. Again, thank you all at Volo.

    great muscle car beautiful and powerful and it would be painted black and that would play the role of a bad racer on the road and that would be afraid of him at the sight and hear the sound of his powerful engine

    • @Nebulasecura
      @Nebulasecura 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most track cars had to take off the hubcaps so they don’t spin off and hit the audience at high speed. It’s possible that they came with this car, just not put on, to have that look.

    You'd think Volo would know what a '70 Camaro looks like. Two different front end treatments but the rear spoiler on their "70 model" was a bright red flag to those of us with real '70s that we could let our girlfriends drive in that race. Hahaha. And win easily. Those boat tail spoilers were 71 and UP and indicated an engine very similar to the '70LT1...minus a full compression point and a net 100 horsepower after both tuned. Not certain about times slow ones ran but my PURE stock with air injector emission junk and street tires went 13.60 Onna good pass. 12.90z after headers and skinny slicks. Buried my share of big block chevelles, and one 427 '69 Camaro that shoulda been a couple classes above me. Oh, and one LS-6 who didn't bother to prepare for an old 3600 pound small block Camaro that commuted daily from n.w. Okc to Norman (SOONERS) Oklahoma. He complimented me on my win and told me when I'd see him at Okc Raceway. I did. He did. And his 12.10 slip proved we had nothing to race about. Props. It was Parks Prince, or Prince Parks. Semi-mechanic. And Damn GOOD Chevy man. It was red.
