Thank you!
I hope everyone is feeling better soon! I will really enjoy seeing the transformation of your daughter’s bedroom, too. 😃 Enjoy your time in the US. 🙏❤️
Thanks!
Amanda, so sorry you’ve been ill and hope you are on the mend. Your filming, Lincoln’s drone shots, the music selections are just excellent…your home is lovely. The walled garden is especially beautiful this year. Glad none of the kitties escaped and hope no bat is making a home in the chateau! ❤❤
Me too 🦇
I hope you and your daughter get well soon. .. The updates you all provide are always heartwarming 😊
Suggestion: Do a rubbing (on paper) of the fireplace backing in your daughter's room. It's not hard to do and, if it turns out nice, you can frame it and hang it somewhere. Look for rubbings for relief sculpture for ideas.
I sure hope you and your daughter feel a 100% better soon.
😊
Thank goodness you are recovering! And your poor daughter, two weeks in the US, and she’s ill! The best laid plans…….
you garden is looking spectacular ❤. The fact you grow celery is amazing! All the best!
Thanks! I think the donkeys will appreciate the extra celery :)
The history of those old homes is so interesting !! I'm so sorry you and your daughter have been sick. I hope you both are better today.
"Why's that funny?" - I find myself frequently saying that to my daughters! Glad you're back.
I really look forward to your videos. Thank you! Hope you feel better and recover quickly.
I enjoy watching your channel. I look forward to seeing more on the history of your Chateau.
Awe Amanda, Sorry about Covid😢 feel better 🎉
Looking forward to seeing the finished bedroom!❤
My mother in law had a plum tree ( she lived in Switzerland). She would freeze her pitted plums and then in winter stew them slightly and put them on ice cream she had added cinnamon to. In the winter this was a great dessert, I enjoyed it every time.
That does sound delicious, and special!
I've watched your channel since the beginning. You inspire me! I love how you and Lincoln are so calm and I dearly love your dry senses of humor! Thank you both for sharing your lives with me.
I hope you feel better quickly. It's always a drag when you should be relaxing, aren't, and sickness forces you to--not the same as a true vacation. I love the wood paneling in your daughter's bedroom. Have you thought of just paining the wood itself the same green as the walls? Old painted wood paneling is so lovely.
The fields with the rolled hay bales are my favorites when I see them in the fields… Seems to make the fields look so pretty. Thank you for sharing. I hope you are all feeling well again soon.
Love looking at your property. It's just beautiful. Stressful week for me and you just calmed me down. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
😊
So happy to see you back as I was missing you and getting a little anxious. There are still so many cases of covid in some areas but glad you are feeling better. Your video today was just what my soul needed....relaxing, scenic, warm and beautifully presented. Thank you so very much.
So glad that you are feeling well enough to film and edit again. I was getting concerned that something catastrophic might have happened in the cottage! Not that Covid does not feel pretty catastrophic to us when we are in its grip! Hope you will feel GOOD when it's time to travel and will have a marvelous time with family and friends in the U S. I enjoyed hearing about the history of the chateau and plans for your daughter's room. Stay well Lincoln! I know so well what it's like to be alone with Covid.
Yeah! This makes me happy❤Not that you had C but that you are back! Bless you
Wishing you excellent health and gentle recovery. Your land is bucolic, the cooper beach trees are beautiful. Don’t cut any fruit bearing trees down, the climate is so unpredictable you may be grateful to have it later. Enjoy your trip ‘home’ Amanda.
I’m so sorry to hear Amanda that you and your daughter got ill with Covid. You had such good intentions with your time to redo her room.😢 it’s the absolute worst when you’re on vacation and you’re ill or ill in the middle of summer. 😱
The wooden wall, you could even put fabric over it. Just a thought. Thanks for the beautiful aerial view gorgeous and lush views of your land. I hope you have a great trip and you feel better soon. Thank you so much for this out.
I came across your channel and had to go back to the beginning and watch all of them! I can't get enough! Hope you're feeling better soon and back to all the renovating! I am living vicariously through you!
Great! Happy you found us
that yellow is divine!! Hope you can use it in another room! Just sent this episode to my sister in Charlottesville - she just came down with covid. misery loves company
So glad you are back. Hope you are all feeling much better.
Have a great visit in the U.S., hopefully that will perk you up and make you feel better. Now, Lincoln, don't go and hurt yourself working in the cottage when you're on your own.
From the USA, we are hoping you and your daughter will be completely back to wellness soon. So sorry you have been through the Covid battle. I am sure your daughter’s room will be beautiful when finished. Enjoy your time in the USA before going back to work. Prayers and blessings to all the family.
Feel better Amanda. If you are traveling to the east coast it's been bloody hot so prepare yourself. Safe travels.
🥵
😊 Glad you are feeling better. Your daughters room will be beautiful when you are done. It will be worth the wait 😊
Recently I heard that if you have a relative that was born in one of the eu countries going back to the 1860s, you are able to get citizenship. You guys have inspired me to look into it.
Very enjoyable video; always appreciate your humor!
Happy days are here again!❤
Whats that old saying the best laid plans…
On the bright side it’s a nice break for you from the frenetic pace of all the work you’ve been doing. Though the planned trip to the beach sounded like a great idea. I hope you fit it into your schedule soon.
Love the garden scenes and really like that fruit tree that you don’t like.
Thanks for the history lesson. Very interesting stuff!
The music and scenery are beautiful as always but you two laughing at end was priceless!
Hope everyone is feeling better. I really think this is my favorite "chateau" channel. I love that you are a family making a home there. I love that you obviously respect the history of the place as you restore/rebuild, yet you are turning it into a home where modern living is possible. Also, I love all your animals. I wish you all every happiness.
The arial photos of the trees' colors and textures are so beautiful.
So sorry you have been ill. Have heard from many that the tests for covid (especially the home tests) are faulty and have been all along. Please get checked for pneumonia and sepsis. Many have bacterial pneumonia not covid and it's very serious. Be better and have a safe recovery. Love your round shredded hay bales in the field. My Dad had the same in Mass, years ago.
Thanks for the flyover Guy's and a bit of History on the property. That was so nice of the neighbor to give you the old layout of the property. Ugh! I don't even want to hear that word C-19, But Amanda hope you and your Daughter are feeling much better, and she finds her room touched up. Thanks for Sharing...
Glad to hear you are recovering! Enjoy your visit to the US. Your daughters bedroom is such a good size…Bon chance with your plans
Amanda, glad you are better! I finally got Covid last year - positive tests for 14 days. Up to date on every immunization available. Cannot imagine what it would have been like if I hadn’t had any! Stay away from Lincoln - temporarily, that is.
Amanda....such a good mom! Sorry to hear the two of you were not well and am glad that you both on the mend!! Your videos are always appreciated and I look forward to them. The drone shots and bird song are lovely in this video....thank you! I hope you have a good holiday and come back refreshed! 💗. Take care Lincoln!!
He never know what's coming next but usually likes it!
Feel better and enjoy your trip. Lincoln, stay healthy!
Watching this from bed since I have COVID too. Really seems like a resurgence here where I live in Florida
I am surprised by the large size of the daughters' bedroom. At least it looks huge on camera. It will be a gorgeous room when it is all done.
The red plums make a wonderful jam. Slightly sour and refreshing.
In south-east Europe, they are also used in all kind of savory cooking when you need acidity.
Bummed that your plans were put on pause. Hopefully, your time in the US is for vacation visits and not only for recuperation! -Twice I took a week off in recent months, and twice, I was down with covid that week. Verrrrrry hesitant to try it again! -Please take all the time you need to recover. Your lovely fields, projects, history observations and TH-cam friends will wait for you to feel more yourself. Be well!💃
Glad your feeling better. Your garden looks amazing.
Most likely they had Wrought iron gates originally.
Get well soon!!! An amazing chateau, I love it 🥰
Beautiful!❤
So sorry you were sick when you had some nice plans to relax together. Have a nice time in the States and take back lots of nice things for hubby
So glad you’re doing better! Can’t wait to see the completed room!
I love this channel. A beautiful château that you are renovating with such taste and class. The big plus is how you are both so calm, collected and understated......its amazing and admirable.
Thank you for sharing that fascinating chateau history. So great to have your daughter be able to translate archives of information about the chateau history.
So sorry for your illness. Hopefully, the entire family will complete the summer in good health.
Bonjour Amanda and Lincoln. I am so happy to hear you are feeling better. I am sorry your daughter had loss time on her holiday to covid. It is so interesting the history, I can't until you get into the archives, hopefully there will be a lot to see. Love from N.Y.
Really interesting about the history of your property. I hope as you find interesting things about it you share that. I'd love to see what the old chateau was like. Your garden is doing really well. I've wondered if peaches can really be grown up here, I don't recall seeing any in my part of Normandy. They never did well for me in Northern California, they'd make enormous peaches that never got ripe. Anyway, I hope you get full recovered soon!
We usually have tons of peaches, so disappointing!
@@OurFrenchChateau That's really good to know that it's possible here! Peaches are about my favourite fruit (when you get one that's good, and not those cardboard things I was always getting in the US). Hopefully next year you'll be back to getting good crops of them!
The chateau's (and old chateau's) history is so interesting. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the locations .... So the old chateau was pretty much right next door to the present chateau, and it closed off the fourth side of the secure square of buildings? The old gate and carriage entrance are fascinating! You said you thought they were wooden doors, but might they have been iron? Imagining the owners holed up in their chateau/buildings/small courtyard, trying to survive on their walled garden produce and worrying about invasion from without -- that makes the heart flutter! I hope you're all better soon. Safe travels!
Glad you're feeling better! Loving the historical peeks! 😁🇺🇸
So sorry you and your daughter got Covid. Glad you feel better to film and wishing you both a speedy recovery ❤️🩹 and test negative soon. Safe travels to the USA. Love your daughter’s room and the colors 😍😘
So sorry to hear that you have covid.....it's rearing it's head again! Two friends just returned from a cruise in Germany and both ended up with covid! Feel better soon! Good luck on the redo on your daughter's room.....it is a lovely big room! The park looks amazing,.....enjoy wandering! Cheers!
The update was delightful, and your plans for your daughter's room are quite interesting. Sorry to learn that you and your daughter have covid, so do take it as easy as possible. Your videos are now part of many people's weekly viewing.
This variety of small plums is called Mirabelle in France. There are a lot of them (the yellow ones) in Lorraine (it's a specialty there: 80% of world production). You can do anything with it: jams, tarts, brandies... It's delicious.
I had never seen red ones. Your trees seem self-sufficient, robust and generous. You should keep them.
So sorry that Covid has kept you and your daughter down- thank you for creating this video!
Your drone photography is so wonderful. I’ve been curious about history of your home as well as others that I follow on TH-cam. Perhaps I missed this bit of info, was your chateau occupied during WWII?
Take care and thank you for your videos.
A Gram from MO😘
I wonder if the old chateau had cellars. They might be just closed off somehow, but still be there.
Bats inside! 😮 Heck to the no on that! So sorry you and your daughter have been ill. Careful to not do too much too soon. I did, and everything came back with a vengance.
What a beautiful peaceful place you have found!
Glad you are feeling better! I just realized how the drone footage shows off your arboretum: all the foliage variations really show up aerially. We're also unseasonably cool, in spite of all the heat wave forecasts. We hit 77, after the edge of Hurrican Beryl hit us last night (1100 miles away from Texas).
Sorry to hear you were unwell 🤧. Thanks for sharing this video with us despite your bad health.
Yes we have had and still have those flying little bug eaters. I just throw a bath towel over it before relocating back outside. Their really cool.
Got the worst episode of gastro enteritis I have ever experienced into my 7th day and finally managed to see a doc, ( very handsome which cheered me up) not Covid. Feeling much better and slept most of today. Hope you are feeling much better too. This vid was a tonic
Hope that you feel better soon!
It sucks to get sick when u know u have something to be done ,but hope ur feeling much better now . Just take it easy
Hope you get better soon and that Lincoln does not get sick too🙏🏽 great views of the property and look forward to seeing what you do in your daughters room
Hi, New subscriber here. Beautiful grounds and home. Paper liner on the wall, then paint green. Careful with the greens depth. I look forward to future videos
I have had very good luck with paintable wallpaper. Glad you are on the mend. No one else is allowed to be sick now!
It’s very nice of your daughter to allow you to film her bedroom makeover. I hope you are both feeling better soon.
hope you feel well enough to travel - love that you squeezed a vlog in.
Hope you feel better, and are able to enjoy your trip back to the US.
What a beautiful sequence at 19:03 with beautiful drone footage and excellent choice of music!
Glad to see you're on the mend. Sometimes the 'rona hangs on longer than two weeks, which was my experience. Enjoy your holiday in the States.
I hope you are now testing negative for COVID and feeling better. What a bummer for your daughter to have it during her US visit. Your garden looks great. My plants are struggling with the heat we're having in Florida. So, I'm putting in posts to support a shade cloth in the hopes of salvaging my veg garden.
I just love your videos. Your place is so pretty and peaceful. I think is the animals.
I hope you feel better soon and your daughter’s return safe and sound. I just love the historical findings. It’s a mystery but discovering and piecing together different things is very exciting. Your daughters bedroom is going to look so nice when finished as the bones are beautiful. I woke up in the middle of the night several years ago to my ceiling fan going at top speed, then in my half asleep state I remembered that I don’t have a ceiling fan!!! It was a bat, yikes. I grabbed my phone and locked myself in the closet, called my son to come over and rescue me. He was able to catch the bat, set it free and free me from the closet. He said”Mom, it’s only a little bat!” I probably overreacted but it’s nice having your son come to your rescue and I made him an early breakfast!!! ❤❤❤
I'm so excited to see work inside the beautiful chateau. Thank u for sharing with us.
Hope you are feeling better! We use to live in a cedar house that was rather porous and had an occasional bat. Once you have had a bat in your house you will never forget the high-pitched and wing-flapping noises they make.
Sorry you and your daughter got that darn Covid. Glad you are starting to feel better.
The gardens are beautiful. The history is interesting. You have a beautiful chateau. You will get your daughter's room done. Take time to get your energy back.❤
So sorry about the Covid again. Been there. It sux. Hope everyone feels better soon. The chateau grounds alwsys look beautiful. I can hardly wait for when hubby & I jump the pond headed for France from Texas in Fall 2025. Can't wait to garden there.
I’m glad you and your daughter are on the mend. Have a wonderful trip Amanda and Lincoln, best wishes for a healthy and safe time.
The gift that keeps on giving...so sorry that you got sick at this time. Grrr... Have a great vacation.
I'd wonder what had happened! I look for your videos weekly. I've enjoyed watching you rehab the gorgeous chateau. Feel better soon!
The history is so fascinating! Thanks for sharing. Perhaps the reason the old chateau is no longer there is because those gates didn’t lock very well.
Awwwwww… I just love you guys and sorry to hear about “ the covid”…. Grateful you are all ok and on the mend and I’m so looking forward to seeing the finished product of your daughter’s room! So special for her last year of High School!! ❤❤❤.
Be well. Xo
So sorry you have had Covid. Hope you are feeling stronger. ❤️❤️
Přeji brzké uzdravení.
Love your videos and always look forward to the next one!
I’m sorry you’ve had Covid. I was worried when you weren’t posting, so I’m glad you haven’t decided to stop. I’ve missed your videos. I Hope you feel better soon. Take time to recover, we’ll miss you, but we’ll wait until you’re well.
Ugh, COVID. 😢 [l had it for the first time this past spring]. It wipes you out. 'Sorry. Life happens.
It won't take long to fix that room when you're well. Get well soon!
Hope that you and your daughter are feeling well again. 102 deg. F for the next 4 days; 107 deg. F predicted for a week from Friday. This is in Montana at 4,000 ft. and my house does not have air conditioning. 🥵 Records are going to be broken and I pray we do not have fires. 🔥 Enjoy your trip! Love to see your garden and property! 🎉
Even if you look at Versailles you will see that corridors didn't exist. All rooms connect directly and that's one of the reasons why they put up beds with large drapery all around to have at least a little bit of privacy.
The doorways one after the other are called "enfilade." Also, the daughter needs to paint the room with you. Marketable skills.
I just had Covid too here in Marseille. Aïe….not great feeling so lousy in summer. Take care and hope you are fully recovered soon !
Another wonderful video ❤. Hoping you are feeling better.
