    Thank you for this video. I just bought my first set of interchangeable needles from knit picks and this video was very informative. I bought the mosaic wood needle set and so far I love it! I was knitting with another brand of bamboo circular needles and my stitches kept getting caught where the cable met the needle. It was very frustrating! The mosaic needles do not have that problem!

    I love short rainbow knit pick. Because I do not appreciate the square shape, the rainbows short are perfect for my hands.

    Hello, I really enjoy your review about these beautiful Knitpicks Options set! I don't have the short set, and mind you, I prefer the longer tips. My set consists of the Caspian, the Radiant, and the Majestic colors! I really, really love this set, just like the other person said about her set! Right now, I am knitting the boomerang shawl like you did when you did yours in the gradient style, only mine is verigated, and the colors are Wildflower. I am having so much fun using these needles, and the warm color is Radiant! Thank you so much again for your great video!! I always enjoy hearing you talk!!

    You could put cotton balls in the slots of your needle case for the shorter Foursquares ~
    I ordered the Foursquare trial set for $15.00 on Amazon and Love them ~ noticed immediately that my hands didn't hurt from Arthritis...
    First Time trying the laminated birch instead of rosewood and metal too, and Really enjoying it.

    All you have to do is hand sew across the case slots on one side to insert your short needles. Works great!

      You might try looking on your country's Amazon site... there are a few other brands that make similar needles (I have not tried other brands, though). One of those other brands might be available to ship to Europe. I hope this helps!

      @@YayForYarn I tried and it's not possible at all. Amazon doesn't even have the Knitpicks Caspian short tips (the round ones) and the only website in Europe /UK that provided them (the Caspian) they are out of stock... I think I will wait and maybe still order from US and pay the tax...I don't know. But they would be so handy for a lot of projects I want to do !
      For the other brands the needles are about 8 to 9 cm but these ones you are presenting are 6 cm ...
      Thanks a lot for the reply !

    I love the regular size foursquare interchangeable set. I wonder how the short tip interchangeables feel on your hands??

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I don't have the regular length foursquare set, but I do have the short foursquare and the regular length round needle tips. I think both feel very nice in the hand, but the foursquare are slightly easier to grip. That is helpful with the short tips, because there is not as much length to hold onto. I hope this helps!

  • @SewEasyCreations

    Great review. I love my Caspian needles, have them in the short and long tips. My cables are not like yours though. They are the green and they do remember their shape so sometimes it's a bother with the cables trying to coil up. Are the black cables different from the green cables? Thanks, love all your videos.

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I have the short black cables, the green cables, and the purple cables. They all appear to be exactly the same except for the color. If I take a cable and drop it on the table, when it falls, it lays in a circle on the table (with the ends overlapping) on its own. However, I store my cables very loosely coiled in a large circle in their case. So perhaps if they were being tightly coiled for storage, they might coil more tightly on their own. My short black cables, because they are so short, lay in a U shape or an open circle when they are laid down. All of my Knit Picks cables are more flexible and have very little memory in them compared to all of the other circular needles I have had in the past. So, mine do have just enough memory in them to keep them in a round shape instead of being straight, but I don't feel like they are coiling up on me when I am knitting. Perhaps if you taped the cables to a flat surface in a straight position and left them there for a while, that might help them to relax? Hope this helps! Thanks!

      @SewEasyCreations 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply. I do coil them up pretty small for storage so maybe I'll let them hang loose for a while. I'm going to order those Foursquare Majestic short needles. I'll use your link. Thanks for the feedback, very helpful as usual :-)

    These interchangeable needles look amazing. I've been looking for a set to buy, these will be my first set, and after watching your video, I've decided to buy them. Thank you for your informative video and links. I can't wait to get them. Do the needles come in larger sizes? I'd also like to get different size cables. Thank you so much!

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Milagro! I am so glad the video was helpful to you! The short needle tips do not come in larger sizes, but the longer tips go up to size 17. I think the short tips don't come in larger sizes because they are so short. If they were thicker, the needle would gradually increase in size from the cable end until it was the correct thickness, and then almost immediately have to taper down to the point of the needle, because of how short they are. The cables come in several lengths: 24", 32", 40", 47", and 60". They also have cable connectors that allow you to join two or more cables together to make a longer one. I don't usually need a super long cable, so I just got several shorter ones and the connectors. If I need a really long one, I can just join the shorter ones together. I added the links for these items to the description box, so you can see them there. Hope this helps! Thanks!

    I bought the Caspian Short, and the Nickel long. The nickel really make the knitting faster, but the stitches can come off a little easier. The way to remedy that is to slide your work onto the cable when you’re not knitting to keep the stitches away from the edges. But I love them!! Have you seen the new set they came out with? It’s called Radiant! They’re so pretty!!

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am so glad you are enjoying your needles! I have seen the new Radiant needles. The warm colors are very pretty! They also have a new set of the interchangeable circulars (called the Mosaic set), with some sizes in Caspian, some in Majestic, and some in Radiant. Those are really cool too!

      Yay For Yarn Yes!! I saw the mosaic set.. I told my husband I want every knitting needle set from different companies.. so each birthday, he needs to get me a set I don’t have at that time. LOL. There are so many nice ones from so many companies.. I want them all.. if even just for the experience. LOL

      Hi Claire! Yes, you can attach the longer cables to the short needle tips. You cannot attach the long needle tips to the short cables, but you can use any cable length with the short needle tips. I hope this helps!

    My shirt tips are round...not square.. and I have no problem keeping stitches on the needles.. And.. they are very comfortable in my hands..which are pretty smalll.

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the information! I don't have the short round tips, but I have the long round tips. They keep the stitches on very well, yet still let the stitches slide when you want them to, so you can knit as fast as you want without "drag" or resistance. That is one of my favorite things about laminated birch. :) I am glad you are enjoying your needles!

    For working magic loop. How much memory do they have?

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rosemarie. For working with the magic loop, I think they do very well. They have a small amount of natural curve to them (which is good), but not like some cheap brands of circular needles that coil around and around from being coiled in the package. So when you lay them down on the table without any knitting on them, the whole needle makes a rough circle with the the needle tips coming together. That's about all the memory they have. I think it's just enough to make knitting with them comfortable, as I don't find myself having to un-kink them or wrestle them into the correct position. They are flexible enough that they can make a tighter loop if needed for the magic loop method. I hope this helps!

    • @rosemariezanfardino3769

      @@YayForYarn Thank you that was very helpful. I recently learned the magic loop and noticed what you observed too. I really appreciate your comprehensive explanation.

    When do you use these short tips?

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Maria! You can use the short tips on any project by attaching them to longer cables. However, if you're working a small-circumference project in the round (like a hat), the short tips are ideal. With a longer circular needle, small circumferences require the magic loop method, but with short circular needles, you can work small circumference projects in the round as normal. The short cables can only be used with the short tips, but the short tips can be used with longer cables. I hope this helps!
