I’ve had the Denise set for 6 years now, they’re amazing to use for projects that require multiple pieces that need to be held on stitch holders. You can order individual pieces directly from them, even if it’s just one end cap. I’ve added to my set with a few extra cords and caps and it makes the set even more practical.
I made one mistake when I invested in my set: I assumed that longer tips would always be more comfortable, so I bought two sets (ChiaoGoo Mini and Small) with 5" tips. Only, now that I've been knitting for a while I've sometimes found myself thinking that they're just a bit too long when I'm knitting magic loop and I'd prefer the slightly shorter 4" tips for a "universal", all-purpose set - but I'm not about to spend that kind of money again just for that 🤦♀️ I still absolutely adore my set, the needles are really great and as long as I use the key and rubber grip to tighten they don't come undone for me. It's just one of those minor annoyances that could've been avoided.
I definitely recommend buying one pair open stock first and knitting a project or two on them before you commit, either in a size you use often (so it won't be redundant to have two of the same size) or, even better, a size that isn't included in the sets (e.g. the ChiaoGoo Shorties don't include 1.5, 1.75, 7, or 7.5 mm, but they're available open stock (7 and 7.5 are new together with the yellow Large set, might not be available everywhere yet)).

I have a pretty basic set (Boye brand) and I just twist them shut at the end of each round. I've been meaning to try some removable thread locker (special glue to increase the friction of screw threads). Pretty sure I have a bottle in the garage somewhere...🤷♀️

Hey! I was wondering if you have tried Susan Bates fixed circular needles? I like the fact that these aren’t so sharp because I tend to finger stab when knitting. I want an interchangeable set but I don’t know what would be comparable as far as tips go. Plus I like metal the best. If you have any suggestions I would love to know!
You did not mentionr connecting 2 cords, in case I have a super long project. Which brand has this option? Also, I have bad experience with plastic interchangable, they keep unscreuing during knitting.

Can u use chiagoo shorties with any of other brands? U mentioned some brands are interchangable with each other. Which brands?
My interchangeable set contains a set of cable connectors. Are they used for lengthening the cable to accommodate bigger project? My pet peeve with most interchangeable set is that the cases are often like an afterthought, not well well-designed and terribly lacking in varieties. If one has gone to the trouble of acquiring an interchangeable set, I suppose one would want a better quality case and a variety of designs to choose from.
Yeah that's what connectors are for 😊 I totally agree about the cases. I would love a brand to come out with some epically good cases, maybe even one with room for more needles and sets too 🙀

Which brand are the blue green and gold set you see at the end of the video? I bought some cheaper plastic locking needles but the cords just won’t stay on :(
