TikTok diagnosed me when doctors couldn't

- I disappeared for 3 months... lemme tell you what happened.
I have always said health is the most important thing. If I learned anything from the past 6 years dealing with diagnosis after diagnosis it is this - ask the questions, advocate for yourself, and use any means necessary to find the people who WILL believe you and who WILL have the knowledge to put the puzzle together. Obviously TikTok isn't a place where you should go and get medical advice, but when it comes to things like this - where it's not a medication or anything wild you have to take, but a maneuver that takes 5 minutes, TRY IT. And maybe it will work. Vertigo is notoriously something doctors brush off and I want you to know it can be solved. Don't give up!
I'm sorry for disappearing, this is probably the longest I've been MIA from all social media. It was nice to be away for the holidays with my fam, now I'm slowly getting back to things and I have a few videos lined up to share with you. I stopped doing "influencing" or content creation as a full-time job because it's notoriously inconsistent, it's lonely, and you start to feel like you're not growing. I've been so happy with my 9-5, my team is amazing, the company is great, and it allows me to feel like content is a hobby again. This is why I started TH-cam, to share my favorite things, to build community. I hate how it became sponsorships and ads, even TikTok now all I see are the shops and people desperately promoting anything for commissions. I mean do what you gotta do, but I've had consumerism fatigue. I'm tired, I don't want to sell you anything. I just want to be a girl talking to a camera the way I would be facetiming a best friend. So yea.... I'll share things with you here and there and will be EXTREMELY picky with sponsorships, but my goal is bring back the happy corner of the internet we had in 2014.

I'm in a Physician Assistant program and literally my first thought when you said vertigo was BPPV and trying the Epley. Your providers should have known that or at least mentioned it. Either way, I'm so so so so happy to see you back!! I was telling my mom about how much I miss your videos a few weeks ago. You're the best!
Oh my goodness!!!! Well clearly they assumed and went with it 😤 just glad I was able to find a solution. Vertigo is rough and I finally understand the struggle many deal with when it’s never ending. Awww so sweet! I should have communicated better. I’m so sorry to disappear!
PT tech here! I just had a client in the office I work in who had this. We did the maneuver and she was cleared in a matter of 3 days. Doctors should have tested for this. Seems like it’s getting more and more common.
Are the crystal in conjuction with the ossicles? Like the calcification of the ear bones and then they become dislodged causing the dizziness etc.???
really felt you on the new diagnosis every year thing. like seriously why is there always something. i gotta start keeping a checklist to tick off all the types of specialist clinics ive been to in my life bc i think ive almost run through most of it. glad you were able to solve this one!
I was just watching your videos today!! Happy to see that you posted and that you’re doing better health-wise!
I’m so happy to be better! So grateful for my health 🙏🏼
It’s so good to have you back! I hope you’re okay ❤
I'm glad your doing better now not feeling good with any thing is horrible , I have sever migraines I've had them over 20 year's without medication I'm taking stuff now and I'm feeling so much better, it's good to see a video from you again
I’m so sorry you experienced that, but so glad something worked and you’re feeling better! I have POTS unfortunately. It’s no fun.
Ugh I’m so sorry to hear that! 💖 chronic conditions are exhausting. I found out I have it in a minor way so I feel more informed if I ever see symptoms come up, but relieved to not feel like I’m on a never ending rollercoaster 😔
So good to have some peace of mind. Your videos are so calming! ❤
omg this is wild! It's frustrating to hear this story because as a PA, I would have done you due diligence and tried the Epley maneuver! ps- you can't hear the ear crystals moving but it totally does impact your balance and explains so much of your symptoms
So happy you feel better❤Missed you!
Missed you!! Thank you 💖💕💖
So happy to hear you're doing better! And happy you're back!
Thank you 💖 I’m so relieved to be able to not be dizzy.
So happy to see you post again and that younare doing better!! Can't wait for new videos!
There’s many I’m editing now!! 💖💕
I have POTS too, the way it changes your life is unreal. I’m glad you found answers and I hope you’re doing okay🥺
Olena!! This is WILD to me. The first few seconds after you said you got a massage, and it was intense… and then you became dizzy.. my IMMEDIATE thought was BPPV. I usually get this after massages that are done anywhere near my neck because it can dislodge those crystals. But any time I feel dizziness coming on I do the maneuvers and I’m usually good the next day because unfortunately it’s something that CAN happen easily again, even just by massaging your own neck so just remember those maneuvers for next time but this fricken blows my mind that this wasn’t something your physician even thought about considering (especially if you told him WHEN this started, if you did, and he even cared enough to ask! After a massage is a light bulb story line) I’m so sorry you had to go through thousands of dollars before this but I am so glad it’s something as simple (yet very scary, I’m aware. It’s a horrible feeling!) as crystals in your inner ear! ❤ the maneuvers have saved me more times than I care to count lol 😂
So glad you finally have some answers and are doing better, Olena!
Thank you Morgan!! When in doubt ask TikTok 😂
Missed you! Glad to see your back!, ❤
Excited to be back!! 💖✨💖
@@IamJustOlena it’s nice to have you!, 😁👍
So glad you’re back! I’ve missed your videos! I remember you mentioning in a previous video, that you cured your IBS. Will you be making a video about that soon?
Missed you too! Yes!! I plan to film that soon 💕✨
Hiiiii!! Where were you all this time? I was literally worried about you cause there was no video. I am glad you posted finally 🥲 missed you ❤
Love you 🤩
Hiii! I got sick, developed dizziness, moved, and then holidays sooooo it was a lot. But I’m back!!
Im shocked that the drs didn’t do the epley maneuver to begin with, that’s insane to me! I’m glad you’re feeling better.
I’m shocked too now that many comments are bringing it up 🤦🏼♀️ I don’t even know what to say. And this doc has amazing reviews on Google
Olena that is wild!! TikTok be doing all these things! Love that you're feeling better. Side note: where did you get the sweater from it so cute!!
What would we do without tiktok!! Thank God you’re feeling better! Cheers my love! 🥂🫶🏻
we didn't have tiktok for centuries and we were fine. y'all are just handing over everything to china. they own all that content and info
@@mantronixtubeshe wouldn’t have found out if it wasn’t for the app so.
TikTok is great and it’s also awful. It’s a long argument of whether pros outweigh the cons. It’s incredible for info sharing and discovering things you weren’t searching for, but it’s ruining our attention spans and making us zombies 🤦🏼♀️
It’s a nose-ear doctor thing, it’s really common in elderly and woman. Of course there’s no way you could know that, but it’s really your doctors job to suspect that simple thing. I’m glad you’re doing better now, we miss you so much 🤍
Planning on visiting a ENT this year! Hoping to get more answers on a lot of things, but yes soooo relieved to have that over with
You’re back!!!! ❤❤❤❤
YES I AM!!! ✨💖
Ugh that’s the first thing I thought when you started the story!
Looking at the comments I should have filmed a video and asked you guys for advice 😂💖 would have probably saved me weeks of dizziness
Missed you 💗
Missed you too!
Last fall a also had vertigo for a long time and the firtst thing my doctor did was to send me to ORL to check for ear chrystals... It was not my case, but i am suprised your doctor did not think of it...
I miss you so much ❤
I’m a physical therapist and that is crazy your primary care physician didn’t even tell you to go to physical therapy!!! I know how to do that maneuver and the minute you said dizziness and vertigo smh
Every doctor says it's Pots so frustrating.
Vertigo is no joke.
It was horrible!!! I never experienced it to that extent. It’s like your brain and your eyes don’t agree and you feel so out of control 😔 wouldn’t wish it on anyone
Did you search up how to do the maneuver? I deal with feel off balanced and my ears have problems like that and my mom also deals with vertigo and doctors never help 😐
Have you looked into persistent postural perceptual dizziness (I have this) or vestibular migraine?
@@jbm602920 No I haven’t. Doctors just never look into it or bother looking at my ears.
wait so are you saying that after you did that whole ear maneuver you're cured now?
Literally no vertigo and it never came back 😲💖
@@IamJustOlena yay so happy for you!❤️

I have POTS found out during this second pregnancy from my midwife. Probably had it with my first more than likely
Do you have symptoms? I definitely notice a few things that could point to my POTS and maybe some incidents in my childhood, but more than anything I think it’s been pretty dormant in me.
@@IamJustOlena yeah it explained my dizziness that I would get from like getting up too fast. My midwife just always reminds me to make sure I’m getting plenty of salt and drinking my electrolytes. I’ve had trouble staying hydrated the end of this pregnancy since I’m home all day with my toddler and she also likes to steal my water instead of hers at times lol
12 days from our due date🤰🏻🩵
@@peaceee93 omg yes the electrolytes and salt!!! I notice if I use salt that isn’t iodized for a while I get the dizziness, so I need salt packets on occasion 😔 we gotta prioritize it!! 💖
@@IamJustOlena I just get salt in my diet from everything I’m eating cause I always season stuff. I remember craving salty with my first. No one would let me salt when cooking cause I overdid it. My taste buds didn’t notice it was “too much” haha
@@peaceee93 oh my goodness I too sometimes over salt and think it’s fine but others don’t!!! You just opened my eyes that it could be from my body liking salt wow hahaha
why is the title and thumbnail so dramatic omg!
Idk!!! lol I means it’s straight to the point of what happened 😂
The world would survive without your opinion fyi.
@@StephanieGrealis 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t think they want it in a mean way 💕 let’s all foster kindness here
@@IamJustOlena exactly olena🫶
why didn;t you just go to emergency? girl..... smh
Cause it didn’t feel like an emergency 🤷🏼♀️ I grew up in a household where you don’t go to the emergency room unless it’s baddddd lol but if I wasn’t getting info from these doctors I would have gone. I just trusted their opinion, mistakenly
Wow you’d think you’d almost died based on the thumbnail. Clickbait and dramatic much?
My bad! I didn’t know what else to use 🤷🏼♀️ just said story time and straight to the point
I’m sorry, but you could’ve said that in a nicer way
I didn’t assume it was that dramatic by her thumbnail or the title. Chill out 😂
You know you can just scroll by things and not comment.
