Need to run a pipe line of ocean water to Salton Sea to calm the dust storm by refilling the area. As the water level is being reached start a desalination l plant to supply water for farming etc. dry the salty discharge in a small area and sell the salt.
Or if need be just leave the salt to eventually cap the dust prone areas to prevent the toxic dust storms.
Power it with solar or wind or geothermal that is in the area.
    Start decades ago please

The salt is contaminated with heavy metals and other toxic pollutants from the agricultural runoff going back into the lake. It IS the dust. The water we pump into it should be desalinated first or we'd just make the problem worse.

That's never going to happen for numerous reasons. It needs to dry up, and that IS going to happen.

@@Juneisthebestmonth no, it does not need to dry up. Wow

@@gordybishop2375 Actually, that has been the plan for about 3 decades now - have you not realized this? Have you read the QSA? The Mistake Lake is going away. It is an engineering impossibility to get ocean water to it (below sea level, through an earthquake zone, adds salt to a dead-ended lake, the water would need to be filtered down to cellular levels). Mexico has no interest in helping anything there as we stole the Colorado River water from them. They add industrial waste to the New River that flows into the Mistake lake. The sewage treatment plant still dumps its grey water in there. It is going back to the condition that Mother Nature has determined for it. It's a lock!

There is a lot of nasty stuff in that dust, you really dont want to inhale it... A massive radius around all of the sea will be affected if its not taken care of, plus there are over 400 species of birds that migrate here on their way south.
