I love the cadence and the beat in Honey so much. Solar also wrote the rap part herself. And her voice is just so incredible. Honey MV used to be my favorite Solar's MV but now I don't know as there are But I and Colors, even the iconic Spit it Out. All of them are so different which just shows how versatile Solar is as she loves to take on new challenges. Vocally speaking, Honey wasn't my familiar Solar's voice before I heard the song as she used lots of light and airy falsetto even they sound solid and amazing but the same goes with every her title track as many would expect her to do the heavy belting if they only know her just from a handful of MAMAMOO title songs or their Immortal Song 2 performances but she has so much more to offer if one takes a deep dive into MAMAMOO's huge discography and her own solo works. In fact, versatility applies to other members as well since they are all great artists. But Solar's definitely the most extreme one if you check her works from her own solo songs, Solar Gamsung the a remake of masterpieces, OSTs, and even her musical numbers. Her range will surprise you. As a MOOMOO, I would love to see you guys react to all of their solo MVs but as a Solar bias, I would love to hear your opinions about her But I MV and Colors performance video which is also like a MV. Moreover, I hope you can react to one of Solar's live performances of BLUES, a b-side track in her COLOOURS album, especially the encore one in the 2nd day of her Seoul COLOURS concert, the one in her Macau COLOURS concert, or the one in Music Bank in Madrid only available in some fancams as KBS geoblocked the official video. Still, I'm looking forward to more MAMAMOO reactions, no matter it's their solo, unit, or group works.
Solar is my favorite singer and there are many more solo albums, songs, OSTs and covers. All 4 of mamamoo have multiple solo albums and songs. This one was from a few years ago, she has released more since, her Colours album. On it you will find Rock, EDM, Folk, R&B and blues songs named Blues. She started with her Solar Gamsung project, 14 songs, most before 2017 and most will make you cry. The first song Lived Like a Fool is one to watch. Na da Sou Sou and Star wind flower sun( The first is japanese, the second solar wrote herself and both have a mamamoo version ) Love Has Gone was released a few months ago, if you dont listen to all 14 songs, try these. Hello is a solo from the mamamoo Blue;s album, Colors, Spit it out and Big Booty is also Solar written from the same album as Honey. In fact there is a Face album live performance video of all 5 songs including Honey. Adrenaline and Exit are two OSTs of many. Last year at their My Con concert, they sung each other's solos, Wheein did Honey in the yellow outfit, Solar did Watercolor in Wheein's blue fit from that MV. And Solar has a whole lot of covers on her TH-cam Solarsido, one of the best michael jackson man in the mirror covers she did with MJs original band and backup singers. Mamamoo is prolific with songs, together they release 25+ songs each year, this year was mostly Solos and OSTs. You will also want to see the Mamamoo+ songs, Solar and Moonbyul's subgroup.
I know that you want to move on to the other members, but you HAVE to check out the Colors performance MV by her. It's just a masterpiece Also I just wanna say that Solar is the main vocalist of Mamamoo, so the song being so chill and calm was definitely a conscious choice
Lol. Maybe your next solo song from Mamamoo should be Wheein's cover of Kehlani's Honey. Wheein has often mentioned Kehlani as one of her favorite singers and someone she'd like to collab with. Kehlani responded to Wheein's cover by saying how much she loved it and hoped they could meet and collab soon. We're still waiting ... Agree with your comments about Honey. Honey is Solar's most pop solo song but that doesn't stop her from including some clever and pointed social commentary to spice up the lyrics and MV. She co-wrote the lyrics and music with her frequent creative partner Kim Dohoon, the co-CEO of Mamamoo's label RBW. Solar seems to like the Honey theme. During her recent solo concert tour in Asia & the Pacific Islands she performed Honey along with a song called Honey Honey from her most recent solo album and Honey Bee, which is a collab she did back in 2017 with Luna of f(x) and Hani of EXID. Don't think of Honey as representative of Solar as a soloist. Her solo discography is all over the map and we never know what genre she's going to do next. That's true of Mamamoo in general but I think it's especially the case with Solar. If there's anything she likes more than taking on new challenges and trying different things in life and in music it might be the absolute delight she takes in surprising fans with something completely unexpected, like her latest solo EP Colours. She spelled the title that way to emphasize Ours because her concept for the album was to celebrate diversity and community via 6 songs in completely different genres or musical colors, 5 of which she wrote or co-wrote herself. For example, the main single But I dramatically switches between ballad in the verses and punkish rock in the chorus, Colors is an EDM track that features Solar voguing with queer dance troupe House of Love in the MV, and the final song is called Blues, which is exactly what the title indicates. If you want to see Solar channel her power belting diva side with soul then check out one of the live performances of Blues. Unfortunately there's no MV. Blues is up there with the gorgeous ballad Hello as my favorite solo songs by Solar. Hello was Solar's self-composed solo song in MMM's four album series 4 Season 4 Color and was included on their 2018 album Blue;S, the Fall/Blue album in the series. Btw, Solar is the only MMM member who hasn't done or announced a solo US tour. Wheein was here in the spring and Moonbyul just wrapped up her US tour ten days ago. Hwasa announced the schedule for her debut North American tour in March/April '25 and tix went on sale about a week ago. I'm going to see her in Brooklyn.
You can also react to her other songs:spit it out, colours, but I. And also react to the subunit songs of her and the group's rapper moonbyul:daeng daeng and GGBB
Watching you guys for a while now I came with the conclusion that theatrical elements impress you the most which is why I'm suggesting DPR IAN. He's not k-pop but he's korean-australian I think.
