I’m gonna stick my neck out and say this is the best bivi camping video I’ve seen on TH-cam. This camp looked perfection. I’m extremely envious. Thanks for sharing mate.
Respect Paul for commenting another content creators video as I totally understand that must be hard when keeping on top of your own incredibly successful channel. ATB Tom
@@TOMHEANEY100 cheers Tom. Got to give credit where it’s due. I still watch plenty of TH-cam as for me it’s replaced regular TV. I also learn a great deal too.
Insane weather that for April 😱.... can’t see me in a Bivi though mate... everything like getting changed, keeping you bag & boots dry , having a pee 🤣.... all looks to restricted for me, I was curious but you’ve made my mind up😂... I’ll be sticking to my Lanshan & cloudpeak.. both palatial 😂👍🏻. Great film & what a morning!! Wow!🌞🌞
I was thinking to myself why would you want to put yourself through that ,sleeping in a bag essentially in the snow , but then when you wake up to a landscape like that it must make it all worthwhile . Lovely video again thanks for your time and effort .
The best experiences in life often don’t come without a bit of effort, and sometimes even a bit of suffering. So glad you enjoyed it Wendy, and appreciate your comments 😎👍
There’s just something about your videos that captures a lovely balance of great cinematography, sound, music, location and weather. You certainly landed lucky with the late snow and clear morning, stunning. I love Great Hill, Belmont and Winter Hill, my local places too which made this one all the more special. Thanks again!
One word.....Respect.....Bivvy'ing in "winter" ! Looking back would you do it again or take a tent. I bought(yet to use it) the Snugpak Ionasphere, a compromise between a bivvy and a tent.
Stunning, I once walked from Rivington Pike did 20 miles with my ex girlfriend (who apperently knew where she was going) after 2 pubs stops, ending up thigh deep in a bog we had to camp in a farmers field because we spent too long in the pubs and it was 11 at night in December so farmers field in Horwich it was🤣🤣.we passed through great hill on the way. the West pennine moors certainly have some charm and alot of Bogs! Great upload as per usual.
I stealth Bivy sometimes, but not in a bright orange bivy, lol. I use an MSS, crazy warm, low IR signature, and it's CAMOUFLAGED. Sometimes I'll set up a 7X7 camo tarp too, to protect my pack, in case it rains.
Stunning camp Dave , yes i agree a winter camp .. Hardcore in the bivi , I normally use mine in me single skin shelter to stop condensation dripping on my down bag lol . atb Dave
This looks like one of those days when you just want to keep wandering and not go back inside... I'm Norwegian and I absolutely love those crisp, clear and cold winter days! Even in April 😊. I truly enjoyed this video, so beautiful.
Great video. Awesome to know you don’t have to be in places like the lakes to get out. This is very local to me and I will be for sure planning something!
The idea of going out and throwing down a bivi is alluring, but by heck they are awkward to get in and out of lol think i would have thrown it down at that cross seat lol
Seriously wanting to do a bivvy bag camp. Glad you highlighted the expected issues (pee, condensation, pee!). If youre goin in go all in i guess! Great vid, so glad to see you back out. Im off to buy a bivvy✌🏻
Got to agree with Paul Messners great comment. Best bivi camp and in winter conditions where you left your boots outside upside down in the snow. Hardcore :)
Well done on your second attempt in your bivvy bag. I've lost count how many times I've been up there fell running. I was up there looking for a place to wildcamp myself as you know it holds a lot of water up there. I really enjoyed the vid and content and the fact you are learning from your mistakes, chocolate bars (Lindor) etc. 🤣 Take it easy and ATB. Mick.
No worries Dave you are definitely getting well back up to speed, this is a fantastic video. I like the way you are just 'grabbing the bull by the horns' with this bivi camping, sussing it out as you go and also sharing with us at the same time. Brilliant, good on you and many thanks
This is my stomping ground buddy. What a camp it looked awesome. It can get a bit crazy up great hill and had many brews in that stone cross out the elements.
Fantastic video. I managed my first wildcamp since lockdown a couple of days ago on Darwen Moor. Took inspiration from one of your old videos. This one looked a bit hardcore for me. ATB Gary
I'm just working my way through your back catalogue here .. awesome campout I a bivvy bag . I've just bought the alpkit hulka XL ..bought the red one ..my bad . not used it yet as I'm scared cause it's winter now but soon as poss ..not as brave as yourself ..well done .. awesome work 🦸
Awesome pictures, I have bivi's, but for winter, I use a tent,, found your video looking for reviews of the Rab bivi, answers the question about condensation!

I've just seen this. I agree with Mr Messner...it's a belting video. Thank you!
Its great to see you back out but I think I'll stick to a tent
haha same!
Brave man, bivvy in those conditions. Tent for me.
This is what the bivvy was designed for

Stunning conditions for it. Much better to wake up to snow than the rain that was predicted.
Absolutely Kev 🥶👍😎
Another great vid. The quality of cinematography and audio is really excellent.
Inspirational. Total solitude.

You did well to brave those conditions in a bivvy cracking spot though 👍👍
What a great way to spend a night in the hills.

My boots always come inside my shelter with me. If ever they were to stay outside they would be sheltered from the elements.
Great vid.

Superb Dave🥶🥶👍👍👍 always an enjoyable watch.. I look forward to the next one👍👍
Last gasp of winter! Great scenery well captured. Yeah a hooped bivvi would be more comfortable. The snow transforms everything.
Fantastic ! Really enjoyed that . Thanks .

Cracking camp, definitely counts as a winter one!
I’ve just come back to this video Dave. It’s amazing. Agree with PM, best bivvy video I’ve seen. I love the music you use at the end 👍
My wife said, "Like a walk in heaven." That was very special to watch, thanks for sharing it with us.
