Hey guys! I kinda Whiffed with those CBU-105's but it is definitely a good example of how even WIND CORRECTED munitions dispensers are still effected by the wind as the Skeets float gracefully towards the earth with their little parachutes

      @sloppydog4831 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yep, that's a complicated problem. When able, it is good to write down the wind from a JTAC. With that info I usually set the SPI a little bit off target, upwind, so the chutes will travel to the target. Things they don't teach you at the Academy.v

Setting BA to 1200 helps reducing time till explosion and therefore not floating away a lot.

I'm speculating, but you probably need to input the wind at the target area, note the field TGT WD, which I assume is short for target wind.
Edit: According to DCS's F-16 User Manual, it is the target wind, but currently you can't program it. It can only be provided in the mission planning. Meaning it wasn't wind corrected, because the mission planning indicated 0 wind.

That’s why I’m liking the CBU-103s better with the 200 something HEAT bomblets. They’re way more accurate too. I use them in LADD/DTOS in F16 and with slower jets like A10 I actually don’t mind the CBU105. I prefer the GBU-51s or whichever the laser guided version of the GBU38 for point track/lase on moving targets

Seeing you use the Notepad reminded me of how I used to do it. I really recommend people get the DCS Scratchpad mod; works in singleplayer and multiplayer, saves whatever you put into it until you delete it, pops up and goes away with a simple Ctrl+Shift+X, can be manipulated to whatever size and shape you need and is in general not intrusive at all. I just put it under my SRS with a nice line of prewritten airfield coordinates and it saves a lot of F10 time. Also great for writing down JTAC directions quickly.

They really need to add cast shadows underneath the black smoke of burning targets. It adds so much depth and would make a successful A2G attack just look that much more devastating.

Yesterday, I thought it could be funny to test the WCMD's on the NTTR. There's a small "village" on Coyote Bravo and I set up a fortified enemy position with infantry, APC's, some Tanks and light Air Defence. I droped 4 CBU-105 to mock up the vehicles. Well, at the end of the day the village was no more.

I found jdam work fine in singol player ,but in multi player session the jdam fall offset (right , left , forward , backward )from the target .. did you found this issue ?

Hey, Spud, what's your opinion on the flight model? ...Of the Viper, that is. The Hornet's pretty nerfed by ED (for security reasons), and Wags, himself, admitted this to Vincent 'Jell-O' Aiello. Wags didn't go into too much detail, but to be specific, some of the F/A-18's PROM 10.7 slow-speed/high-AoA FCS logic and conditional subprograms are sensitive, and therefore, not modelled, but what about the Viper?

Is it just me, or is it way easier than this to drop JDAMs and WCMDs in the A-10. Granted I don't have the f/a-18 or f-16

    • @aaronwhite1786

The Hornet is definitely pretty easy if you're going with just targeting via the TGP.
Point, depress the TGP and then drop. If you've got to type them in manually, it's a bit of a pain.

@@aaronwhite1786 In the A-10. I can use the HMD and HOTAS to create a mark point, switch SOI to it, and drop the bomb without ever having to take my hands off the HOTAS. Just look and shoot

You got to experience DCS and other PC stuff to appreciate what a load of twaddle it all is, then you realise how much help the people around you need, then PC takes second place, it got me through some tough times, thank you for that, always.
I will understand it has it's place, all that participate I can understand, the tech is awsome, if you could put the billions into making lives better then that is what you should really do, is it so crazy that many work there fingers to the bone just to survive, others take the piss, they are the losers, for they have no soul, see you later -----------

Sounds like you need a hug bruh. PC gaming comes a distant second to the well being of my family and work life. It's a nice escape to go fly amongst the clouds and learn how to drop some bombs on targets where nobody gets hurt.
If Spud dedicated his time to only philanthropic purposes he'd put a drop in an ocean of relieving the world's pain. But he helps a lot of people escape the shitty reality that is life, and I applaud him for it. If you're this upset about a JDAM video maybe you should focus your energy elsewhere my dude, like watching some yoga videos or something.

with the WCMD, what your describing is momentum. when the weapon opens and the dispensers pop out they are still travelling forward along that axis even tho they have chutes open, they won't stop moving until the height of function, where the little rockets attached to them cause them to spin and rise a bit to deploy the actual sub-munitions. basically aim at the begining of a target area vs the middle of it, it's not like rippling off mk82s. also the WCMD has almost no purpose their usually dropped from super high altitude where the correction would be better.
