Thank you all for your on going support. couldnt do it without you. Special thanks to Max Waldorf for his help in the creation of this video.
Awesome tutorial! One thing that seems to confuse a lot of players unfamiliar with radar is that the dish elevation is gimballed to the horizon, not your jets AOA. So if you are cruising at angels 20 and you get an AWACS call for a bandit at angles 10, pointing the nose of your jet down will not cause the radar to scan lower. You must move the dish to physically scan the lower altitude. I think radar elevation control is something a lot of players don't bother with because it seems too complicated so they think "I'll just point my jet at the target instead". It doesn't work that way for elevation.
Robert Curtis ur absolutely correct that is a common misconception among new guys, hopefully from this video they now have a better understanding of the radar elevation antenna and can make better use of the scan volume functions of the bars
@@vadderkraft8563 my understanding is that it's like a chicken. You move it around, twist it, turn it and it's head is always still. Like a gimballed camera that will always steady the camera so it does not move and mess up the shot. If your radar is scanning 10 degrees nose up and your are flying level your radar is scanning 10 degrees above the horizon level. If you point the nose 10 degrees down it is now scanning the horizon not where your nose is pointed because the radar was offset to 10 degrees up. Atleast this is my understanding of it, hopefully if im wrong someone will correct me.

Only then would I commit to more serious stuff I'm sorry I don't have more answers on this Im not too sure how difficult it will be to get into this with just 1 hand. I will eventually get around to learning how to fly it but I really do love the F15c. I have not done any campaign play. Just been doing pve multiplayer. Such a kick ass game. I love it! I'm thinking about setting up voice attack but unsure of which commands would best suit my needs. I came to your open conflict pvp server but I'm not ready for that just yet. thanks a lot for the advice, Blue Skies!.
Moving the cursor around was beautiful and all, but what are the key bindings or dash buttons to do so? You explained how to move the antenna pitch up and down but you always oriented the radar cursor to the middle of the screen as well. So, how to move the cursor left and right? Does it matter if it is centered? Ty GS.
this kinda helped but i still have no ******* idea what in the heeeell im doing and my brain is about to explode because none of the keybinds tell me what the hell they are for and if i do put a keybind to my HOTAS i have to hold it it doesnt frigging toggle i cant hold buttons while dogfighting then press other buttons while holding those butttons i have to release them like the dogfight button that lets me use guns i have to hold it and then i have to uncage the seeker but i cant if im holding the dogfight switch then i have to press weapon release but i cant because im already holding 2 switches someone help me please i beg of you and i cant be pressing switches in the cockpit while trying to dogfight i want all my most important controls keybinded so i dont have to flip and switches while using guns, sidewinders, amramms, bombs etc all of that i need keybinded but dcs is no help the training tells u BARELY what to do but doesnt explain in detail anything its frustrating and i cant find anything online to help me. Thanks.
Okay, so, I have a question. I only have one HAT switch on my HOTAS. I fly the viper. Should I bind my TMS to my HAT switch, or is there something more important that should take the switch?
Great tuto thx! Is there a way to attach BE info to the TDC like in many other planes? and if possible, how to assign the BE to coordinates or a WP? thx

I followed your advice and got the stick you recommend, almost got the rudder pedals. but i think I'm going to wait until I'm ready to get serious about learning my Hornet before I purchase those. I got the fc3 module. also Persian gulf and hornet bundle. I have been enjoying the F15c. I can actually do alright with one hand flying it. The Hornet is a great jet, but a lot more complicated.
There's no escaping the Inverse Square Law
Love my wild weasel shirt!
We now have TWS. Can you update or create a video on TWS in the same fashion you did here?
Thanks
Moving the cursor around was beautiful and all, but what are the key bindings or dash buttons to do so? You explained how to move the antenna pitch up and down but you always oriented the radar cursor to the middle of the screen as well. So, how to move the cursor left and right? Does it matter if it is centered? Ty GS.
But what are the keybindings for the antenna pitch up and down?? i cant find it anywhere
Very helpful, thank you GS!
Anderson Krueger you're welcome man
thanks bud. nice tutorial
my pleasure man glad you liked it
Excellent tutorial!
You can use the cursor to bump the range as well, moving it up the screen (or down)
correct.
Hey man, is this still viable today? Or if anyone else knows I would appreciate if you could let me know
What are the angels you were talking about when you were talking about bars
this kinda helped but i still have no ******* idea what in the heeeell im doing and my brain is about to explode because none of the keybinds tell me what the hell they are for and if i do put a keybind to my HOTAS i have to hold it it doesnt frigging toggle i cant hold buttons while dogfighting then press other buttons while holding those butttons i have to release them like the dogfight button that lets me use guns i have to hold it and then i have to uncage the seeker but i cant if im holding the dogfight switch then i have to press weapon release but i cant because im already holding 2 switches someone help me please i beg of you and i cant be pressing switches in the cockpit while trying to dogfight i want all my most important controls keybinded so i dont have to flip and switches while using guns, sidewinders, amramms, bombs etc all of that i need keybinded but dcs is no help the training tells u BARELY what to do but doesnt explain in detail anything its frustrating and i cant find anything online to help me. Thanks.
Okay, so, I have a question. I only have one HAT switch on my HOTAS. I fly the viper. Should I bind my TMS to my HAT switch, or is there something more important that should take the switch?
GS, your continue to educate me, brother! With all the current updates to the Viper, is this information still accurate?
Can't wait to see a vs f-18 battle...
dope! thanks!!
Are you going to make an update of this video soon?
@31:33 you lock up the target and get an aspect angle of 34. Is this a bug? Shouldn't that read 2R?
Great tuto thx! Is there a way to attach BE info to the TDC like in many other planes? and if possible, how to assign the BE to coordinates or a WP? thx
Can you make a video on how does radar lock works?
Like what is the difference between radar lock VS simply have the target on radar?
sadly there's no 3 bar option yet.. i've been prescribed 3, 2mg Alprazolam rectangle IR tablets/bars for over a decade, if that helps any.
Great explanation.
درود بر شما دوبله پارسی این فبلمهارو تهیه میکنید ماهم از دیدنشان لذت بیشتری ببریم؟؟
I think I like more the F-15C radar where you manually adjust the elevation and receive faster feedback
great tutorial ! loved it ! really useful !
wow, I have been looking for this, amazing work!!! I wonder if you have all that written down "summarized" because it's boring plus hard to understand from the A/C manual.....so if you have it, would you please share it with us?, anyway great video and great work!
What do you mean move the cursor when you move the thing ont he radar the two parallel line thing cause ur cursor isnt moveing
Thank you :)
Thanks for this tutorial! :-)
Macky Mac you're very welcome
What's the difference between the SA and TWS, except for the ability to lock more than 1 target?
Where is change with TMS up and down control coming from?
So much bar talking I'm already drunk.
I knew all of this still watched the video, no one knows when you could learn something new.
Nice video.
lol thanks for taking the time even tho you knew the info man.
