In 8 minutes, they delivered even what a 2 hour movie couldn’t. This is only 8 minutes but felt like an entire lifetime. The authenticity of their love, their redeeming, forgiving, renewing, and unconditional love. This love persists beyond gender.
As a young British (SCOTTISH) GAY man I can only feel even more proud after seeing this little film! What a beautiful and wonderful love story in such a difficult time as the WWII! More in a conservative and repressive society, where love between two men was unacceptable! I was quite emotional!
@@thomasfy4 Good question, it makes me think you don't know the story! SCOTTISH, because we have our own language, culture, ancestral and genetic connections that originate in Scotland! BRITISH, Because we belong to the UNITED KINGDOM/GREAT BRITAIN! GREAT BRITAIN, island in the north Atlantic, represented by 3 countries, England, Wales and Scotland! UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND, is a country made up of 4 countries, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland!

I loved this little Video. I can’t imagine writing so many letters and keeping them for all those years, really impressive. At least they’re found at the right time. And I also love the British accent. 😂 I always wanted to visit the north of great Britain. Never went to Scotland mostly the southeast. How would you describe your region?
This story is too beautiful for the World to miss seeing it. Please make this a feature length film. Real love like this story tells is everlasting and some of us are fortunate enough to find it.
I discovered my true love by living my life. I believe men are trying too hard “to find”, instead of living their best life. I’m not against dating, using apps, however, I want a man to compliment my life, not thinking I’m incomplete without one . ❤️🙏❤️
This a beautiful story of love, the power of their emotions was well written, directed and the acting was so believable, a big well done to all involved 🌈👬
This made tears come into my eyes! I am so glad it is a true story. So sweet, so touching, so full of authentic love! It was a privilege to watch this little film.
I lost the love of my life who died suddenly in 2022. The loss is terrible, but love lingers on. Love never dies and my love for him will never die, even though he's no longer here for us to share the rest of our lives together. Watching this film made me weep with sadness at the loss.
I lost my mother a year and a half ago, and that pain lingers still. That loss actually brought me closer with my husband. I hope you find healing and peace, and that, with time, the memories of your lost love provide you with joy and comfort. They're never really gone... so long as we remember them.
That was a wonderful video!! Tears rolling down my 66yr old cheek but a very warm glow in my heart. I feel lucky and privileged to be part of those guys love, even briefly, Thanks
It's too bad that we had to love behind closed doors and that we could not validate our love. Love truly is love and should never have to hide! Thank God today, we don't have to love behind closed doors...live, love openly!
Give thought to non-heterosexuals raised in an environment that feel inadequate, shamed, convinced that they're immoral for their feelings & condition themselves to exist as heterosexuals. That's been done throughout her/history & still today. How many people have a parent who's pretending to be heterosexual?
I tried not to cry. So touching. So amazing they survived all this time. Thank you for the film and putting light to the letters. I agree that it should be a feature.
This short film captures, so succinctly, what I feel and have felt in my heart of hearts, the essence of TRUE love for another man! Thank you to whomever created and posted this beautiful film!
I agree with you. It is as if someone read my (and your) heart and mind prior to making this short film. Since discovering this short film, I have watched it repeatedly as it gives me solace and hope for the man I love and care for just as much.
This short film is definitely deserving of an Oscar, the letters tell the story, but this film brings them to life for us to marvel at in this time we are living...where those who are open minded, and compassionate, and loving can see the beauty in their story, and feel comforted, and a community that is deserving of the same rights, joys, and freedoms as all the other communities of people. And regrettably, still requiring as it is for people of color, and many other groups to keep pushing for equality in all things in our society. The cinematography was gorgeous, the cuts so well done...and chose LGBTQ cast. It also doesn't hurt that Mr. Postlethwaite, and Mr. Clayton are so easy on the eyes, and talented actors as well. BRAVO to Mr. Vallentine, and all involved. Quite the masterpeice in 9 min! Would LOVE to see this fleshed out to a full feature film...and please try to get both Mr. Postlethwaite and Mr. Clayton to commit to the film version...that would be exquisite!!!

Powerful and beautiful film with so much depth! It’s wonderful work telling a story that the world needs to hear. Your production values, your actors, your crew are superb. Please make more films!
OK....I'm crying my eyes out now. This beautiful story re-enforces the absolute love and passion I have for my husband. I wished that these beautiful, loving men could have had, what we have fraught for and now have. Our love is the purist love that could ever be had and can be expressed without judgement and predigest.
i remember when the guy who collected the letters came to my school a few years ago and mentioned this being in production … just remembered it recently and i’m glad i did because this is beautiful
The music score is unbelievably outstanding. It makes the characters of the two men in love become so emotional and heart-warming. It brings tears of joy to viewers. According to the film director, Bradley told Bowsher he fell in love with another man in Scotland, and their letters became more friendly until they drifted apart and stopped writing to each other in 1945. Bradley kept his letters until his death in 2008. We need a lengthy story of the two men. It is understood that their love story is in the works to be a Hollywood movie.
Heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time, humanity steals so much from us as individuals. Cherish your loved one and never let go.....a beautiful love story in a difficult time, as jamielyalllethan says below....Very emotional and outstanding 8 minutes....This film transported you to the time of this event and immersed you into the lives and feelings of these two lovers. Having my lover close at all times, it tears my heart out thinking about what these two endured.....
Bravo, this was so well done & entertaining without the dismal gay tale with over the top stereotypes, sad confused family men on the DL, furtive secret tryst in undesirable places, musical theatre references or the expected depressing (Brokeback Mountain ) ending. The ending that satisfies a mass audience. KUDOS!
Beautiful made short with powerful messaging. They had to hide their love from the world during that time. How painful that has to be. Love is love and no one should discriminate or be bigoted whom they love. Live and let them live we have no say on other's life and love.......... One day I hope this world will be more accepting and tolerant. It is very volatile at the moment!
What a beautiful story! And expertly told! I loved everything from the actors, thru the music to cinematography, just gorgeous. Does my heart good. ❤❤❤
What an amazing story to be told and bring joy that the letters came to light and shinned there love! It goes to show even during a time when gay people where not excepted no one can take away someone's love for each other ❤️
