Great video for my home park, KI! Many of us locals forget how great it is until we go other places. You have to at least take a walk around the Waterpark. You can go in either at it’s own entrance or by taking the train, or can walk there from Planet Snoopy. Season passes are a must for my family! Notes on the Bat.. used to be called top gun and had top gun theming throughout when it was paramount. Many of us forget to call it the bat! Can’t wait to see you come back!
I see a trip in my future. We had a coaster at Carowinds, like The Racers but was called Thunder Road. It was taken down to make room for a new ride. It was the first coaster I ever rode.

This is so cool. Kings Island was my park growing up! It's wild to see how much has changed and stayed the same. Like Planet Snoopy used to be a Nickelodeon area back when Paramount owned the place!
Fun fact : because of banshees grave yard theme it makes it great because they have a tombstone for son of beast because it takes up its place :) this is commonly known for people that go every year and it looks better in person than on a screen and on the tomb there is a flame to represent the internal fire that still stand for the son of beast it had that much impact if only they added tombs for tomb raider, fire.hawk, screamn demon, vortex king cobra. I mean I guess in one area of orions line it show the blue prints to vortex and 1 or2 other rides :) but I still like the idea of tombstones for them better

"I don't know what ride to go to first" Well.... if you have a gold or platinum pass, the answer is ALWAYS Orion. Ride that about 3-4 times, then hit Mystic, then Diamondback. Go back to Mystic, then hit The Beast. Take the walkway back towards Orion, and you can hit Backlot on the way. Ride Orion again, The Racer, and even Adventure Express. As always, go up and hit Banshee once or 5 times. Make sure to get a night ride on The Beast. Oh yeah..... DO NOT sleep on that blue ice cream!! Also.... at the sweet spot, go in, and grab yourself some of that sweet sweet salt water taffy. At KI you can pick your own flavors, or just get a box. They have every flavor along the walls. Personal favorites include strawberry cream, orange cream, buttered popcorn, blueberries and cream, probably about 10 other flavors that I can't think of right now.
Glad you enjoyed Kings Island. It’s such an amazing park great rides with a deep history, and amazing food! Hope you rode The Beast at night! Nothing else like it.
Phantom Encore is based off of the Phantom Theater. It was a dark ride where Boo Blasters is. It was so awesome and people loved it so much that they had to turn it into a show.
Glad you mentioned this. I was hoping someone did. As soon as I saw the faces on the poster I was transported to 20 years ago. I LOVED Phantom Theater. It was quirky, fun, relaxing, and impressive at the time. Glad to see a proper homage to some KI roots. Cedar Fair does a fantastic job respecting the traditions of KI even of the previous owners.
Also as my family still says junior high and we don't say middle school as often for Woodstock express we call it beasty still so.for some reason when I hear Woodstock express I get mad and want to yell that its called beasty we just call every thing by past names if the name changed
KI is the best park. CP has the edge on rides, but you can't beat the park experience at KI. Which is why it was voted 3rd best park in the US, and CP was 6.
@@Spike-sk7ql I actually preferred Kings Island over Cedar Point after my first visit to both parks in 2015 but then I had a better time when I revisited Cedar Point in 2017.
@@mitchellries256 I go to both parks a lot over the season. I'm not saying you're wrong, but we have a far better time at KI than CP. So much so, that I would much rather drive 4 hours to KI, than 1.5 hrs to CP. Maybe it's just because I'm a bit pissed off at CP for how crappy they've been treating their platinum pass holders, AND resort guests since late 2019 when they decided a $99 gold pass is just what the park needs.

Hi Dylan, I think it's always a good idea to pack up some Crocs when you visit some theme parks. So that you could do a footwear switch quickly in case you need to embark on rides that would get your feet wet. :)
Picked up my season pass today...how was lines, and any covid protocol causing any headaches? I normally go every year but once Covid kicked off screwed things up...Thanks for any info

Wanna visit here so bad! Not many parks have that great a variety of coasters. Wish it had another dark ride, but the coasters, the entertainment, and the overall vibe are all top notch
I have a question! Did they have a place for your bag on the Banshee? I remember when it first opened they didn't, and people had to either get a locker, have someone else hold it that wasn't riding, or just not be able to ride. Going tomorrow with some friends and just wanted to make sure! Thanks! :)
No not when we went, we had to put our things in a locker. I just rented a multi use locker though so I can use multiple locations throughout the day for one price. 👍
What a fun video! We lived by Kings Island for years and watched their fireworks from our second floor window. We loved having season passes and hitting all those awesome rides!
Cool I live in Dayton Ohio not too far away and it is really fun although I've only gotten to see the fireworks a few times but they did stop the beast when my mom was on it so she and the other passengers could watch the fireworks

Also Haunt during Halloween is awesome and like you said Winterfest is a must do. Granted most of the coasters are closed due to cold temps. But Flight of Fear and Mystic Timbers should be running.

I skip that and the bat. I tried to take my son on the bat one of his first trips down there being tall enough. His words were "can we go to diamondback now? That was boring". So much for easing him into them lol. So, now we just start them off on the biggest they're tall enough for.

This is my second favorite Cedar Fair park just behind Cedar Point and was one of those parks I has a huge urge to visit once I got into theme parks.

Good water repellant hiking shoes work too. Make walking around the park easier too.

Racer is 2 credits?? Do you count all racing coasters as two credits or is this one specific to being two credits?
Rides like Superman at MM I have counted as one but this one I counted as two because they are two separate layouts apart from eachother. 😁

Kings island in Mason Ohio
It's about 20 miles north of Cincinnati. Lately, I've been more willing to take the nearly 4 hour trip down here, than the hour and a half trip to CP.
