Brilliant content, Taz. Regular synthetic and heat-friendly fibres steaming is the best maintenance for extending the life of fibre and ameliorating friction damage; use steam after each wear. Steam is where it's at - limit washing, I agree and try and limit the use of leave-in conditioners as these do build up and leave a residue on the fibre which with time can have the reverse effect on the fibres through build-up and that necessitates washing. Something you want to avoid as much as practicable. So - steam is the way to go, wide-tooth comb and finger untangling after each wear then hit it with steam. I've had units last up to six to 12-months using this method.
Excellent info. I've seen inexperienced wig wearers practically destroy a wig by being so rough and not using products. 25 years ago I had a clip on pony and I would yank all those tangles with a metal-tooth wig brush, didn't have any products and never washed. The wig-wearing public is so much better informed now, thanks to folks such as yourself. Thanks for sharing.
This is helpful, Taz. I have all those products except the TDI. I only have a handful of heat-defiant wigs. My favorite is Elizabeth and I handle her like egg shells. She seems to take the Simply Styling well. I have so many wigs that I haven't had to wash her yet, but when I do, I will put that silicone on first as you suggest. The few I have washed (mostly to try to tame them out of the box), I just wash in unscented fabric softener -- no detergent. The only other thing I could add is that I think the looped brushes are the gentlest and I use only those for the few wigs that I brush, mostly the straight styles like Elizabeth, Straight Up, Cameron, Kristi, etc. I only use the JR comb on the wavy ones. Also, I just don't change the style at all. That is part of what we pay for!
You are a pro, Liz! Thanks so much for sharing your tips! I'd be curious to see if the 'pre conditioning" method works for you when you try it:-) Have a great weekend! XOXO
@Julie Sprik I own over 20 wigs. 12 of them are Toni Brattin. My absolute faves are the Toni brattin heat friendly (make sure they are heat friendly) Hair looks and feels so real and is NOT over shiny..and color is gorgeous (I prefer the light blonde with brown roots). I walked int ot he bank last week and the manager just kept staring and finally said..WOW, I love your hair, the color is amazing. I hear this all the time now:) Try one, you will not regret it
Oh, I agree with Taz, do not brush and comb too much. Fingercomb/style with water or water and a little hairspray...they seem more durable than other. Just my opinion:)
RW heat friendly are my favorite wigs. This video was so helpful. You have a well thought out procedure for taking care of these wigs. And I plan to use all of your suggestions. Thank you.
I love EP on you! I also love EP and have several but like you I dont wear them that often. I think after seeing this video I will be getting mine out! Like always, great info Taz!
Hi Taz, thanks for sharing your experience with us. I bought 2 raquel-welch-wigs Heat resistant and 100 % hand tied. Straight up with a twist and Upstage. Bought them second hand for $80 and $100 but look like new. So I felt very lucky. No tangles, no frizzy. They were only a little bit dull and dry looking. I gave them a mist of Salon Pro African Essence Control Wig Spray 3-1. Worked great! It revived the color and they now look like brand new. I have also a Noriko wig, I treat my wigs as if they are gold. 😊 Also looked at a video of John Renau, they say Heat resistant wigs NEEDS HEAT after a while. Therefore the steaming works great I think on Heat resistant fibers. 👍
It's called african essence because it has a hint of coconut. But the smell vanishes after a short time. So that shouldn't be a problem, the product does a good job I think.
Such great tips. Would like to share another tip with older wigs about at their end. Wash and condition as usual. Rinse and fill sink with warm tap water add a cap full of unscented fabric soft Downey Soak over night. That coats and softens fibre like silk. The smell of scented is much too strong of lingering odor . Back in the 1980s I was working out of London bringing Monofilament hair extensions to USA. Back then the fabric softener was all we had before wig products .Also can be used own your natural hair and scalp with no worry. Hope this may help someone.. stay beautiful
All these comments about Downey Fabric Softener are so amusing to me. I and all my friends back in the day (think 1970) used Downey on our hair as a conditioner, then we let it dry and ironed it! Right on the ironing board with heat on low. They didn't make flat irons back then. Yes, it made our hair so shiny and silky and straight as was the style.... and was so cheap. We all smelled like it! LOL Now, here I am at 70 with thinning hair and using it again on wigs! LOLOLOL
Thank you. This was very helpful. There are people who will not buy a style that's heat friendly because you can usually find a similar one in regular synthetic. But I did buy califia and will try these techniques as I wear her. I'll see how it goes but I have to admit I don't see a lot of these in my future. I like the sure thing that you get with synthetic and the convenience. If I thought my califia would last as long if I did all these techniques I would repeat buying another heat friendly. But if it still isn't going to go the distance after I do all this, I don't see the point. Thank you for all the good information in here. Since I did make that investment I'm going to do all of this of course!
Love you Chanel Taz, would it be possible to do a tutorial on how to curl the wigs, Is there a way you can get a beachy wave on a straight wig. Thanks so much.
I absolutely adore the wig that you have on ! This is a very interesting subject and I'm glad you covered it. I've always been curious about these types of wigs ! Excellent and very much needed presentation, Taz ! It really helped me a lot and I will keep this information in mind before I make that purchase ! Lots of love, blessings and hugs to you ! You are fantastic, beautiful !
Hi Taz. I love my editors pick too. It's almost two years old. I find that using the instyler works wonders. I was afraid to try it, but I put it on the lowest setting and it makes lovely curls or straightens. Thank you for these videos. They have helped me so much!
Hi Taz! It's a tool that gives an airless blowout on dry hair. My wig was old, so I gave it a try, if I ruined it I didn't care. I saw it on the Today Show's Steals and Deals for $50.00. It works on the lowest setting for fine hair, so I tried it on the heat defiant wig. Look up Instyler.com. I feel it's worth it even if it gives me an extra couple of weeks of wearing the wig.
Hi Taz...been lurking around on your videos for quite a while...LOL. LOVE all of the helpful advice you give fro your personal experience! I have been more bold in my wig buying and wearing. You are an encourgement to me! I prayed for your son while you all were going through the aftermath of his accident. Hope he is doing better. Keep up the great wig vids. I am hooked!
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Thank you for replying Taz,my girls have left with their dad for the weekend and my depression and anxiety has kicked in big time 😞 it's so hard living with depression and having no one to chat or hang out with.I try to be strong for my children, they are basically the only reason I'm still here.I have low self-esteem and wigs help me to feel a little better about myself.I need a new one as the only one I have left is terrible looking now.I have waisted lots of money in the past due to being uneducated enough to know how to look after HD plus I had NO idea what brand would fit me (Jon Renau, Renae of Paris and Ellen Willie don't fit well especially Jon Renau as the ear tabs don't come down enough) so unfortunately I lost lots of money from buying them and had to sell on eBay.i also learnt quickly that long HD don't last very long unless you have several to rotate so I know to stick with bobs or styles that aren't long.I'm 22.3 centimetres in circumference and have a low hairline like the lovely Marlene,my bio hair is medium brown.I love rooted blondes because of being able to blend or hide my bio hair.I usually wear bell tress but I would love a RW wig, especially On point and Current events but I'm not sure what blonde rooted colour would blend with my bio hair.I absolutely love the colour of shaded Biscuit but I'm not sure if it will blend with my hair so I'm really confused.I wish I could have a few wigs to rotate so I don't have to wear the same wig so often as I know that would be much better but I can't afford it 🤦🏼 I hate stressing about money as life gets hard enough as it is.Anyway I'm so sorry for carrying on so much I feel a bit silly but I wanted you to know that your comment has given me a smile and came at the perfect time 🩷 thank you once again for taking the time to leave me a comment ☺️
You made me a convert. I use a hot air brush and wig mist. And rollers as its drying from the wig mist. Then I put the wig in a bonnet hair dryer. lol! But it works. Thanks to you.
This was so great! Being new to wigs, I've watched a lot of wig tutorials and so many use dry shampoo and styling sprays. IMO, that's asking for sticky build-up. I really appreciate your "hands-off" approach!
A generous silicone spray down before a wash? That's a new approach. I have a HD wig I have a love/hate relationship (mostly hate) that I'm going to try this on tonight. Thanks for the tip.
Loved the video Taz!! I'm learning so very much!! Love editors pick sooo pretty!! You look Gorgeous in her Taz!! Thank you as always for an amazing review!! Love XOXOXO!
Thank you for your tips. My own wig shop person told me that soaking in fabric softener was the worst thing I could do (I had gotten that tip from another TH-cam channel and thought it made sense and let her know that I tried it). She said the only thing I should be washing the wig in is regular shampoo. However, my very expensive wig has dried frizzy ends and I've only had it since Christmas. I wear my wig daily and I'm so disappointed and am not sure what to believe. Her suggestion was to use a curling iron on it. Does this sound correct? Help!
I now only use shampoo designed for synthetic wigs and wash sparingly to preserve fibers. Fabric softener soaks have never harmed any of my wigs, but I am getting best results with shampoo and conditioner. You might try a spritz of Simply Stylin Light Silk Silicon Spray on the ends after detangling, etc.. and after washing to help preserve fibers. th-cam.com/video/6A5-4UmxoZk/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps! XOXO
Thanks for a very useful and informative video, once again 😊. We spend so much money on our wigs and need to keep them looking there best as long as we can. Having said that, I’m still not sure about washing mine as I’m afraid I’ll ruin them and I can’t afford to replace them 😭 x
Taz, I have Upstage by RW. I tried the detangler every time but maybe I used too much. It affected the fullness of the wig. It wasn't tangled but it would clump a bit. It looked wiggish. So then, I used dry shampoo to get some body. It has been so much work. I like to shake and go with my wigs. I love RW styles but wish that RW would make more wigs that weren't heat resistant. I love to watch your You Tube videos!
Hello wonderful Taz, you know so much about wigs and their care. This was very helpful again. I do´t have any heat friendly wig yet, but I love Raquel Welch wigs with these fibers. xoxo
I have Upstage which also has heat-friendly fibers and this is SO helpful, thank you!! Great detail. This is like a wig care master class. :D I really need to get a steamer, it's on my wish list.
Wow, Taz, great info and I'm three years late on this one but I just got the notification on my phone. Haha. Anyway, 15 years of wearing wigs, I've learned how to manipulate my wigs to make them last longer than a year. One of the reasons why I like HF wigs is that you can open the oven door and not have fried hair. I mean not to the point of sticking your head in the oven, that is. Also, even short wigs with 3 to 3.5" nape can tangle so i use the Jon Renau conditioner on mine. But variety is the spice of life and you need to give your wigs a break and switch around now and then but not everyone is fortunate in having an abundance of wigs on hand. Even so, your steps in caring for HF plus regular synthetics are spot on! I love my Jon Renau steamer and use it a lot. Thanks for the great info!
I sm curious how to make them softer. I have a Raquel Welch Tru-to-Life fibre Free Time wig, I have heightened skin sensitivity, and I find it nearly unbearable to wear. Help!!!!
I searched out this video exclusively because I'm sure having trouble w/my Upstages. The latest ones I purchased became frizzy after just a few wearings. Very disappointing ☹ I'm trying the steam method this afternoon. Thank you!
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Hey,I worked on a few wigs yesterday evening and the steaming along w/some judicious trimming helped tremendously. Have a blessed week!
I have a regular hand-held steamer. Wondering if I could use that or must I use a “wig steamer “. Thank you kindly I saved this informative video because I just purchased the Devocion and I want to keep those curls!!!
You can use a hand held steamer, but be careful. The steamer I use has a concentrating nozzle on it so I can target the steam exactly where I want it. (see link) A regular steamer has a more diffuse application and you may inadvertently straighten or alter areas that you didn't intend:-) www.wigstudio1.com/products/wig-steamer-by-jon-renau?_pos=2&_sid=d3d8d694e&_ss=r
Which essential products do I need to care for a heat friendly synthetic wig? And what products can I use for styling? I'm just starting out, so learning all of this. If you limit washing, what about the lace front where glue residue would be? I ❤ your videos! Thanks!
Does heat friendly frizz in humidity..l need to purchase a wig to wear on my holiday in tropics. I'm worried that heat friendly will loose style and frizz in heat
Taz, One more thing, doesn't the steam take the curl out of a wig if you comb through it? I've seen videos where they steam it and use the flatiron to get out the frizz. Then, one would have to re-curl it.
Thank you for the very informative video! I am new to wearing wigs. All of your videos are very helpful. I am curious to learn more about using fabric softener. Do you have directions on how to use. I have two HF wigs and I wear them quite frequently.
Dear Taz, Thank You so much for your invaluable advice! I would like to add one comment about the Jon Renau comb ... This is a piece of rubbish ... I bought it and made sure - all the teeth have seams! Sharp curvy seams from sheep cast. Cheap and poor quality plastic... Best of all - PERFECT, for HD fiber combing with originally French combs. They have smooth teeth, are hand polished, varnished and do not scratch the delicate hair of an expensive wig.
Taz, I love the low density Belle Tress heat friendly wigs, but I fear they will take too much work & time. Should I avoid them? I know you are well versed in HD fibers. Thank you.
It really depends on how much time you want to spend on maintenance and how often and how long you're wearing the wig. Belle Tress fibers are devine, but will take some time to detangle and moisturize to keep them looking nice:-) XOXO
Great video and lots of excellent advice. You explain everything very well, and I love the detail. don't have any heat friendly fibre wigs yet, but you mentioned that you steam on regular synthetic wigs as well. Would that steam, that is concentrated on the one little area from the end of the tube, not be TOO hot for the regular synthetics? The moist heat does sound better than the dry heat of the blow dryer, but I'd be too afraid I think! How close would you pass that steam tube on regular synthetic fibres? ~M~
Hi! I use steam on all my wigs, even non heat friendly synthetics. I hold nozzle about 3 inches from hair, wave it over the strands very quickly..I do not HOLD it in place over one area. You can always do more if needed. Hope that helps! XOXO
TAZSWIGCLOSET me too! I may buy it from the website simplywigs.co.uk. I just bought the Ellen Wille Impress and love it! I like the fact that her wigs are thin and not so thick and heavy.
Hi Taz. Thanks for the link to this video. Just curious is there any way to use heat on a wig styled like editor’s pick and maintain the same style? TIA
Hi Taz, When you soak your wig in the fabric softener,do you rinse it off? I’ve heard different opinions. I just purchased my first heart friendly fiber. Thanks 💖
Love ❤️ your channel, Taz! You’ve inspired me & got my 1st wig (RW Embrace) I heard on Mimi’s wig closet you can use Windex on your wigs to “de-gunk” them & they’ll be like new. Have you heard of doing this? Have you tried it? I’m learning so much from you! Thanks for all of your hard work, your inspiration & beautiful spirit ❤️ -Wendy
Hello Wendy! I personally would not use ammonia/Windex on my wigs, but I have heard that some ladies do! I would be concerned about it drying out the fibers... and a shampoo designed for synthetic wigs works well to "de-gunk"! Happy New Year to you! XOXO
Taz, I just ordered my first gd wig. Needless to say that every word you say count:)) What do you mean when you say...try to make a bun? Can you please explain? Thank you
Thank you Taz for the info! Very well done! I just purchased Curve Appeal by Rachel Welch and I see what you mean by tangling! She’s going to be a special occasion wig! Do you find Free Time to be the same?
I bought my first wig online and hasn't arrived yet, but I watched a video about heat resistant wigs should never be styled with ceramic or metal , so they advised air stylers I think that is a never ending spending money, could you tell your opinion please?
I am not afraid to use any heat appliance on my HF styles if necessary, but I generally stay away from using heat because it can decrease the life span of my wig. XOXO
Oh Taz, how can I put my favourite style in a ponytail? I can't keep my hands of HD fibers! 😍 Honestly, I constantly touch the hair! Anyway, how long do you leave the silicone spray on a wig before washeng her? And also, will steaming not make curls straight? Many thanks!!!
Steaming may straighten curls a bit, but my piece was fairly straight at the nape before steaming:-) I spray with silicon spray, wait a minute and wash as normal. Hope this helps! XOXO
I soak handtied wigs.. I am just careful not to scrub near the knots and I do not rub or spray conditioners near the knotting.. That's just my experience.. if you are unsure, best not to:-) XOXO
I’m so confused. I just got my first Raquel Welch wig (maximum impact in shaded biscuit), and I love the style and color of the wig but the fibers feel awful! They feel so dry and scraggly. I feel like I can’t fluff it without it getting full of tangles. I’m constantly brushing it and trying to run my fingers through it, but it’s always so tangly! Did I get a dud, or is this normal? Lol
Hello! You might want to reach out to the retailer and/or manufacturer. I have received a couple pieces that feel more course than than others, but nothing so drastic as you describe. Maybe try a soak in fabric softener solution.. and use a good spray conditioner. Avoid using product in the hair also. I have been successful using steam to soften fibers as well..but be cautious with steam, it will release any curl in the style. XOXO
Funny, I see no reason to buy heat friendly except for special occasions. So I have two of these. I hardly ever wear them but it's nice that they're there when I need them. When you say you really have no choice because you like the style, I must be in the minority. There are so many choices of wigs and colors these days that I can always find something in regular synthetic that's fabulous. I don't like the lack of flexibility with these. The first thing I do when I see a wig review is hope that right up front they'll say what kind of fiber. I think until they improve on the durability women with more limited budgets are going to by regular synthetic mostly. Besides you're buying it for a certain Style so the fact that you need to apply heat to them changes things up and you can never get it back. I am so in the minority apparently.
Taz. You should know an ad for Kammi Wigs (I think that's right) just came up in the middle of your review. The video is you and they're selling wigs under $30.00. I wanted to tell you so you can try and get it pulled. This has to be such a frustration for you. But having a rip off company advertisement during your review is over the top. TH-cam should do better.
Hi Jessica! Isn't that a kick in the pants! ? I'm lost for words. I have contacted Google ad sense to remove their ads from my videos. Here's hoping! XOXO
Hi ladies..update! I blocked Kami Wigs from advertising on my channel by “blocking” their URL on my ad account. When the ads continue to appear I’m being told that the ads are being served by multiple URLs... impossible to get rid of without knowing them all. I just now blocked the whole beauty category, but to be fully rid of them I would have to demonetize my account. This so upsetting. Thank you all for the support.🥰🥰🥰🥰
Absolutely! The care and products for HD synthetic fiber is the same as regular synthetic, it just takes more time and diligence with HD fiber as they are more prone to breakdown from friction:-) XOXO
Thank you, Taz! I tried this on a wig that I was thinking of throwing out and it looks marvelous! I'll get a little more time with it. I have learned so much from you and I've ordered some of my favorite wigs due to your very helpful reviews. Now, another question...I like the style of the Violet by Estetica but want to move to a better-made wig like Gabor or Rachel Welch, etc. Do you have a suggestions? I'm only 4'11" so I have to be careful about too much volume but love those loose curls.
Can’t wait for the day a non tangling, non frizzing, non matting synthetic hair fiber is created. Otherwise, a wig’s lifespan is 3 short months ☹️☹️☹️☹️ And at $200-500+, that’s depressing.
They don't make those long lasting wigs because they are earning less money. Now we're keep on buying wigs and expencive products to maintain them. It's all business . 😏
Yes, unfortunately they cannot be stopped despite complaints. FB is not doing enough to end this kind of theft. Just in case you missed my video on this. XOXO th-cam.com/video/9XM1I4fToSM/w-d-xo.html
I think Taz is just darling! The wig in this video makes her look 25 again! She's perfection!!! GO TAZ❣

Thanks for the tips. Really appreciate it! I have an HD topper. Ends getting a little “crispy” ❤️
You made me a convert. I use a hot air brush and wig mist. And rollers as its drying from the wig mist. Then I put the wig in a bonnet hair dryer. lol! But it works. Thanks to you.
Thanks for sharing Michele! You have this to a science.. where I wouldn't have the patience, there are so many out there that need this info! XOXO
This was so great! Being new to wigs, I've watched a lot of wig tutorials and so many use dry shampoo and styling sprays. IMO, that's asking for sticky build-up. I really appreciate your "hands-off" approach!
Thank you so much I was going to wash my wig because it look so dry. Heat friendly.
Ellen Wille. Now I know thanks to you❤️
A generous silicone spray down before a wash? That's a new approach. I have a HD wig I have a love/hate relationship (mostly hate) that I'm going to try this on tonight. Thanks for the tip.
o3MTA3o Hope you see a difference! Let us know💕💕💕
Loved the video Taz!! I'm learning so very much!! Love editors pick sooo pretty!! You look Gorgeous in her Taz!! Thank you as always for an amazing review!! Love XOXOXO!
Jackie Marsh Thank you! Have a wonderful weekend 💕💕💕
XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Thank you very much! I appreciate your help!
Love your opinion on this =)
Hello wonderful Taz, you know so much about wigs and their care. This was very helpful again. I do´t have any heat friendly wig yet, but I love Raquel Welch wigs with these fibers. xoxo
Thanks so much for the feedback, Rita! XOXO
I have Upstage which also has heat-friendly fibers and this is SO helpful, thank you!! Great detail. This is like a wig care master class. :D I really need to get a steamer, it's on my wish list.
Best tips to prolong the life of heat friendly wigs. Thank you!
Help!!!!
Thank you Taz. These tips are extremely helpful!
I'm so glad Monika! Have a great Friday! XOXO
I am going to get some of that HM conditioner too. Can it be used on non-HF fibers? Like my Hayden wig?
Yup! It's formulated for standard synthetic wigs... but I use it on all my wigs. XOXO
I like Belle Madame Hair Shine for my dimethicone spray.
I LOVE that product!!
I searched out this video exclusively because I'm sure having trouble w/my Upstages. The latest ones I purchased became frizzy after just a few wearings.
Very disappointing ☹
I'm trying the steam method this afternoon.
Thank you!
Good luck! XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Hey,I worked on a few wigs yesterday evening and the steaming along w/some judicious trimming helped tremendously.
Have a blessed week!
I like using a wet dry curling iron....wetting hair before hand.
Do you have the white grey without the dark in the top?
I buy my wigs at www.wigstudio1.com. They have lots of grey shades. If you need assistance, please email support@wigstudio1.com XOXO
Once Again Taz, You are the Best! Thank You so much. 😇
I have a regular hand-held steamer. Wondering if I could use that or must I use a “wig steamer “. Thank you kindly
I saved this informative video because I just purchased the Devocion and I want to keep those curls!!!
Thank you for making this video! Another great one, packed with information!
Thanks so much for watching Stacy! It's a beautiful thing when we can all share information to get the most from our wigs! Have a great weekend! XOXO
I agree! I’m taking some of these tips and going to work on my Maximum Impact Wig!
Which essential products do I need to care for a heat friendly synthetic wig? And what products can I use for styling? I'm just starting out, so learning all of this. If you limit washing, what about the lace front where glue residue would be? I ❤ your videos! Thanks!
Thank you! I recommend you email support@wigtudio1.com. They have dedicated consultatants that can help you in more detail than I can here:-) XOXO
Does heat friendly frizz in humidity..l need to purchase a wig to wear on my holiday in tropics. I'm worried that heat friendly will loose style and frizz in heat
HF fiber does not frizz in humidity.. only human hair wigs experience this effect:-) XOXO
Thank you again for your great videos! This one is also very helpful! XO!
Taz, One more thing, doesn't the steam take the curl out of a wig if you comb through it? I've seen videos where they steam it and use the flatiron to get out the frizz. Then, one would have to re-curl it.
Hello. Yes, I mentioned in the video demo that steam will straighten the fiber.. Thanks!
Where can I find the steamer you use?

@@TAZSWIGCLOSET thank you
Thank you for the very informative video! I am new to wearing wigs. All of your videos are very helpful. I am curious to learn more about using fabric softener. Do you have directions on how to use. I have two HF wigs and I wear them quite frequently.
HI there! You might find this helpful! th-cam.com/video/M8fnCp2Uoaw/w-d-xo.html XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Thank you so much!
I can't add a macro picture for comparing this two combs unfortunately. But is its true
Thanks Taz. Really helpful information.
XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Thanks so much! Good to know. :)
Taz I love my RW heat friendly wigs! If I just wear 1 once a week and take care of them the right way do you think they will last maybe a year?
Can’t thank you enough for this video 👏
where can we purchase the wig steamer ?????
www.wigstudio1.com/products/wig-steamer-by-jon-renau?_pos=1&_sid=7b71bf0e1&_ss=r
Such a great video.. I always pick up a new tip!
Taz can you review the Ellen Wille Lola More wig? It is lovely!
What a stunning style! It reminds me of a long grown out Storyville which I also love.. I hope Lola comes available in the US market!
TIA
Any time you alter the style with heat it will stay like that until you use heat to change it again:-) Hope this helps! XOXO
Hi Taz, When you soak your wig in the fabric softener,do you rinse it off? I’ve heard different opinions. I just purchased my first heart friendly fiber. Thanks 💖
If I do a dilute fabric softener soak, I always thoroughly rinse.. thats just how I do it, I don't know if its better XOXO
Thanks for all of your hard work, your inspiration & beautiful spirit ❤️
-Wendy
Hello Wendy! I personally would not use ammonia/Windex on my wigs, but I have heard that some ladies do! I would be concerned about it drying out the fibers... and a shampoo designed for synthetic wigs works well to "de-gunk"! Happy New Year to you! XOXO
Taz, I just ordered my first gd wig. Needless to say that every word you say count:)) What do you mean when you say...try to make a bun?
Can you please explain? Thank you
Thanks Taz, really great information. 💕
I think I heard you say you no longer use steam.
Steam is no longer my go-to for "styling" a wig, but it is useful for worn fibers. XOXO
Thank you Taz for the info! Very well done! I just purchased Curve Appeal by Rachel Welch and I see what you mean by tangling! She’s going to be a special occasion wig! Do you find Free Time to be the same?
Yes.. Unfortunately any heat friendly style that hits below the collar will be extra maintenance 😁💕💕
Question : do you mix pure silicone with water? Which brand is this silicone?
I use Simply Stylin Silk Spray.. you will find it in my Amazon store under Wig Care & Styling products:-) www.amazon.com/shop/tazswigcloset
XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET thank you! Blessings!🥰🥰🥰
You look so pretty with your wig. Is that a regular or Elite editor’s pick?
Regular.
XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Thank you!
so much to remember
Can you soak a handtied Raquel Welch wig?
I soak handtied wigs.. I am just careful not to scrub near the knots and I do not rub or spray conditioners near the knotting.. That's just my experience.. if you are unsure, best not to:-) XOXO
I like heat friendly because I have a woodstove and the heat from it doesnt melt my wig.
XOXO
Wonderful video Taz and OMG....Editors Pick.... I need it in my life! :)) Hugs my friend xoxo
Yes you do Sus... I hope you can experience it some day soon! XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET I live in hope! :) xoxo

Thanks so much for the feedback! XOXO
You need to be a tech on how to be a wig owner and get payed for it 😇😍so great 👍 I am learning so much thanks 😊
Do you every bring your wigs to an experienced hairdresser to just trim the snarls?
HI Molly! I live in a small town area... none of the hairdressers will work on wigs in my area.. Good idea though!
Don't go to just any hairdresser, but a wig specialist. It is very different than real hair.
Great video! I learned a lot. 😘
Hi Taz,
Can we apply steam to a heat defying wig?
I would appreciate a response. Sincerely, Francine Séguin from 🇨🇦
Again me again. Can I apply steam on a heat defiant wig to style it and can I thin a heat defiant wig? Thanks again. Francine Séguin
Hello there! Yes! In fact, I prefer using steam to style a heat defiant wig.. in my experience, I get a better more long lasting result:-) XOXO
Thank you precious Taz! Can I thin a heat defiant wig?
XOXO
I saw it too. Sadly, it was very believable in the way it was done. 😣
Yes I've seen that too...several times😕
It came on when I was viewing this as well. It came on with another video I was viewing of Taz's as well.
Would it be okay to use these products on a regular synthetic wig that is starting to age?
Ill buy one if I will look like you. :)
Thank you!
Another reason you might like heat friendly styles is because they are not shiny like regular synthetic wigs. 🙂
💯🤗🥰
This is very true! =) it's a major reason I love them :D
Do you own a wig shop?
No, I work with www.wigstudio1.com and buy all my wigs from them! They are terrific! XOXO
I love the wig but I prefer to have no root
Ive learned if you do nothing else DONOT brush it and only use a wide tooth comb.
I wish I had known not to brush them. I brush the crap out of mine.....
Make sure no Alcohol in it 😋
Can’t wait for the day a non tangling, non frizzing, non matting synthetic hair fiber is created. Otherwise, a wig’s lifespan is 3 short months ☹️☹️☹️☹️
And at $200-500+, that’s depressing.
BabyNapoleon 💯💯💯
They don't make those long lasting wigs because they are earning less money. Now we're keep on buying wigs and expencive products to maintain them. It's all business . 😏
You are so right!
They only last 3 months? Wow really?! That _is_ depressing 😔What about human hair wigs, how long do they last?
Kami wigs sell cheap knock offs and uses this video to make perspective buyers think you are advocating their wigs.
Yes, unfortunately they cannot be stopped despite complaints. FB is not doing enough to end this kind of theft. Just in case you missed my video on this. XOXO th-cam.com/video/9XM1I4fToSM/w-d-xo.html
Wow. So much to learn. THANK You Taz. I appreciate the tips 🧡
