Did you have any problems with hyper flashing. New to corvette world just purchased a c5 and want to start doing upgrades including lights but every article I read says you need a harness to fix this problem.
Hey I’ve been considering getting a ‘99 white C5 since this guy is giving me a good deal. He wants $6500,it has 46500 miles and he’s the only owner. The only thing that doesn’t work are the retractable seat belts. His reason for selling is that he has 4 cars and barely drives it anymore.
Hey Chris... I have the same HALO tail lights on my C5... What I did with mine that I noticed you didn't do was that I sealed the gap between the HALO and the 'Vette. It's a very small gap, but you know it's there. I took some thin black rubber foam weather strip tape, like the one you use on windows, and cut it to size. I then removed the adhesive backing from the foam strip and placed it inside the tail light hole. What you're doing, in other words, is making a gasket for the HALO's to rest on. I then installed the HALO's and they turned out AWESOME! It gives the HALO's a really nice finished look and those ugly gaps between the back of the HALO's and the 'Vette are gone! Just food for thought Bro... Stay safe... Rico
Hi Chris, love the video's trying to decide and not quite sure, there is a lot of aftermarket tail lights on ebay not sure there coming from the same source i want the best do you recommended Corvette Envey or another source ?
Whatsup Chris..wow..easy fix but what a difference..they are so cool and i'd definitely have the new ones. The clean white lines on your C5 look great. Hope mum n baby are fine...enjoyed watching your vlog as i'm off on holiday from work at the moment..regards from England.
mine just came today ,can't wait update: I did mine Saturday, so a couple notes, my hardware was stock I presume, T5 touques, I bought the #8 stainless machine screws, they will fit but not as easy as stock. Stock is not a machine screw for me, so I cleaned it up a bit and they went back in much easier . I found it harder to line up the machine screw to the mount, that's about how it goes for me normally 😝
Great video Chris. I finally figured out your exhaust that kept me curious for the longest time. You do have the titanium exhaust as we all know because you showed us the magnet test. But your tips are aftermarket Mid-America chrome tips. Somewhere down the line, the person who got that z06 exhaust must of had rusted out or damaged tips. So they had those put on.
I just bought the same ones on Ebay for $220 and will be doing the halo mod myself with the help of a video tutorial here on TH-cam. However, I have an issue with these and notice yours has the same issue. That being, the locking tab for the bulb socket is way too short to be useful. The bulb socket is also very loose fitting, causing the bulb socket to jiggle loose and fall out while driving. This makes the housings prone to moisture inside the lens, seeing water can now enter through the bulb socket hole. For the price of these, this is an unacceptable quality flaw.
@@mycorvettelife Then you must have thicker lamp holder gaskets than I do. Either way, they don't have long enough locking tabs like the stock housings, therefore they cant lock on like they should. Think I may order a set from Corvette Envy just to compare them. From what I can tell by their pics, they are identical in every way. Even has the same white "20180307009" part number sticker on the back.
@@mycorvettelife I just purchased some foam rubber adhesive gasket material on Amazon so I can make thicker gaskets for a tighter fit. I can tell from your video at the 4:00 mark that yours are still loose also. Here is a link to the gasket material if your interested: smile.amazon.com/dp/B01IC7THJ2/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_Yh23DbSA4HH2R
Very sweet 👍🏻
They make a c4 kit?
Not that I know of.
Thinking of getting a 80k mile 2001 u think it’s still a good example
Yes
One of my halo mod taillights are out. Any idea on how to replace the bulb?
I have this set and one of my halos isn't working, how would I diagnose if it's a wiring problem or internal to the tail light unit?

Yes, you need the hyperflash harness.
Looks awesome...! Do they make these Halo Lights for a C4 95 corvette?
Not to my knowledge.
Thanks Chris, great video.

New clear front housings and led switchbacks look great with those taillights.

Agreed, have all those on my speedway white. Plus found those front housings melted heh.
@@serenedelusions mine were toasted and turned black. We both got lucky nothing burned.

EBay doesn’t have the real ones. There is a reason they are cheaper. Mine are not loose. In fact sometimes they are too tight and can’t get them off.

Also purchased a compass cutter for making perfect circles, cheap on ebay:

Fits nice and tight now :-)
Personally I prefer non halo led tail lights with a bit of a smoked look
