You need to do the "Flush mount" mod for the tails also. Makes a subtle difference.

Extremely cool mod. Honestly, this tips the scale for me... a few small changes and the C5 is actually a desirable Vette again 👍

Justin u have opened my eyes up about , C5, C6, & always C7, just need low miles & ur condition ur C5 , has , more of a STRONG , Foundation , & build up from there ...... PLUS $$$$$ not as much as C7 , crazy .
Timeless design... much better than a new v6 muscle I'd rather drive this than ecoboost.. mustang convertible.. smh. Some guys..lol 😆 🤣

One of the best nighttime LED upgrades for sure. Just getting started and each LED upgrade will be better than the last. Use a T15 instead of Phillips screw driver for all those screws lol.
Yeah I plan on upgrading them in the future. I was surprised the tail lights didn't come with something a little nicer to hold them in.

I got my holo led taillights about 14 years ago. Still like new and very bright today.
They look great!! Huge improvement and removes the dated taillights!

If you get an after market exhaust, I recommend the B&B System. I have them and love it!

I really wish there were more aftermarket options. I once saw a clear set similar to the C7 Z06/ZR1 style on eBay, but they were an old listing. I really wish someone made some nice looking white/grey tail lights for the C5. Or even the white halo rings like the C6 Mishimoto lights. That would look amazing.

I got these same lights for my C4 project. I have a c5 kit for my 85.
I'm going to install these but I'm going to leave the hyper flash it looks just fine think it's cool.. people know your turning so be it.. especially going in and out of lanes.. very cool ..
Kept my hyper flash too 👍🏽 “safer” imo lol

Just installed these lights on my c5z today and I love them!! For me I didn't even need to install the hyperflash harness haha. Didn't get any hyper flashing on the turn signals, I guess I got lucky!!

I didn’t read through the comments. But the lights are slightly angled inward. You can’t tell looking face on, but you can see it if you stand them up and view them from the top.
I haven't noticed such a thing, but are you saying they are like that from factory or just the aftermarket ones?
@@HorsePowerObsessed it’s aftermarket. If you have an email or Facebook I can send pics. I love the digi dash on the c4 but the rear bumper and skirts of the C5 are more, appealing to the eye.

Its a nice mod. On another note, Corvette C8s are destroying car shows STOCK. If they become anymore flamboyant then its only going to increase the desire to own them. If Lambos and other brands dont come to car shows without a serious wrap or paint scheme then people go right over to the C8. The C8 is simply killing it.

I just bought a C5 that has smokey tail light lenses, Can you swap the lights without swapping the lenses?
Not that I’ve seen. They are usually all one unit.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Bummer, my C5 is a metalflake orange and the smokey lenses look awesome with it but that also means they have an impact on the brightness of the lights. Safety wise it would certainly be an improvement but then the cosmetic compromise,,, ughh decisions decisions....Thanks for the reply too Ive only had my C5 for a month now and of course I went to learning about them on TH-cam university and your channel was one of the first I subscribed to! I wish I had found it before you did the C5 giveaway though LOL
Traded mine in for a Mercedes and realized the quality is far superior then GM.
What Mercedes? I've yet to drive one yet that I would say is better than current day GM. A new Mercedes better than a C5, maybe, but new for new, that's a tough one. The C8 is built quite well and other than 200k+ Mercedes, I would have to disagree.
@@HorsePowerObsessed 2015 ML63 AMG. 550 hp. After 7 Corvettes the last one was the last. O and from a service point of view; the local dealership treats you like royalty with a Mercedes loaner waiting for my appointment. The Chevy dealership attitude was like they were doing you a favor. Only complaint is mileage sucks but my company provides gas card so I don't pay anyway.

Nope. You're all good with just the tail lights!

Yes it came with halos but you can option it to not come with them.
Stock looks MUCH better.

Personally, I do not like these tail lights!
i'll pass, not a fan of the halo look and my C5 does NOT NEED them
