I think because it doesn't have much of a muffler. I have a single cylinder Yamaha generator that is whisper quiet and the carb does not clog even with ethanol gas left in. This outboard is about as loud as a push mower at full throttle. The biggest problem with it is the carb has such tiny holes that if gas with ethanol isn't drained diligently from the carb it gets clogged and it won't run good unless the choke is partially on.
@@DAS-Videos geez lawn mowers are loud. I'm tossing between this and a Minn kotas I want the power and convenience of gas but the quiet of electric. I'm stumped.
@@5.7hemi79 I already bought 40lb Minn Kota enduramax from a surplus store along with a deep cycle batt that won't hold a charge over 12.7. haven't tested the motor yet.
It is a bit noisy at high throttle but I never considered it to be that bad. I don't know how the noise level compares to that of the Suzuki. Suzuki makes quality motors too.

Yea it is. And I think the weight of the electric motor plus marine battery is heavier than the gas motor.
