    Love you mam ❤ from India
    As a dalit girl from India
    I can say about marriage
    They don't marry other caste people they marry in their own caste . They don't marry in lower caste , if someone that they kill lower caste
    About discrimination and caste system
    She's brahmin upper caste
    She will deny it as mostly upper caste Hindu hide caste system from foreigners
    Caste exist all over india
    We dalit have dark skin then her generally some caste of dalits have light brown skin but for my caste we are not like her skin shes really fair skin All upper caste have light skin just like her shes top high caste of all she is brahmin .
    Those gujratis are mostly middle caste not higher or lower they can be touched or people eat their food .
    For us dalit its hard to make upper caste people friends
    Their ancestors are rich and
    Our ancestors were slaves and
    Labours to them , our people work for them even today .
    Manual scavenging is still done by our people not by them . Its really hard life for people like us .
    Thankyou ma'am again you are brave and said excellently
    You confronted priya nicely
    Not all Indians will tell you this as mostly will hide it only us who deal with racism and hate will tell you

      Just search for the siddis or the Dravidians. The untouchables. India has pushed them into extinction. No education, no jobs, no development in the regions they live. No hope. Africans should know how to treat Indians just as they treat our people in India. 💯 Racism

      The day I get activated I hope to uproot all of them from doing business or even stepping foot in Kenya and influence other Africans to idi Amin them out.

    If employer-employee practises are wrong then it definitely need repairs. Part of it got to do with your govt as well to put proper labour reforms in place. But community living is a norm across the world to practise their respective religions, stay and feel relatively secured against the majority of the region. Fact of the matter is, if it had been indentured labour colony none would had cared to even give them a look, but since Indian community in kenya and africa in general is mostly a business community unlike the caribbeans they are normally attacked, done covert operations on.

    I grew up in the UK. I don't remember Indians building a housing estate exclusively for themselves.
    There are estates (usually the poorer ones) which are Indian (South Asian) but that was because when Indians started to move in the indigenous Britons moved out to predominantly White estates.

    Interesting conversation. I like how all of you were open-minded when interviewing the muhindi guy. However, as an interviewer, it is good not to ask questions without showing bias but just in a prudent way. Avoid using phrases like "you people" when pointing at a person like you are scorning them. Good that he took it lightly. If it was the other way round it could have been taken badly by fellow black Kenyans!

  • @jimcat8975
    @jimcat8975 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Not 100% sure but from my understanding regarding the samaj estate is that those properties are built specifically by that caste/tribe and a lot of times they are built as subsidized houses only for community members who belong to the same community. Basically members donate to the temple and the community and over time those funds are used to build estates to give these same members affordable housing. Hence why it is reserved specifically for them. Not only Africans but even Indians from a different community are usually not allowed to live there.

    Comments on this vlog:
    Hi Susan. Good to see you again. First, Indians always say food isn't spicy when it is. Don't hold them hostage to this. I believe it's bc they are accustomed to spices that their bodies are immune to it. So they aren't aware that a little spice can be alot for someone who are not vase to it. I think you can agree on your experience in Ghana. 😉 I personally don't eat spicy foods. I have to say that indian man nailed it when he said Europeans have made you forget your culture. It's a big fact I take a personal issue with this. I feel they also did this with my ppl as well. However, my people should know better. They should see how the generations have been influenced in a bad way and slowly losing their identities in dressing, talking, and even somewhat avoiding their ethnic value. Africans/Indians need to preserve their culture so it continues in the right direction.

      Because it was legal in the 50s to say no bl@cks. They made it illegal but landlords looked for a way around it, they use a credit system where they won’t allow you to rent the newest apartment in the best neighborhoods. It is complicated because of things like whyte privilege and generational wealth. It is hard to pay 3000$ for rent so any place where it is below 1500$ a month is mixed and black neighborhoods

    • @sam254rideandwalkwithme
      @sam254rideandwalkwithme ปีที่แล้ว

      To get most of decent apartments you are required to make 4 times the rent. If it is 2000 you have to make 8000$ a month. Just a way of saying you are not middle class we don’t want you here.

    @The Traveling Miss: Assume I am a recent immigrant from India. Suppose I buy a plot of land and build a house on that land in Kenya with my own money. Assume myself and my family are living there. Are you telling me:
    1. Anyone who is a Kenyan can walk into my house without my permission just because Kenya according to him is his only motherland?
    2. Can any Kenyan dictate to me whom I should invite into my home or not just because Kenya according to him is his only motherland?
    3. Can any Kenyan dictate to me to whom I should sell my house to if I chose to sell my house just because Kenya according to him is his only motherland?

    Indians are humans just like us. Whilst culture may be very central to their livelihood it defines how they even relate to other cultures abroad. The caste system, (I may not have good knowledge about it) but it is a system used to segregate certain communities some are seen as superior to others. The communities at the bottom-they are considered to be the untouchables- cannot climb the society ladder hence regarded as a people who can ONLY do menial jobs. It has been like that for centuries in India despite modernization. Now this culture hangover, is brought here in Kenya and makes them treat their employees exactly the same as the "bottom feeders ".
    PS. The untouchables are known as the dalit* community. There are tones of documentaries about them.

    Ive been reading the replies to the comments and your responses are not really good especially to me. You create the impression that indians don't want to mingle with Africans yet they have been here for decades. Indians have provided employment to many Kenyans. Those apartments are only rented by a particular group of indians but everywhere else indians live among Africas. Have you been to other towns in Kenya and see how they live or even Ngara and parklands. Stop generalizing. The Kenyan Indians are even 6th generation. They have no where else to call home. Majority have never been to India. Stop saying that they have a second home. They have a right to be in Kenya like every one else.
