Congratulations! I love the product in every single aspect. It's perfect and Polestar can be proud of it. Problem is, Polster wants to position itself as the Porsche :) so, BMW, MERC etc. costing more, doesn't speak much of Polestar. I personally think this is somehow average car. Nothing too fancy, nothing breath-taking ...

Can get me up to board and hike in the mountains in CO with plenty of battery to spare. 300 is more than enough. My complaint- the performance software upgrade was promised but never delivered.
I want Polestar to make accessible electric cars that don't compromise on security. When Volvo was bought by Chinese I thought they would make cars a lot cheaper but I was wrong. The market is full of luxury cars. Everybody can make quality cars that cost a lot of money. But making good quality for affordable very few who can.

@@dylconnaway9976 Fair enough. However, I would say that car companies are not usually technology companies and building a truly integrated system is pretty monumental. I think the best part is that when you drive it, it actually feels like you are connected to the road and the car becomes a part of you.
@Steve Cassingham The performance software upgrade has been released in all markets aside from North America for almost a year now. It was promised here in the spring, but that didn't happen and no official word. Plus the pixel headlights have yet to be activated, which was also promised. Just take the features they’re claiming will be on the Polestar 3 with a grain of salt. A few may be empty promises.

Crazy that the Model X has a "range" of 350 miles on a smaller battery (100kWh vs 111kWh) while the Polestar 3 is 300 miles - wondering if real world usage makes both cars more identical than these less than accurage EPA ranges.
Sorry but, I really did not like this. 90K(6.6k add-on) for a SUV, I prefer to drive a gasoline or diesel car. Since they are cheaper, I do not mind Co2, it's a USP but not for me. If the cars get discounted, than you might see people buying electric cars, idk about polestar.

I’ve owned a Tesla model X, and currently drive a Mustang Mach-e…. This launch has convinced me…. In 2024 my next car will be the Polestar 3. Well done team…. So much thought in the detail… but as an audiophile you had me with the hifi 😅.

Ok so how many competitive advantages did you hear from polestar? Neither technology wise nor business model wise there is anything special… the cars do not look bad but thats about it unfortunately. Nio has the best technology in every matter and an unbeatable competitive advantage with battery swapping as noone without a garage and a charger can seriously consider an electric car yet - i agree that the italian and the german speaker could have been more enthusiastic though but the content was unbeatable
@@lukbo9590 battery swapping will only scale with scooters. It's a niche market when you are a car OEM. Storing batteries isn't that easy plus modern EVs can easily charge from 10-80% in 30 mins. Battery development for cars overtook NIO's idea

Most people aren't buying BEVs for long-distance road trips. In fact, the more expensive the car, the more likely they are to be driving within a full charge of home, because wealthy people tend to fly places outside the range of a BEV, not drive there. Buying BEVs for long-distance road trips is still a thing of the distant future (meaning probably a decade), routinely; most people who do so now are adventurers and really gung-ho BEVers who aren't bringing families along with them. If staying within 100-150 miles of home, BEVs are far superior to ICEVs (provided that you can charge at home).
Nice presentation, but oh man, this is an expensive almost ugly car. The excitement was high when they released Polestar1, with the promise to do more affordable production cars. But this... The back of the car is acceptable, but the front has so many different shapes. that make it look so cheap. I can't even imagine paying so much for this. Mercedes EQC starts at 66.000 Euros, that is almost 15k cheaper and miles ahead in design.
I totally agree with you. the preamble before the launch was 600+ horsepower and 600+ km range. today learning the range is between 434-483 km is HUGELY disappointing we were going to purchase two to replace our two Polestar 2 as we wanted more range but nope looking at another brand
Look, for a base model selling @ an MSRP of $83K (does anyone think they are going to actually get a base model through a dealership for that low??? Nope.) that might do 300 miles is really underwhelming. I mean it's almost 2023...they are going to have a difficult time selling enough units to recoup manufacturing costs across the board...also not impressed with the old style Telsa style center console monitor...that design has been around for years...it's old and outdated
It is, to me, extremely understated that they cut battery production emissions by 43%, as this is perhaps the biggest hurdle in making sure EVs are climate change friendly. Putting in a big battery pack in EVs can give them as much life cycle emissions as ICE vehicles. Maybe they have talked more about this in earlier presentations.
Mr Thomas is a man of exquisite taste. He designed a product of the highest standards in technology on fields that matter, made all the correct decisions on partners while at the same time animating a vision. The future is bright for them.
And how is your power consumption, power management and range which was subpar in you Polestar 2 model in comparsion with Tesla model 3? Also weight was over 200 kg higher then TM3. 🤷♂️🤔
Guy looked at Volvo and decided to change a few lines. 90k price ...and a few claps 👏🏼👏🏼 explain how the market is not ready for cars in this price range. Whoever is going to make the electric car cheaper to buy will be the winner in this market.
As a Polestar 2 owner I had much higher hopes for this. They swung and missed BIG time. 4.6 second 0-60 is not enough. Especially for 90-100k. This should have been priced, well equipped, under $80k to get the $7500 tax credit. Whoever messed that up should be gone. That is FREE money they missed. This is not enough sport for the money. The tree huggers out there don't care enough about the experience. They want value. Polestar isn't a value play, it's upscale eco. There isn't a market for that. It needed to be faster and less expensive. My Mach E GT blows it away for less money. Albeit, not as luxurious but much sportier and faster AND qualifies for the $7500. This is NOT a Model X competitor with seating for 4. They better get a well equipped version for the US market under $80k and QUICK. Make the Plus and Pilot packs software upgradeable AFTER the fact. Deliveries in Q4 2023? Wall St is going to hammer Polestar for this. Heads will roll.
My thoughts exactly. The exterior is stunningly good. The rest is "meh". Yeah, the US price is a puzzle, though a lower-trim version might be under $80k (he was ambiguous about that, but he indicated that they are starting with higher-priced vehicles up front). I'm not quite as down on it as the second half of your comments, but I think they're confused about who to aim this at: they are aiming it at Cayenne, quite vocally, and yet their diving into autonomous driving crap and putting too much into touch screens really takes away from it being a driver's performance car and instead following Tesla's lead too much of a computer on wheels, rather than a car with computer stuff in it (the main difference between a Tesla and a Taycan). I say stop with the move toward autonomous driving; we're decades away from that being remotely safe, and I think it'll only be seriously usable in inner-city areas where ALL cars are autonomous in restricted zones (i.e., you can't mix autonomous cars with non-autonomous cars -- will never work).
This car is selling so poorly in China that it has become a joke. Nobody is buying this over priced garbage in a market where there are many EV competitors.
86K US dollars for NO sunroof shade, no virtual cockpit, no ventilating seats, no headup display, no apple carplay etc. This EV has the same distance as less expensive electric vehicles in the market. Audi or BMW EV have ALOT more for 20% less of the cost. Polestar is miles behind, cool car but not for the price. I don't see the value. Now Lucid, Audi, BMW, and Porsche show the safety, value and investment you are getting. Not sold but good luck!
Wish they would have just showed the car sooner with closeups of interior and walk around so the marketing is bit cringe for me. I’m going to hold off on my opinion of how the car looks until I see in person but extra range and nice audio seem cool. 100k though, a lot of nice cars in that price range. I really like my polestar 2 so Im sure it is nice.
Love the Bowers & Wilkins in my 2018 S90 Inscription! Especially since I got the car off-lease a year ago for half off its new price! Love its Thor headlights. My first Volvo and a reminder of the 240 that my parents had in the mid-80's. (Although I already had another Scandinavian car, a Saab 95 wagon ten years ago. Loved that too.) Crazy that the Model X has a "range" of 350 miles on a smaller battery (100kWh vs 111kWh) while the Polestar 3 is 300 miles - wondering if real world usage makes both cars more identical than these less than accurage EPA ranges.

nope, real-world range of Model X is 250-270 miles... If this Polestar 3 gets 300 real-world miles, it'll be on a par with Tesla range (miles/kWh)...

Sorry but, I really did not like this. 90K(6.6k add-on) for a SUV, I prefer to drive a gasoline or diesel car. Since they are cheaper, I do not mind Co2, it's a USP but not for me.
If the cars get discounted, than you might see people buying electric cars, idk about polestar.

I’ve owned a Tesla model X, and currently drive a Mustang Mach-e…. This launch has convinced me…. In 2024 my next car will be the Polestar 3. Well done team…. So much thought in the detail… but as an audiophile you had me with the hifi 😅.

We expect wireless Apple CarPlay to be released in time with the first handover towards the end of 2023 🙌

A car just needs to be a car. not a gadget like this... it wont be long this tech will be used against you. in fact Tesla and some other manufacturers do.

At this price are other really good competitors… look at Rivian, MB, BMW… I think is just out of control. The hype for electric cars will come down just like ICE cars did once.. similar to VHS, DVD, and so many more hyped articles… it is too expensive.

Ok so how many competitive advantages did you hear from polestar? Neither technology wise nor business model wise there is anything special… the cars do not look bad but thats about it unfortunately. Nio has the best technology in every matter and an unbeatable competitive advantage with battery swapping as noone without a garage and a charger can seriously consider an electric car yet - i agree that the italian and the german speaker could have been more enthusiastic though but the content was unbeatable
@@lukbo9590 battery swapping will only scale with scooters. It's a niche market when you are a car OEM. Storing batteries isn't that easy plus modern EVs can easily charge from 10-80% in 30 mins. Battery development for cars overtook NIO's idea

Most people aren't buying BEVs for long-distance road trips. In fact, the more expensive the car, the more likely they are to be driving within a full charge of home, because wealthy people tend to fly places outside the range of a BEV, not drive there. Buying BEVs for long-distance road trips is still a thing of the distant future (meaning probably a decade), routinely; most people who do so now are adventurers and really gung-ho BEVers who aren't bringing families along with them. If staying within 100-150 miles of home, BEVs are far superior to ICEVs (provided that you can charge at home).
Yet another 100K crossover. That is so totally original and never seen before that it must absolutely explode the market! Oh, wait..

Nice presentation, but oh man, this is an expensive almost ugly car. The excitement was high when they released Polestar1, with the promise to do more affordable production cars. But this... The back of the car is acceptable, but the front has so many different shapes. that make it look so cheap. I can't even imagine paying so much for this. Mercedes EQC starts at 66.000 Euros, that is almost 15k cheaper and miles ahead in design.
Absolutly stoked for the Polestar 3 but I'm hoping that they chose a lower range figure for the EPA to use cause 300 miles is quite dissapointing

today learning the range is between 434-483 km is HUGELY disappointing

Look, for a base model selling @ an MSRP of $83K (does anyone think they are going to actually get a base model through a dealership for that low??? Nope.) that might do 300 miles is really underwhelming. I mean it's almost 2023...they are going to have a difficult time selling enough units to recoup manufacturing costs across the board...also not impressed with the old style Telsa style center console monitor...that design has been around for years...it's old and outdated
It is, to me, extremely understated that they cut battery production emissions by 43%, as this is perhaps the biggest hurdle in making sure EVs are climate change friendly. Putting in a big battery pack in EVs can give them as much life cycle emissions as ICE vehicles. Maybe they have talked more about this in earlier presentations.

Mr Thomas is a man of exquisite taste. He designed a product of the highest standards in technology on fields that matter, made all the correct decisions on partners while at the same time animating a vision. The future is bright for them.
And how is your power consumption, power management and range which was subpar in you Polestar 2 model in comparsion with Tesla model 3? Also weight was over 200 kg higher then TM3. 🤷♂️🤔
Guy looked at Volvo and decided to change a few lines. 90k price ...and a few claps 👏🏼👏🏼 explain how the market is not ready for cars in this price range. Whoever is going to make the electric car cheaper to buy will be the winner in this market.
As a Polestar 2 owner I had much higher hopes for this. They swung and missed BIG time. 4.6 second 0-60 is not enough. Especially for 90-100k. This should have been priced, well equipped, under $80k to get the $7500 tax credit. Whoever messed that up should be gone. That is FREE money they missed. This is not enough sport for the money. The tree huggers out there don't care enough about the experience. They want value. Polestar isn't a value play, it's upscale eco. There isn't a market for that. It needed to be faster and less expensive. My Mach E GT blows it away for less money. Albeit, not as luxurious but much sportier and faster AND qualifies for the $7500. This is NOT a Model X competitor with seating for 4. They better get a well equipped version for the US market under $80k and QUICK. Make the Plus and Pilot packs software upgradeable AFTER the fact. Deliveries in Q4 2023? Wall St is going to hammer Polestar for this. Heads will roll.

My thoughts exactly. The exterior is stunningly good. The rest is "meh". Yeah, the US price is a puzzle, though a lower-trim version might be under $80k (he was ambiguous about that, but he indicated that they are starting with higher-priced vehicles up front). I'm not quite as down on it as the second half of your comments, but I think they're confused about who to aim this at: they are aiming it at Cayenne, quite vocally, and yet their diving into autonomous driving crap and putting too much into touch screens really takes away from it being a driver's performance car and instead following Tesla's lead too much of a computer on wheels, rather than a car with computer stuff in it (the main difference between a Tesla and a Taycan). I say stop with the move toward autonomous driving; we're decades away from that being remotely safe, and I think it'll only be seriously usable in inner-city areas where ALL cars are autonomous in restricted zones (i.e., you can't mix autonomous cars with non-autonomous cars -- will never work).
This car is selling so poorly in China that it has become a joke. Nobody is buying this over priced garbage in a market where there are many EV competitors.

86K US dollars for NO sunroof shade, no virtual cockpit, no ventilating seats, no headup display, no apple carplay etc. This EV has the same distance as less expensive electric vehicles in the market. Audi or BMW EV have ALOT more for 20% less of the cost. Polestar is miles behind, cool car but not for the price. I don't see the value. Now Lucid, Audi, BMW, and Porsche show the safety, value and investment you are getting. Not sold but good luck!
Wish they would have just showed the car sooner with closeups of interior and walk around so the marketing is bit cringe for me. I’m going to hold off on my opinion of how the car looks until I see in person but extra range and nice audio seem cool. 100k though, a lot of nice cars in that price range. I really like my polestar 2 so Im sure it is nice.
