Hassou Tobi for extra turn guranteed. Gungnir for Piercing Damage. Astral Saintstrike for Mobbing (low MP Cost, hits all enemies randomly) Akashic Arts or Mac an Luin if you're using 100% crit buff.
Yoshitsune is seriously carrying most of the game for my playthrough. Getting him early meant I could just dump all my strength incenses and battle sutras on him and by level 70 he had over 90 strength and 100 agility. I just recruited Fionn but he has a lot of catching up to do.
You may need to refuse Yoshi on end game after unlocking all the prayer miracles for bonus stats. My Yoshi has 130 strength and 120 agility at level 99, no incenses used yet. Now he has 170+ strength after dumping all my strength incense on him.
Although Fionn is my favorite of them, the fact that Mac an Luin doesn't pierce is what hold him back ever so slightly. If it innately pierced and he had support potential, he'd easily be the best (at least for me personally).
I remember the 1st time facing Fionn. I used Tarunda the 1st turn cuz by that time it felt like why not on bosses. Fionn uses Mac an Luin on Nahobino and he survived with 5 hp. That was truly a wtf moment for me for this game. And this was in normal difficulty. I was even overleveled for that area lol.
Yikes. He hurts that much even on normal! I guess he's used as this games wakeup boss. I had shiki-ouji essence as my affinities cus I'm trying to make a resist all nahobino (belphegors essence is insanely good for this it turns out) and nerfed his stats to zero and buffed mine thanks to loas magatsuhi skill and chironnups warding shout and he hit for 70ish - 90ish dmg iirc? And like you I was over lvled too.
Interestingly, Matador's Andalucia does more damage than one might think. Even more than Astral Saintstrike! Because of the game's awkward Multi-hit (against random foes) mechanic his true potential is held back considerably. When you combine his signature skill, Andalucia, with Magatsuhi Skill, Omagatoki Dance, Matador's Power truly shines. This also applies for Red Rider. Terrorblade is also truly devastating skill.

It really is. High Phys and Phys Plery. Crit Zel With Hassou tobi is nice, and you can not impalers animus if you just need turns and no null weirdos are out.
I wish more games did what Bravely Default and Second did and told you exactly what abilities do. For example, "Deal double the damage of a conventional attack to one target, but there is a 50% chance that the attack will miss." is far better than "Perform a physical attack on a target that deals heavy damage, but has a slightly reduced chance of landing.", the latter of which is from Bravely Default II on Switch.
All of them are very situational imo. Odin is great for a stable damage against any kind of opponent. Yoshitsune is great to extend turns while doing damage, since it always crits. Fionn is great for critical damage. (When you activate the magatsuhi crit. skill) The real OP strat is to have Myriad Slashes + Support Demon using Luster Candy/Evasion+Accuracy, and if possible to throw Impaler's Animus in the mix.
who is the best magic-user!!!! How many thumbs up until we see it? The best tank for threat attention is probably something not a lotta people pay attention to but fierce roar is a hell of a skill
Tanks are something you build into. Not to much based on the demon's stats. Any demon with good resists [Which you can further bolster with skills] can be a good tank. Plus; it also depends what you want your tank to be doing when they're not taunting. You could have them buff/debuff. You could have them heal. You could have them attack.
Gogmagog is really good with Figment slash if you have someone like Slime in your party. His innate trait increases damage by how many weaknesses your party has. So if you have slime essence affinities on Nahobino, and slime in your party, the damage increases. Sukukaja, dragons eye, and beast eye to counter low accuracy on figment slash fixes the problem with missing as well. Both Phys pleromas also increase damage by a lot. So with all of that setup, impalers animus, and then Donum gladi with double luster candy, you'll likely deal massive damage to whatever enemy you're up against.
Something to mind about dracostrike. While is true they are elemental skills, their ST-based aspect make them possible to crit. This can be rather difficult to get though, But it is possible, it also works for the almighty ST-based skills as well.
I was severely overleveled for the end-game due to grinding for and fighting Shiva first. Yoshitsune, though, was a staple in my party with both Phys Pleroma, Crit Zealot, Hassou Tobi, Yabusame Shot, Impaler's, Null Dark, and Enduring Soul.
Hassou Tobi made my hard run finally enjoyable. Mag build Naho was stressful as heck. I keep changing pleromas and had to throw out severe magics, only to end up wanting them back. Hasou Tobi cleared everything from side quest to empyrean bosses😂 Had to dump a lot of grimoires for Yoshitsune though
Nice data, but you failed to account for a few things: 1. Critical Zealot - This skill boosts your crit damage from 150% to 200%, and is an auto-include for any of the skill that always crit like Hassou Tobi and Figment Slash, raising their actual damage to 480 and 600 respectively. This means that figment slash does the same damage as Myraid Slash, but also gets you extra turns because of crit, making it easily the best single target physical move for raw damage. 2. Average DPS/Crit Rate - By adding skills like Critical Zealot for Figment Slash and other skills like Murderous Glee for Akashic Arts, it changes the math on these move notably. If you have the data mine info for crit rates, you can calculate the average damage a move does when combined with it's optimal build of supporting skills. 3. Additional Bonus' - Aka things like crits getting you extra turns or a move having pierce or being combined with things like charge/etc. Overall I would have to say that a full figment slash build is the best physical damage dealer in the game. I have a maxed out Loup-Garou I turned into a figment slash machine (Figment Slash, Impalers Animus, Phys Pleroma, High Phys Pleroma, Critical Zealot, Dragon Eye, about 130 Str and 140 Agi). He was doing 5k-6k damage per hit on Demifiend on normal difficulty. Hassou Tobi would then be the 2nd best, doing 480 instead of 600 but hitting aoe if needed, always critting for more turns and not needing accuracy boosts to fix it's drawback. When fully built these two skills are overall the most useful and most consistently top tier phys skills.
Yeah, this was more just showing the actual power of each move. But I should add, Critical Zealot isn't exclusively for always crit moves. If you have Critical Aura, then Zealot can be used on any Demon without the downsides. For example, Odin could run Gungnir, Critical Aura + Zealot, and never lose damage because he's always critting. How often you cast the Magatsuhi critical skill matters too. If you're using Critical Aura and Magatsuhi Critical often enough, Myriad Slashes will outdo Figment Slash, over the course of multiple turns
@@bainz Critical Aura is terrible, easily the worst of the charge moves, and it's not worth using in a build. Figment slash every turn will easily outdo Critical Aura + Other move hitting every other turn, effectively cutting it's DPS in half. Spending Meter for crit is nice but there are many other options so I wouldn't rely on it for a single demon's build. Impaler's Animus is the move to go for because it boosts and pierces, but even then you only need that if they have phys resist. Charge/concentrate were nerfed in SMT5 from the previous games so they're mostly just for MP saving now.
@@chairmanhiro7401 I’m rather new to this as SMTV is my first. I’ve put 110hrs in on hard and am only lvl 40. I’m obsessed w/fusing and creating perfect move sets. Anyways I thought that the critical aura + zealot was one of the best ways to damage physically. I roamed through message boards as I approach my own Yoshi (just got Artemis) and the sentiment is that this combo replaces the nerfed charge meta. I’m interested in this discussion as for now it’s quite powerful on certain demons and setups even without zealot. I believe the idea is that zealot causes a 10% reduction to norm but 33% (I guess) to crit so on multi hit or 100% certain it does wonders. Aura helps with the 100% accuracy/crit part so zealot can shine.
@@lordrikudouzero9119 Zealot makes crits go from 150% damage to 200% damage, so yeah it's an auto-include with moves that always crit. The problem with charge moves is that the damage is now less than 2x the normal amount, which means you can do more damage just by doing the move twice. Charge/concentrate really only save MP at this point. Donum Magici/Gladi are still decent because a support demon can have them. Critical Aura is bad because it doesn't boost the damage of the move at all besides making it crit. So a move that did 100 damage will now do 200 (with zealot) and give you a free press turn, but it took 2 turns to do that. You spent 2 actions, got 1 action back and did 200 damage total. If you just did figment slash/Hassou every turn, you would spend 2 actions, get 2 actions back and do 400 damage total (200 each turn). Impalers Animus is only needed if the enemy resists phys. So if you want the best physical damage CONSISTENTLY and do the most TOTAL damage, you go with Figment/Hassou with zealot and have a support demon use Donum Gladi. Also don't bother making "perfect" demons until you unlock all 8 skill slots and all essence skills, it's literally not worth it until that point. After that go nuts. Make sure you level up the fusion fodder enough before fusing too. The stat bonus to fusing seems to cap at around 30 points. You also unlock miracles that give extra stats to demons when they level up, those are super important too. Your quest for truly "perfect" demons doesn't start until you enter the 4th major area (the snow area).

No, since she dont have physical, u cant add + to her skills, so there is no phs dmg for her. Only Demons wich already have atleast +1 to phs skill, have potencial.

Just sacrifice one turn in setting up crit aura. And then you can crit every cycle and gain one free turn for setting up the crit aura. This is big for crit zealot + bonus crit dmg moves like murakumo and mac an luin\akashicarts. Only downside for the latter is when the enemy resists phys. Impaler can be used in this case but only when setting up a crit magatsuhi run. From what I heard it's better to use magatsuhi savage, so you can do a pre crit aura murakumo+non crit murakump with that savage up for the most damage. (x6) I see other users recomending myriad and figment with dragon eye but that's a high risk high reward playstyle up to the player and figment like this can outclass everything. Myriad instead can be run with crit aura like the first examples and do more damage on conventional turns than them, so crti aura myriad > crit aura AA; but myriad will fall short on crit magatsuhi turns. Even on savage magatsuhi turns with pre crit aura, myriad does slighly less.(x4)(x8 if you want to gamble) And you can't use impaler on it safely like AA.
For Nahobino I like Murakumo, almighty, crit aura setup, compatible with magatsuhi skills specially savage . For demons it's all situational, it's balanced. AA for high damage both normal turns and magatsuhi turns. Compatible with Impaler for resist bosses. Figment for a high risk reward setup. Most damage. Myriad for highest safe damage with crit aura. Strongest normal turns, weaker magatsuhi turns. Not the choice for phys resistant enemies. Gungnir, safest option against phys resistant enemies, crit aura setup but weaker than AA overall. Hasou Tobi is amazing. One of the highest damage
I could be wrong but since dream fist has a base 450 damage on sleeping targets, that'll make it stronger then myriad slashes when hitting crits or not. Issue with it is its situational luckily alinments in this game good.
So technically Hassou Tobi + Critical Zealot vs 1 enemy every turn does the most damage (240x2=480 every action), with omagatoki critical it's akashic arts (350x2 twice) and with critical aura + zealot it's myriad slashes (guaranteed accuracy for 400x2)
How does Zeus' Keruanos lump here? It's strength based elec that pierces so from description alone it's identical to gungnir. I've seen it crit so since it actually has demons that are weak to elec since Inana is the only thing I saw with a phys weakness, wouldn't that make Zeus a straight upgrade over Odin in most situations? Is there any special property gungnir has on Keruanos like a higher base damage or crit, or is Keruanos just better since piece beats everything in this game?
Yea, you’re right, I probably should have included Zeus in here. He has the same move as Gungnir (300 base power) but it’s Elec so he can hit weaknesses
Switched all my Physical Demon’s to Figment Slash Builds due to Shiva/Demi-Fiend. I really like that it’s always Severe Critical. I guess Myriad Strikes is the best but it’s not always Critical though and do the Strikes hit randomly or just one target? Figment Slash my go-to.
Critical Aura + Myriad Slashes or Murakumo is so powerful it's ridiculous. No need to invest in anything but STR, Critical Aura guarantees hit and crit so no need for Agility and Luck. Incredibly consistent and spammable if you just slap a High Restore on top of it. Then if you feel this isn't enough, with Murakumo use a Charge Gem and then Omagatoki: Critical. As soon as STR MC reaches Taito, every demon becomes support lel
so true i casually hit 6-7k per crit with murakumo on bosses with crit aura, honestly crit aura with crit zealot and with almighty, and high almighty pleroma, on a full strength build is just easy game, casualy clearing new game plus now

FIre: Amon Ice: Gabriel or Cleo (she is better as support because of frolic so just use Gabby) Elec: Zeus for single-target physical elec, Baal for magic Wind: Just put mazanbarion on a lvl 99 Idun if you have an open slot Dark: Beelzebub Light: Not a useful affinity for any boss Almighty: Metatron fire of sinai Support: Cleo for frolic, idun for golden apple. Use beelzebub and shiva's essence to pass on boon boost ex Tip: Use your sutras to max affinities, it helps alot with MP cost.
Does anyone know what the best non demon exclusive physical skill that hits all foes trying to build Artemis and yoshitsune and already got the myriad slashes down just need to figure out what phys skill deals the most damage to all foes

Where does hasou tobi stand with critical sealot? I feel like being a skill that will be working with hasou tobi 100% of the time, it should be taken into consideration
I mentioned that in the video a bit in the last section. Being able to use Critical Zealot all the time is another reason Yoshi is so good. I think he only falls off against the Superbosses
Again, depends on what you're facing. If there's a bunch of foes, HT damage becomes scattered. And if you're making use of the Magatsuhi Critical skill a lot, the high crit damage moves like Fionn's can be good
This damage is not guaranteed tho cuz the enemy youre against is like 20 levels lower than you. I somehow went for nihil claw 2-3 heavy hits + critical aura , and just used the tyrant magatsuhi to double the damage.

Getting certain miracles my new level 50 iduns stats triumphs my old lvl 69 one by plus 20-30 higher in each stat

Kinda funny that Mac an Luin is just a slightly weaker version of Akashic Arts damage-wise, though it does have better accuracy.

They nerfed him rather hard but still can't keep him down.

I've seen somebody hit 99,999 against Demi-Fiend on safety mode. Since that's a kind specific number, I assume that's the cap.

Hassou Tobi would then be the 2nd best, doing 480 instead of 600 but hitting aoe if needed, always critting for more turns and not needing accuracy boosts to fix it's drawback. When fully built these two skills are overall the most useful and most consistently top tier phys skills.
Yeah, this was more just showing the actual power of each move. But I should add, Critical Zealot isn't exclusively for always crit moves. If you have Critical Aura, then Zealot can be used on any Demon without the downsides. For example, Odin could run Gungnir, Critical Aura + Zealot, and never lose damage because he's always critting. How often you cast the Magatsuhi critical skill matters too. If you're using Critical Aura and Magatsuhi Critical often enough, Myriad Slashes will outdo Figment Slash, over the course of multiple turns
@@bainz Critical Aura is terrible, easily the worst of the charge moves, and it's not worth using in a build. Figment slash every turn will easily outdo Critical Aura + Other move hitting every other turn, effectively cutting it's DPS in half. Spending Meter for crit is nice but there are many other options so I wouldn't rely on it for a single demon's build. Impaler's Animus is the move to go for because it boosts and pierces, but even then you only need that if they have phys resist. Charge/concentrate were nerfed in SMT5 from the previous games so they're mostly just for MP saving now.

Anyways I thought that the critical aura + zealot was one of the best ways to damage physically. I roamed through message boards as I approach my own Yoshi (just got Artemis) and the sentiment is that this combo replaces the nerfed charge meta. I’m interested in this discussion as for now it’s quite powerful on certain demons and setups even without zealot. I believe the idea is that zealot causes a 10% reduction to norm but 33% (I guess) to crit so on multi hit or 100% certain it does wonders. Aura helps with the 100% accuracy/crit part so zealot can shine.
@@lordrikudouzero9119 Zealot makes crits go from 150% damage to 200% damage, so yeah it's an auto-include with moves that always crit. The problem with charge moves is that the damage is now less than 2x the normal amount, which means you can do more damage just by doing the move twice. Charge/concentrate really only save MP at this point.
Donum Magici/Gladi are still decent because a support demon can have them. Critical Aura is bad because it doesn't boost the damage of the move at all besides making it crit. So a move that did 100 damage will now do 200 (with zealot) and give you a free press turn, but it took 2 turns to do that. You spent 2 actions, got 1 action back and did 200 damage total. If you just did figment slash/Hassou every turn, you would spend 2 actions, get 2 actions back and do 400 damage total (200 each turn). Impalers Animus is only needed if the enemy resists phys. So if you want the best physical damage CONSISTENTLY and do the most TOTAL damage, you go with Figment/Hassou with zealot and have a support demon use Donum Gladi.
Also don't bother making "perfect" demons until you unlock all 8 skill slots and all essence skills, it's literally not worth it until that point. After that go nuts. Make sure you level up the fusion fodder enough before fusing too. The stat bonus to fusing seems to cap at around 30 points. You also unlock miracles that give extra stats to demons when they level up, those are super important too. Your quest for truly "perfect" demons doesn't start until you enter the 4th major area (the snow area).

Just sacrifice one turn in setting up crit aura. And then you can crit every cycle and gain one free turn for setting up the crit aura. This is big for crit zealot + bonus crit dmg moves like murakumo and mac an luin\akashicarts. Only downside for the latter is when the enemy resists phys. Impaler can be used in this case but only when setting up a crit magatsuhi run.
From what I heard it's better to use magatsuhi savage, so you can do a pre crit aura murakumo+non crit murakump with that savage up for the most damage. (x6)
I see other users recomending myriad and figment with dragon eye but that's a high risk high reward playstyle up to the player and figment like this can outclass everything. Myriad instead can be run with crit aura like the first examples and do more damage on conventional turns than them, so crti aura myriad > crit aura AA; but myriad will fall short on crit magatsuhi turns. Even on savage magatsuhi turns with pre crit aura, myriad does slighly less.(x4)(x8 if you want to gamble) And you can't use impaler on it safely like AA.
For Nahobino I like Murakumo, almighty, crit aura setup, compatible with magatsuhi skills specially savage

For demons it's all situational, it's balanced.
AA for high damage both normal turns and magatsuhi turns. Compatible with Impaler for resist bosses.
Figment for a high risk reward setup. Most damage.
Myriad for highest safe damage with crit aura. Strongest normal turns, weaker magatsuhi turns. Not the choice for phys resistant enemies.
Gungnir, safest option against phys resistant enemies, crit aura setup but weaker than AA overall.
Hasou Tobi is amazing. One of the highest damage

I could be wrong but since dream fist has a base 450 damage on sleeping targets, that'll make it stronger then myriad slashes when hitting crits or not. Issue with it is its situational luckily alinments in this game good.
That's true, some of the ailment-reliant moves are pretty good. They require extra turns of set up though, and aren't as consistent

So technically Hassou Tobi + Critical Zealot vs 1 enemy every turn does the most damage (240x2=480 every action), with omagatoki critical it's akashic arts (350x2 twice) and with critical aura + zealot it's myriad slashes (guaranteed accuracy for 400x2)
How does Zeus' Keruanos lump here? It's strength based elec that pierces so from description alone it's identical to gungnir. I've seen it crit so since it actually has demons that are weak to elec since Inana is the only thing I saw with a phys weakness, wouldn't that make Zeus a straight upgrade over Odin in most situations? Is there any special property gungnir has on Keruanos like a higher base damage or crit, or is Keruanos just better since piece beats everything in this game?
Yea, you’re right, I probably should have included Zeus in here. He has the same move as Gungnir (300 base power) but it’s Elec so he can hit weaknesses

Switched all my Physical Demon’s to Figment Slash Builds due to Shiva/Demi-Fiend.

Critical Aura + Myriad Slashes or Murakumo is so powerful it's ridiculous. No need to invest in anything but STR, Critical Aura guarantees hit and crit so no need for Agility and Luck. Incredibly consistent and spammable if you just slap a High Restore on top of it. Then if you feel this isn't enough, with Murakumo use a Charge Gem and then Omagatoki: Critical. As soon as STR MC reaches Taito, every demon becomes support lel
so true i casually hit 6-7k per crit with murakumo on bosses with crit aura, honestly crit aura with crit zealot and with almighty, and high almighty pleroma, on a full strength build is just easy game, casualy clearing new game plus now

Almighty: Metatron fire of sinai
Support: Cleo for frolic, idun for golden apple. Use beelzebub and shiva's essence to pass on boon boost ex
Tip: Use your sutras to max affinities, it helps alot with MP cost.

Dancing Strike isn’t as strong as the other moves (240 base power) but it does have 30% crit rate. Typical moves have like 5% crit

Again, depends on what you're facing. If there's a bunch of foes, HT damage becomes scattered. And if you're making use of the Magatsuhi Critical skill a lot, the high crit damage moves like Fionn's can be good

This damage is not guaranteed tho cuz the enemy youre against is like 20 levels lower than you. I somehow went for nihil claw 2-3 heavy hits + critical aura , and just used the tyrant magatsuhi to double the damage.
It's not about the individual damage numbers, it's meant for comparing the moves against each other using the same target

Regular Pleroma is 1.2x, High Pleroma is 1.4x. I believe they stack additively, for 1.6x damage
