Thank you so much, Stephanie, for your excellent review of S-Lon Fire Thread. While Fireline is getting to be very expensive, in my humble opinion, it remains the best material for beading the exquisite and intricate designs you create and share with us. You are an amazing Teacher and I so greatly appreciate you sharing your knowledge and talents with us!
I totally agree with you @observer. Every time I order more of it , I think wow, price has gone up. But I have tried others and they just don’t compare to fireline
Stephanie, thank you so much for reviewing this product. I could almost hear you holding your breath. I was doing the same thing! I had it on my wish list, but I removed it. Your pendant is stunning. I will be trying it, with Fireline!
You are not alone in your opinion about this product. I've watched or read at LEAST 10 different reviews on this thread; mostly professional beaders, and no one - NO ONE likes it. You would think that you can trust a name like BeadSmith -- but, they REALLY DROPPED THE BALL on this product!! As soon as I saw the S-Lon on your cover post, I thought "Ooooo she's not gonna be happy!" Can't wait to make this pendant for my Mom💖
Thank you, Stephanie! You have saved a lot of people from the expense and time of trying this “new” thread. Much appreciated! Beautiful pendant, as always! ❤
Six of them I did, one more beatiful than the other...I love so much your jewellery Stephanie, thank you for your generosity...by the way I used Fireline 6 lb...
Hi Stephanie, I love the pendant, it is gorgeous!❤ Thank you so much for testing the S-Lon Fire thread for us, your review was very helpful and it's saving me a lot of swearing, because I think you did, didn't you?😂🤣😂 I'm gonna put this beautiful pendant on my to do list, thank you so much!💐
I've been watching your jewelrymaking videos for many years and you are the BEST out there imo!❤️ Wanted to thank you for all the detail about supplies you include with every video. It is sometimes a challenge to find quality supplies and suppliers and your details always help me find what I'm looking for! Appreciate you!
Beautiful design, Stephanie, and I love your colors! I was not impressed with the S-Lon Fire at all. It was hard to thread a needle because it frayed so much and that was just the beginning, ha ha. Thank you! 🌻
Lovely design, and thank you for the review. I'm a Fireline kind of gal too--I'll have to try the type you recommended though, have never used that type. Again, lovely pendant!
Thank you! Appreciate the review. I don’t recall ever making a piece that I didn’t have to back out at least once - lol! So, think I’ll stick with Fireline, too. Beautiful pendant, those reddish colored pearls are gorgeous!
I love your designs Stephanie, they are gorgeous. I've used the black S-Lon, it frayed when threading a needle & the dye was all over my fingers. So for me I'll stick to Fireline that works every time in all my beading designs.
Very cool design! I recently ran across this thread looking into something else so great timing on the review. I haven't tried this but some people run the length of the smoke FireLine through a cloth or paper towel before using it to lessen the transfer.
Oh S-lon fire! Usually don't comment But I have a love hate story with S-lon! lol... when it comes to 2 and 3 bead twisted herringbone necklaces..(11.0 and 15.0) it's just what I needed!!! i remember it's feeling was so Iight weight I could hardly feel it in my fingers. I had to take my time and get the feel of it's movement. Things started moving faster and I fell in love with it. I used 150 yards last year's end. Holiday season. Good times. Happy Holidays everyone.
BTW As strong as a thread it is, I'd never use S-lon on heavy pieces. Herringbone and St Petersburg stitch using 11.0 and 15.0 seed beads, yes. Thank you Stephanie. Awesome topic. 🧡🍂🍁
It looks like SLON Fire might be great for stringing beads. I would consider using it for that and saving on other materials. Love this design. Thank you!
Gorgeous pendants. Simple in design, but presents so chic and elegant looking. Thanks for the review, too. PS--where do knots live--on my beading mat, lol, but they may have also moved to your neighborhood as well. They do seem to have a life of their own. PPS--you do a great job of explaining what needs to be done and your camerawork is really good so we can see what you are talking about. Thanks so much!
Another beautiful pendant, and if my arthritis wasn't flaring so bad, I'd jump to make this. But I strongly recommend trying the smoke fireline made for the fishermen. I've been using the "Thermally Fused Superline" for years - the one you rec'd at the end of your video. I never switched to the black satin (didn't want to pay the upcharge). There is no nasty color residue on my hands, hasn't been for years. During the last Amazon prime day, I sprung for a 1500 yard spool for about 20% off.
Can’t wait to make this beautiful pendant but it won’t be with SLon. I tried it some time ago and trashed the spool. Difficult to thread any size needle, knotted, frayed and twisted and I didn’t like the feel of it on my fingers, strange texture to it. Thank you for the lovely tutorial.
Hi Stephanie I enjoy and ❤ your channel, your teaching, treating the S-SLON FIRE thread with bees wax I don’t see much of that lately thanks for sharing keep health
S-Lon Fire 6lb, I do like this thread but only for certain projects re: certain styles of earrings, or a certain style beaded necklace chain, because I find this thread has a beautiful drape; I will use a wing span, but I stretch my S-Lon before using it to help with the knotting, and yes, knots appear out of nowhere, they are tiny, they are annoying, (they are etc) but I always seem to be able to get my needle in to the middle of the knot and using my sturdy pin I can actually pull the knot out, but as you found, the thread becomes a bit damaged as a result; I have had my S-Lon Fire bunch up also, and it is most annoying, but if I get that knot out then I can continue to use the thread. For a beautiful project as you are showing us, I would never ever use S-Lon Fire because it is not a stiff beading thread and I do not think the pendant would be stiff enough for my liking. I do have a spool of black & of white S-Lon Fire and I know that the 50yd spool will last me a very, very, very long time.
I've had the S-Lon for a while now, each time I use it, the dye comes off on my fingers! I do not like it and definitely will not buy it again! Beautiful pendant Stephanie!!
I wonder if some thread conditioner or beeswax would help? Obviously, it will/may increase the thickness so it would be best for larger than 15/0 beads. I hope it would prevent knots and still be usable. Thread is too expensive to waste. Just a suggestion. Beautiful design btw.
Most of the time it’s the color coming out of the holes as the thread goes through. There was one pearl that was a little chipped before I started but it didn’t affect the look of the piece so I left it 😊

I'm going to stick to my tried and true Fireline. I love the pendant. It will be on my ' to do ' list 😊
It's good to know what works for you! Glad you enjoyed the pendant 🌸
What a beauty Stephanie! Thank you for this amazing pendant design. I love it in all 3 colors but in red us my favorite ❤😊
You are so welcome! Red is definitely gorgeous 😊
I love your designs Stephanie, they are gorgeous.

I use the same. I go to my local bass pro shop get me a big spool for 25
Agree 👍 Hope your arthritis feels better soon!
Thank you!! That is what I had trouble with.. I thought it was just me.. 😮
You’re welcome! I’m glad I could help 🙂
Wow the pendants remind me of the medieval jewelry used by women…really nice Stephanie ❤️
Yes! I love medieval jewelry ❤️ I base many of my designs on this type of jewelry.
Thank you 🩷 Ditto about the
S Lon 😆 Loving the Fireline Thermally Fused Tough!
Just love you don’t care wonky needles

Beautiful ❤
Wow!!! Bellissimo!!! 😍
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful design! Isn't beadsmith who took fireline, repackaged it to beaders and made it a lot more expensive? I always resented that.
Thank you 🙏 Beadsmith did sell Fireline but I’m not sure if it was more expensive 🤷♀️
Very beautiful
Thank you!
I've had the S-Lon for a while now, each time I use it, the dye comes off on my fingers! I do not like it and definitely will not buy it again! Beautiful pendant Stephanie!!

I did try waxing with little success 🤷♀️ Glad you like the design! Thank you 🙏
Wow! 🤯😱😱♥️♥️♥️♥️
Очень красиво, спасибо.
Thank you 🙏
❤❤❤
Would waxing the thread help?
Tried - no help 😆
Interesting
Шикарная работа
Thank you 🙏
Çox qəşəng edirsiz əllərinizə saglıq ❤
Thank you 🙏
Knots: is it the thread?
❤❤❤💐💐💐🔥🔥🔥
Some of your beads have chipped their paint as you work. Makes me so mad when that happens.
