The best pitch in baseball? For my money, it's a Tyler Glasnow curveball. But the Tyler Glasnow nasty curveball is effective due to the way it plays off the Tyler Glasnow fastball. The Tyler Glasnow Pirates years were tumultuous. He was once a fixture on top prospect lists, but had to wait for the Pirates Rays trade to unlock his full potential. The Chris Archer trade has been unmitigated disaster for the Pittsburgh Pirates thus far, and the Tampa Bay Rays have reaped the rewards, gaining Tyler Glasnow, Austin Meadows, and Shane Baz for their efforts.
In this episode of Baseball Bits, a Foolish Baseball production, I was assisted by PitchingNinja in tracking down info about Tyler Glasnow's curveball, which I think tops the list of MLB best pitches. It's nasty. You can bet you'll be seeing all kinds of Tyler Glasnow 2019 highlights, as well as Tyler Glasnow 2020 highlights in this video, which is chock full of Tyler Glasnow strikeouts, as well as my own analysis and commentary. You have to bet the Pirates are regretting the Tyler Glasnow trade right now.

great video bailey! I like Glasnow a lot too, I was able to see him in person in 2018 in Boston against the Red Sox. He got roughed up in the first inning and then absolutely rebounded and was able to go 7 innings I think, which was when they were stretching him out into a starter after the trade. I also remember picking him up for my fantasy team after seeing a Jeff Passan tweet minutes after the trade that said "Note on the Archer deal for the Rays: Pitching coach Kyle Snyder is 6-foot-8 and a savant at helping pitchers understand and control their bodies. Well, Tyler Glasnow is a 6-foot-8 pitcher who struggles with repeating his delivery and throwing strikes. Perfect situation for him."
Seems to have worked. Looking forward to the next video!

3 years later that Archer trade really leveled off. Glas never put down a full season of work in Tampa, Meadows had one good year after 2019 and is out of affiliated ball, and Baz hasn't thrown a pitch in MLB since 2022.

I've watched most of your video, love them! Key to a hard to hit ball: movement, hands down. One pitcher to look out for is Dustin May. Look him up if you don't know. If he gets better at his command I could see him being a dominant pitcher in the mlb

It's unbelievable that you only have 1.27k subscribers. I didn't remember how many you had, so I glanced at it expecting a million at the very least. You do a fucking awesome job, my guy. If you enjoy it, keep it up. There's no way you don't blow up at some point. Maybe part of your issue is the average age of baseball fans and their aversion to using the internet, let alone going far enough to subscribe to TH-cam channels. Good luck buddy!

I had never watched Glasgow a ton and tuned in to game 5 of the ALDS. Was perplexed when Bergman drove that curve to right center in the first inning (we all found out he was tipping). Just an unhittable pitch when you don’t know what’s coming!
