...I Like! subscribed I was 12, turned 13 in Nov. '63, and just discovering Drag Racing, Always watched on TV whenever they were on. The sport was just in the early stages of receiving TV attention & popularity. It was a great time then. Can you imagine sitting BEHIND those Power Plants??
Dad was a dodge man back in those days, 56 dodge, 60 dodge pioneer with push button trans, 64 polara,....my first car was a Dodge Dart Gt 273 cu in, 4 speed -
Outstanding footage Calvin, you can certainly be proud of this one! 💪 How cool is it that this was 1963 & both Big and Conrad are still walking the Earth! Both are Heroes to me, so I am very grateful for that 👍
Back in the days when you could build a rail dragster at home in your 4 car garage. Now you need big time Corporate sponsorship and whoever has the most money usually wins.
So the AllStars are back. Not in Ohio four races at eldora and one race Fremont OH. The AllStars would run speedweek seven different tracks in seven days. high limit misses the mark by two races not counting the seven different tracks. Ihave personally have had the opportunity to catch several races years past. Not going to eldora for a Sprint car race. One to far away. two tony stewart debanked the track it sucks now good for Late Model racing so. Guess I'll be supporting anything but high limit.
I wish I could’ve been around for those days. Those cars are cool.
I agree!
Unfortunately you would be really old now
I wish I could have been there but I was -6 months.
Or I wish it was still like this, that way we wouldn't be that old.
You can be still. Go build a car and go race in your area
Great video. The good old days of drag racing.
Fantastic video! I went to my first Drag Race at Detroit Dragway in 1963! I was 6 years old at the time;-) I LOVED it!
🏁 Very Very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🏁

This was the error when they would spit the connecting rods thought the oil pan.
