My dad took me to a presentation that Dick Landy gave at the Wegge Dodge dealership in Pasadena, CA in the early 1970s. Was a big event for a 11 year old kid to meet a professional drag racer.

My Uncle, cousin, Dad and I went to the Supernationals at Ontario.
I remember it well.
The nitro racers were not to happy, that the shutdown area...had a left turn in it.
Funny Cars of the day could do it...but the fast dragster guys were not to happy about it. LOL.
