I remember my mum and sister talking about this performance, and how this bumbling, out of tune weirdo was for some reason on TV. Even when he doesn't want to be in the room he's the best person in it. Ryan's the greatest.
His performance of this on letterman was the real deal & it kicked ass, now that he has his own label he doesn't have to contend with this type of commercial horse shit. DRA rocks!
Gesture at 3:30 says it all, hahahaa. I don't blame him for being upset with the lights and having to sing to a track, one step closer to make-believe and not the rock n'roll attitude that dominates performers like Ryan.
why do british shows always make band perform to a track!? not saying anything against mr. adams and the boys, they're great, but aside from the vocals... this is allllll tracked. sigh.
The problem is not with the song or the band- it's the shitty TV show that they're on. "DEs and Mel" is a rubbish afternoon show in England. It's about as far from Rock n' Roll as You Can Get. I would be pissed off if I had a band that could play live because the TV sho wouldn't let them. Kills the energy totally!
This is a horrible daytime chatshow - I have no idea what he was even doing on there. I should point out it's not true that our shows always make bands perform to tracks, Jools Holland, Jonathan Ross & E4's Chartshow are the only music programmes on now and they're all live. Top of the Pops did, occasionally, have bands playing live, same with CD:UK - both gone now. They dealt mainly with the Top 20, which is pop, right? Let's face it, most pop artists aren't known for their live ability.
I like morrissey too. Lol. But great song and performance Ryan.

Yeah you can tell that the band was'nt even hooked up and ryan was either pissed or buzzed or both.
