I'd like to point out that, yes, definitely, without him Mexican regional music would be totally different, as well as traditional Japanese music, not to mention orchestral compositions and bands like Rammstein and U2, they'd be out of business without Em. I love how Eminem is so humble, when I was a kid I would get bullied. But Eminem doesn't care what ever the hell the haters say. I've looked up to Eminem for years. He made me build confidence. "Its okay to lose others, but don't lose yourself" -Eminem One of my favorite quotes.
This is the one song I played 19 years ago when I had a job interview... It was my "shot"... proud to say I'm going on 20 years here... a couple of promotions later... and at each of those interviews for the promotions I go back to this song and "moment". Never stop reaching for stars.
Totally agree. This song whenever I was to make a leap career wise, really got my adrenaline going and his Not Afraid got me through some really tough times. I remember playing these songs loud whenever I felt scared and alone, singing along to my newborn daughter. Gave me the courage to face the unknown. Now my teenage daughter appreciates his songs as well.
Without Eminem I don't even know where I'd be, This dude is gonna be 50 years old in 3 months and is still inspiring people through his music and words and his quotes, When I first listened to an Eminem song I instantly knew I'd be hooked on his songs, Eminem has saved me from my addiction and I'm glad he is still making rap music to this day and inspiring millions if not billions of people even to this day, This dudes legacy will never be forgotten since he has saved Hip Hop as a Genre, And when he eventually passes away there wont be an Artist that will come close to Eminem's talent and skill. “ I’ll probably never get the props I deserve” (Till I Collapse)…and here he is getting those props from people who do not even know what it’s like to struggle and what Lose Yourself means to him and what he has gone through to get to where he is today. WHAT A MOMENT FOR EMINEM! This is why he is the GOAT.
This song is so special in every possible way - one in a million - pure perfection. It causes a person to react almost involuntarily : the music, the words, the delivery is a complete experience. Thank you Eminem, for your gift to all of us.
The song has a sense of universalism - staying relevant, opportunity, anxiety, pressure, facing reality, haters, pain, fear. His songwriting skills combined with the visuals and Eminem's sheer energy is amazing. It is about his life.
I am German and have always liked his music. But since I have improved my English a lot, he is a genius for me. Unbelievable. Of course I don't understand everything, even for native speakers it's probably impossible. Lyrically just not comparable with other rappers. Almost a genre of its own. And I think his new songs are better than those "catchy" songs around 2010. He has these completely insane lyrics again, like at the beginning of his career. One or two bars sometimes have 4 different meanings that can be interpreted. But for non-native speakers all the lines with double or triple bottom are very difficult to understand. As I said, also for most native speakers, which is probably why his success is waning. He is too much of a genius for the mainstream hip-hop audience.
The crowd is weak, they’re witnessing a once in a life time opportunity millions of people wish to see Marshall at least once in they’re lives but never get the chance. If i was in the audience I would be standing up and lip rapping every word. 😳🙏🏾😭🙌🏾
Oh yes. This song, that film, was a moment in art/music performance history. Everyone in attendance knew that film was truly influential, and the song basically summed up not only the film character’s journey, but the artist’s struggle. It was brilliantly done, and we haven’t seen anything quite as uniquely special since then. I think it’s great that he came back to perform. Better late than never, and because he waited so long to make his appearance, an entire generation of people knew the lyrics for it, too. 🤩
Probably one the best songs in history. Amazing lyrics, phrasing, attitude and emotion. This always always gets me. Also I'd like to point out the crown reactions, they react like he's on his own concert full of fans but it's not. They are actors and industry people. It's an award show, and this is not the usual. They usually only applaud and that's it. Just simply magical and AMAZING.
The last verse starting with "No more games, ima change what you call rage, tear this m***** f****** roof off like 2 dogs caged" is simply phenomenal. Some of the best lyrics ever written.
@Milky hlo brother. It's not about language. English is not even my first language and there are million of songs in my country in my langauge but I still think "loose yourself' song on Eminem is for ages. It has all the elements. This song can hype up anyone and make u feel like you can do anything. Genres might be different as you seem like a dude who doesn't like rap/hip hop but this song is iconic
This to me is one of the best live performances ever. Considering where Eminem came from and the fact that he’s performing in front of the “elite” and has all of them moving and swaying to his every word.
Eminem is in ur room and talking to you “Look If you had One shot Or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted In one moment Would you capture it Or just let it slip? You own it, you better never let it go You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime” Listen him bro
This is the stuff that gives you goosebumps growing up with the music to experience nearly 20 years later to feel those goosebumps again. And today's pop stars wont have that effect in 20 years because shits backwards its sad
Same. Been a long time fan. Since Slim Shady. Funny I wouldn't hear Infinite until after the release of the Eminem Show. Could never find it. Back then we couldn't just look it up online tho. Gotta love the 90s and early 00s lolz.
It's laughable how people act like the music they had when they were growing up is so much better than the music they hear later in life. I guarantee you people 40 years ago said the same thing that you said now. There are a lot of great pop artists today. Get over yourself.
A disagree, most people in that room have been chewed up, spit on and booed off stage. They clawed their way to their one shot...and made it. That audience completely understands this song.
Feeling a song does not mean jumping up and down and screaming and reaching out to the artist. This song has a strong message that resonates with everyone who has had to sacrifice something to get another. The majority in the audience are seasoned artist and mature people who know how to appreciate art and talent when in front of it. The respect and appreciation is shown by the standing ovation that the audience offered at the end of his performance.

They all recognize him as one on the greatest rapper that ever came in to the business. Seeing everyone giving Eminem a standing ovation made me tear up a bit because they all are recognizing him and to also let everyone know that Eminem is not going anywhere at anytime soon. Besides ail the criticism, the backlash & everything else, it didn't stop him from making music & be one of the greatest of all time. This song is so special in every possible way - one in a million - pure perfection. It causes a person to react almost involuntarily : the music, the words, the delivery is a complete experience. Thank you Eminem, for your gift to all of us.
You are so right!
Genius idea
Not exactly, you can see his face. The mic pack kept hanging between his legs all the time😂😂
But he didn't let anyone feel that he's not comfortable
He’s the man among men
He’s the king among kings

How is it backwards
It's laughable how people act like the music they had when they were growing up is so much better than the music they hear later in life. I guarantee you people 40 years ago said the same thing that you said now.
There are a lot of great pop artists today. Get over yourself.
The only people in that room who truly felt that song were the ones who were ever inspired by it.
Yes!
