Yes!!! Tyranids Narrative Campaign!!! As a fellow Nids player who really likes seeing you play and always follow your content, I'm now super hyped. Especially because my 12k+ points of Nids follow a completely different idea, as the narrative behind the fleet started from a super small splinter of the Hive Fleet Behemoth, erroneously believed to be a different Hive Fleet because of the darker colours (although the discrepancy was simply caused by the surrounding Red Stars, which highlighted the red in darker tones and caused the blue to look more like a purplish black) and thus called Hive Fleet Praedetor, which survived and started collecting other similarly small splinters from all other Hive Fleets and a few more grown in secret on various planets thanks to The Great Rift, so every single unit is painted (and others are yet to be painted, because I'm a very slow painter) in a different way, forming an incredibly varied army, the Hive Fleet Superstes. Which means this is the only Tyranids Narrative Campaign I could never do "legitimately", it just wouldn't look the same.
Looks awesome! Oddly enough I love the bases the most. Perfect balance between looking natural and not distracting from the models. Great color choises as well!
Love it! I have a fairly large collection of my own (a mini from every casting of tyranid) and have been wanting to repaint the lot for a more cohesive feel. Good luck and I can’t wait to see the…. Evolution!!!
As a massive Tyanids fan, i'm so hyped for this!! Brilliant video - great inspiration for anyone interested in nids. Love your new paint scheme too!! :-)
Now, this is a huge step! I am truly amazed you did such a thing i am too curious to see where this is going! And i love the title of Hive Fleet Nihilus!
I am so stoked to see more narrative action from you! The Nids have always been hard to do much storytelling with, outside of the obvious Antagonist Faction. I would love to see how this Hive Fleet twists up and looks at the end. A great start, I like the green colors. I do admit, though, that the idea of a Hive Fleet named Nihilus that is NOT in Imperium Nihilus (the eastern half of the Imperium) is delightfully ironic. lol
I would love, another epic narrative campaign just like the Storms of Ixia . I love when you guys do narrative! Matt always creates, some epic stories.
That's a great colour scheme . love it !! Now my gripe is this .... Here I am with 4 "unfinished armies" ( always been a collector , little bit of a painter and rarely the gamer, really love the lore/universe etc) . I was going to utilize the Leviathan marines into my new Dark Angels and sell off/trade the Tyranids 👍...... But no😒....now you have peaked my interest into possibly keeping the Tyranids and start a flipping 5th army !!😲😳😧 .....😁😄 Looking forward to the updates and progress of your new Hive Fleet !!
This is great. I like this as a series idea. I look forward to seeing your nids in action in narrative campaigns even if i'm not super on board 10th. your videos got me through law school and now your getting me through actual practice. keep it up.
Those looks great! Would love to see more custom lore videos, a narrative campaign is really the best way to watch/ participate in. Maybe some tips on strengths/ weaknesses for individual units and their stratagems.
Bittersweet to see a lot of those models possibly end up permanently shelved and stored, would be a blast to have a crazy game with every bug on the table but god knows that'd be a lot of hard work seeing Dave do something similar with chaos! Farewell strawberries and cream beasties!
Damn! You go all in at once. I'd have started this new army using the new mini's that are coming out and only used any of the old mini's that where absolutely necessary.
Hey, this is really close to my own custom hive fleet :D The carapace is basically the same (though I'm a much worse painter) and the exoskeleton is a bit less saturated on yours (I do wraithbone->nazdreg yellow->seraphim sepia). But if I were to put them next to your new minis it'd be a lot like the difference between your different kraken interpretations :)
It would be interesting if the Astra Militarum were the first to combat Hive Fleet Nihilus(Did I spell that right?) And as the time goes by and as the Imperium begins to notice, more troops are sent to guard their flank. This would allow the new fleet to grow and be able to take on larger foes while also adding to the narrative. Take what you want from this, it's just an idea. I am excited for when the first narrative comes out!
Just started painting mine too. Had about 120 models and just got Leviathan too. I want to paint these fast so going all contrast paint. Black prime, heavy white dry brush. Then snake bite leather for main body, wildwood for armor, black for claws and skeleton horde for fleshy bits. Luminous green for eyes. Found I can paint 20 termagaunts in a day, which is about 95% faster then I usually do.
Business must be going great! Every time a new model pops up the screen all I hear is *CHA CHING!* Models and you had someone paint them.... holy crap.
Man, you and Dave, you guys remind my of my friend Rob. He got me into 40k back in the 90's. I had something like five armies back then, and had I still had the army I'd have loved to play my valhallan's against your nids.
Matt, as a fellow Tyranid horde collector of 15 odd years now (rogue trader, 2nd ed and some 3rd ed - there are many ways to create a unique swarm, going old school model wise is one) I would love to see you embrace some of the varying swarm types that hit planets at varying stages of the Tyranid invasions, that we were introduced to back in I believe 4th edition 40k, the Seeding Swarm, the Vanguard Swarm etc. Specifically, for your narrative campaign, I feel having a tailored army list around a Vanguard swarm hitting a heavily defended planet and maybe have them outnumbered but because it's a narrative you could centre a series of missions with combat patrol/kill team that if the Tyranids win or depending on how much they win or lose by,d epends on how much of the main swarm lands for whatever the finale ends up being and it could be anywhere from a desperate last attempt for a hive fleet now shipless ins pace to establish a foothold on a planet from which to slowly take it over in time to re-establish the swarm, through to the tyranids greatly outnumber the defenders and the defenders only hope, being vastly outnumbered model and points wise, is to take out the synaptic lynch-pins/all synapse in the swarm to destabilise it and allow for the planetary defense forces to hold out long enough for reinforcements to arrive and liberate the planet by pushing the Tyranids back. Avoiding space marines for the majority of these games and just embracing the every day Imperial Guardsman (yeah yeah Astra Militarum :p) and even having a mess of normal imperial citizenry with improvised weapons (you don't have to restrain yourself to GW model ranges here if you have access to civilians from other game systems - everyone is at threat of dying here, even kids with baseball bats are a thing when armageddon is essentially on your very doorstep) would add a lot to the flavour of this last stand endgame sort of mission. Probably the best part of it would be that you could do the series entirely separately to whatever narrative campaign you have going currently especially with an end of the world swarm where you have a lot more tyranids then you do now (heck you could even use your existing army which could pass as any deep galaxy punching splinter fleet - as a last stand tyranid fleet on the planet and they get wiped out and then a decades later, the psychic death screams of the fleet have alerted Hive Fleet Nihilus to the planet's location as a prime feeding ground and source of stronger genetic material to incorporate into the fleet to evolve new genuses (maybe this could be used as a segway into introducing the neurogaunts and barbgaunts into the fold as a working example of the narrative games progressing a hive fleet story line of evolution). Please though, have thi9s all available on youtube, even if you have it in the vault initially and release it a few months later to youtube - there's not much i the way of large scale tyranid swarm stuff on youtube and i5t is a massive disservice to the Hive Mind. Have a great day mate and enjoy your system breakky. :D

I have about 13,000pts of tyranids so can fully sympathise about needing more, I'd be interested to know if you are building around a specific core? I started by wanting at least 1 of every model/unit load out and grew from there. Looking forward to how this develops.

I have about 13,000pts of tyranids so can fully sympathise about needing more, I'd be interested to know if you are building around a specific core? I started by wanting at least 1 of every model/unit load out and grew from there. Looking forward to how this develops.
Where do I sign up to come fight???
The end of an era
With nids basically getting a range refresh it is a good time to redo a nid army.
I think you need a new space marines chapter to fight them.
Full chapter.
Triple harridan detachment is needed for new hive fleet
Why are the nids always the antagonists? When you understand the blessing of the four-armed emperor you will realise that the nids are the heroes :)
Hot take: you should split the old tyranid collection into smaller, 2000 point chunks and auction them off for charity
Damn, this makes me want to change from leviathan to a custom hive fleet.
Do a rendition of "A Tale of Four Gamers" from White Dawrf back in the day. Slowly adding to each new army and playing a campaign. Every new battle report relating to it do a recap report recapping the previous campaign bat reps along with updating us on who is winning the campaign.
Holy! That is a crazy army. Especially knowing what nids cost.
And don't forget, he didn't paint it himself either; so that's must have also cost a pretty penny.
@@cavemanbum What you rackon how much he spent on hit entire Tyranid army? 10k? He´s american right? So its even more expensive.
