@rywire I got a Honda Civic ek b16a Vtec 1997 model Problem that I noticed is that when I turn my ignition on fuel pump prime all the time (non stop ) and car starts perfect my understanding is that the fuel pump need to go off with a click it doesn’t do that.i just need help with having the fuel pump go on and go off again once relay clicks
Tqsm for your great information really helpful till i recover back my honda down pass one weak.Finally i found constant supply for main relay drop to 4volts and i fix back to 12volts frm 15Amp fuse box later all check light gone and i can start up engine well.My relay same numbering as urs too.tqsm sir🙏🥰💕
Wow new subscriber and a very clear explanation of how the relay functions . I own two Hondas and I had trouble with one and was a cracked solder joint on the board . Repaired board and no problems since . And yes I keep a spare handy . Thank you for sharing this very important function of each pin . 👍. Artie

Great video. I've got all of that working as you mentioned in the video but pin 7 (relay to fuel pump). I checked it with the red probe to pin seven and black probe to ground and turned the key on but still no volts reading. Did I do it wrong or I've got a stuffed up relay or something? Thanks
I just finished the swap on my 99 dx.. however I am not getting any power to wire #3 with ignition on.. with ignition off it has continuity as well with ignition on but no power.. ignition switch has power to all wires, main relay is good, ecu is good.. they have been tested on a different car.. I have 3 grounds on engine bay (transmission case, valve cover, and intake manifold) fuses are all good.. I’m am running the Rywire budget harness V2 with the Hybrid Racing conversion harness.. any ideas?
Hi is the immobiliser built in the main relay as well. Lost all the keys. Cut a blade/key, but won't start car. Do you know if a HONDA ACCORD 1992, 2.2, has immobiliser module. If so do you know where the immobiliser unit will be. Thanks.
Is it bad if u constantly pull it out to prevent theft ?? And is that relay grounded to the car ? Aski g so i dont have to constantly unscrew it just to pull it...can it just sit lose on side of glove box ??

Ive checked the blue relay and brown relay behind the glove compartment and they seem to be doing their job , please help

hello, thanks for the video. i have a Del sol vtec turbocharged. it starts perfectly even after parked for long time, but after around 20/30 minutes run i can hear a clicking coming from the relay and the engine hiccups. could this be caused by some old wire or something? thank you
Hi my Honda Civic 2.2 diesel the year 2007 mk8 is not going to sleep when I drove for less than 10 minutes it seems that the main relay is still energies until I switch the ignition on and off than the main relay will denergies any ideas what cause the main relay to stay energies
@@NateInSaTx sure . The oem Honda main relay dose 2 separate function. One fuel and one as your main power source. If you can find a wire diagram for the oem main relay you will see 2 different function. Hope this helped you

I did the test for ground and I didn’t have no beeping sound, I don’t know what else to do, my ecu is not turning on and my fuel pump is not activating and im not having check engine light on the dash, I even bough a new relay from jdi company and I still have no power on the ecu
No you don’t. The main things you need are the OBD1 Distributor and the ECU along with the MPFI wiring. You can even use your original injectors, as long as you keep the Resistor box.
Probably not, but it is the first thing to check for a crank no start. You can still crank the engine with a bad main relay but when they are bad you won't hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key.

So I could connect a defroster 12v to the fuel main relay as a kill switch at pin 5

There are a few companies now that make a Honda main relay adaptor harness to convert it to a regular automotive relay.

Do you know what could cause #6 to have no power during an attempt to start. All other slot tests match your video.
My 97 civic when I try to start it the horn blows and I have no power going to the starter what would cause that

Ground pin 2 on main relay and turn ignition on second position to see if ECU is on and fuel pump is priming.

Yes very alot..if you know how to solder you solder the points first before going out to buy one unless youre rich of course
