Just fitted your kit, bought from ebay to my 2002 Zafira. Its now done over 180,000 miles and I was having to double clutch or select 2nd before being able to get into 1st pretty often. The wife found it too much hassle and would use any other car but this. Getting the centre tunnel out was fun as my Haynes manual bought when the car was new only covers up to 2001. Two fixings in the footwell were well hidden, you have to remove 2 screws each side before you can part the plastics and find the remaining fixing on each side. If you have a centre arm rest slide the seats fully back and recline the drivers seat to get the tunnel out. Eventually got it out and found the old bush (grey cup) fell into pieces as I removed it. The small O-ring must have disintegrated years ago as there was no sign of it. The new part looks identical to the original, thoroughly cleaned the gearshift and fitted the kit. Wow, it's made my 16/17 year old gear change like it was when we picked the car up new. There's no slack whatsoever. I would recommend you put the car in neutral before disconnecting the gear selector cables as It's a pig to get to the mechanism in the engine bay for adjustment when refitting. I ended up reconnecting the cables approximately to the right length, starting the car & checking if I had neutral, although it was still a little clunky getting 1st and 2nd. Once confirmed I released the selector cable clips again. I pushed the U shaped pin into the gearstick to confirm it was in neutral and then did the cable clips up again, length had altered by a mm or two on the left hand cable, this time it gear selection was perfect. So glad I stumbled on your kit as I had been contemplating buying a new set of cables, which would have been hell to fit, about £120 and wouldn't have solved the issue by the look of it anyway. Thank you!
I've just refurbished mine. Feels much better. A little extra tip: To restore the springyness which returns the stick to the centre, add a small square spacer into the square channel that houses the spring, only needs to be a few mm thick, this will essentially increase the strength of the spring and restore the feel.
Good video! - I also need a video how you dismount the shown selector box unit in the car. - Further I think that the repair kit also should contain the white angled side to side linkage, (where the rod goes through) and the smal bushes on both the side to rod and the frorward/back rod. All these parts are very worn in my car. Best regards Jens
This is the best video!I have an Oldsmobile Alero (sold as a chevrolet in the netherlands where i bought it.).It has the same linkage. I always had shifting peoblems, plastic stickiness.I'm definately gonna try repairing it.Thumbs up!
Need mine doing been looking up the process before I go for it. You can make it look very easy on a table, getting it out onto the table makes it a little bit harder then just "flip it over and remove the clips" easier said then done while it's inside the vehicle

musculita x what you described is how my gear changes feel, I changed this part in the video and it’s the same, inspect the selector on the gearbox were the cables attach, I’ve noticed there play on mine, the fix is to get a new nylon bush, google F23 nylon shift bushing, I’m hoping a new one of these will cure my stiff / notchy gear changes
@@Litesnip2022 Thanks for that , tho I opened the whole "console" in the middle of the car and on mine I don't have something like this 🤦♂️ which is silly... , I'll have the gearbox oil changed soon to see if it'll solve it, also the model of the gearshift mechanism for s different , in the middle it's held by two black "rings" and the stick attached to a metal bar that goes straight to the gearbox... I probably have to have it inspected 😅😅
musculita x the nylon Bush I’m on about is on the gearbox in engine bay, Changed mine today, but I if I’m honest it hasn’t made much difference to the stiff gear changes, It’s removed the play I had on the gearbox selector (gearbox end but nothing else, but What I have noticed today is if you move the gear stick side to side I noticed movement in the white side to side part that the pin goes through, These was about 2-3 mm movement before it actually moved the part, I replaced everything in this video 2 years ago and the ball joint Bush on mine is still perfect there no movement in that at all, But there is definitely some play on that pin before it actually moves and that was actually replaced also 2 years ago, I’ve now ordered a new metal pin off eBay and the bloke says its a tighter fit, I’ll post a video for you to explain what I mean, th-cam.com/video/fyA5hDIGLbk/w-d-xo.html

This kit worked perfectly in my USA 2009 Pontiac G5. Thank you so much. The shifter no longer has any slop and returns to center beautifully
Hi there, thank you for letting us know! We will let our US supplier know so they can list it for Pontiacs too. - Georgina X8R Ltd

In fact, you could add a square spacer to your kit! Free tip there ;)
how much did the kit cost ?

This appears very similar if not identical to the one on a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire/Chev Cavalier. Are these the same parts?
these are also used in the US Chevy Cavaliers and Pontiac Sunfire's
I have followed this video. Changed the bush now gear lever won’t self centralise in neutral. Any idea?
