Yeah going through the Firewall is Definitely the way to go
You Already have an access hole from your Trailer Brake Controller
The New Light wire appears to be already getting too "pinched" in the door

Look good product, very good add. For 22 inch that s a very good one . Clean installation, maybe a run the wire switch to the firewall for more safe way... but anyway. You have a lot of light now 👍👍👍

I just picked up a 14 GC Limited with ALL the options including the trail rated badge and the ecodiesel. Super excited to see what it can do.

5D led laser light bar is cool

Very cool! But try to find a way to get the wires into through a hole near the steering column. There should be a group of wires going into a rubber disc like area. Then trace under your dash. I did the same as you and ran wires through door jam. Got water when it rained. Love your show!

Hey man. Really appreciate the work you guys do for the WK2 community. I’ve got a 2011 with the HEMI as well as a gobi rack. (Like the old one you ran) Looking into lighting options as well.
Just a suggestion not a critique I’m no professional when it comes to off-roading or vehicles but you might want to keep an extra eye on your coolant temp. Seems in the video like your blocking quite a bit of airflow. With that said though, I’ve seen quite a few others running a similar setup on their WK2. Not sure if it’s an issue just wanted to reach out and maybe put it on your radar.
Keep up the great work and content!

That is one stellar way to block off air flow to the radiator

I can see why one would think that, but I've got a similar set up on my 2018 WK2 and just drove 3500 miles to Baja Sur, Mojave and back with no issues.

Did I enjoy this video? Not really because I am completely unable to install anything on my Jeep! What I did enjoy though, Brad, is seeing you without your ubiquitous cap! 😂 But, kidding aside the difference this light bar makes is like night and day! (Pun intended)

Hey,,Just curious how your wiring is holding up running it through the door rubber? Still doing good? No breaks or shorts? Preciate the feedback..

You're going to want to run that wire into the cab properly. Yeah, yeah, I know it's a total pain to find a pass-through point, make a hole, and properly grommet and seal it - I hate doing them, too!
But running the wire across the weather stripping like you are, aside from not being sealed... water is going to follow that wire straight in. This is why wires leading into your house from the outside should have a "drip loop" just before it goes into the house - the water will want to drip along the wire and go right inside.

I've got rigids on my rack, can you comment on how these compare? (especially considering the price)

    • @ProdigalOverland
      @ProdigalOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

It seems to be good quality. I don’t have experience with rigid light bars. But the auxbeam doesn’t seem cheaply made. Obviously I’m not sure about long term use.

You can clean up the wiring by going through the firewall if you plan to keep it. This video shows how m.th-cam.com/video/kvC-hCmfi9w/w-d-xo.html

Looks like you may be starving the radiator. Lol. What a disaster wiring job.
