Such an informative video! Would have liked to see you also cover making sure the blade is centered so the moving blade doesn’t go further to one side or the other when you’re using corners to fade.

I personally like to have all three blades at my station faper, taper & fade blades. I have yet to try the Babyliss wedge blades. Plan on trying those next.

They are all capable of doing a haircut but some do different things better than others and can help improve your haircutting!
I did a cut today with the fusion blade and man I wasn’t used to it cutting that low! The open fade felt lower then the tape blade. Definitely have to get used to it!

Great video bro! I was wondering, how often do you have to change the regular (taper blade) &/or cutting blade on the x-ergos and how much use on a scale of 1-10 do you put into that blade?
(Asking bcause the gammaplus site says they recommend changing the dlc fusion blade every 1-4 months) but says nothing on the other blades, and I'm looking to get the regular taper blade.
Honestly I don’t hardly ever change blades. I switch clippers often so don’t notice it being an issue. I’d follow their recommendation and I’d imagine it’s the same for all their blades

I tried the faper blade and really wanted to like and it seems everyone is making that style lately but I like the way taper blades fade more. I use the faper with a ceramic staggertooth blade to blend out my last line but that’s it.

Sean, for the average hobby cutter on friends and family.. i have the magic clip with fadeblade and it sometimes snag, as you mention.
Would you go with the 1006 taper wahl blade or the SC fusion / taper blade on the magic clips?
Either one. The fusion is my go to now but haven’t put it on any wahls. The ole faithful 1006 always did me fine 👌🏻

I recently replaced the fade blade on my babyliss clipper and since then, it doesn’t cut the same. The cutting blade is just bad. Any suggestions to mod it? Thanks brother 👍🏾
Sometimes resetting it will fix that. Otherwise may need a new cutting blade

Ok I’ve always wonder about the fusion blade a good reason to buy another clipper with a fusion blade I could sure put it to use a I normally use a fade blade to remove those hard to remove lines especially on dense hair after shaving

Have always used a fade blade but I’m planning on throwing a taper blade on my magics and a fusion on my gamma boosted, not sure whether to use stretch bracket or not on the boosted
Fusion with the stretch gives the open closer to a taper blade and closed like a fade
Not quite as open as a taper though? Can you still work under the taper with fusion with stretch?
I use a taper blade on my seniors to set guidelines and debulk and then use my fade blade on my magic clips to blend the guidelines out

One question so original corded Andis masters I have the blade on my JRL now so that’s a fade blade ? Does the masters make a taper blade or is a master blade a masters blade ? I see they have different master options I see #22 and #28 for replacement options. Let me know your insight please. I will follow what you tell me to do I base what I do mostly off you brotha.
I don’t know a ton about andis but they do make a taper blade. The 22 and 28 is how many teeth there are on the blade

That's true, it's practically just as thin when you put it side by side.
Will the fade blade also rattle the guards if zero gapped or just the taper blade ?? Wanting to switch to a fade blade on my pair as that’s my preference but want to be able to zero gap them all the way without a problem as I feel that’s the best advantage of them is they cut so close zero gapped which lets me get a super clean blend . Also Very informative straight to the point video🔥

Can you mix and match the top and bottom of blades? I want two different colors so I can see where the actual cutting blade is. I just started cutting so it’s hard to see where the cutting blade is when the lever is open. That white cutting blade you have is probably the best for contrast on dark hair right? Can I put that under my gold babyliss pro wedge blade?
It depends some blades are interchangeable but not all. Would just have to try

Hey bro, I just bought the Babyliss trimmers and it kept tugging me when doing my neck. I Checked on the alignment and I oil them up too and still snags. Not sure if I need a new blade or what. Or just sharpening it?
Just needs to be adjusted right. Try it a few times until you get it where it doesn’t snag
That fusion blade seems similar to the wedge blade that came on my lopros
I wouldn’t say fusion is like the wedge. It’s more like a fade blade with the grooves from a taper blade

Hey Sean if you see this- If taper blade no guard open is 3mm that would make it equivalent to a one guard closed as is labeled on the guards. However if a fade blade no guard open is equivalent to a half(as it should be in the wahl system) then that would mean a fade blade no guard open should be about 1.5mm not 2.5 mm. 1/2 guard=1.5mm. Please let me know if this is correct. If so that would mean that a fade blade open blends into a 1/2 guard and a taper blade open blends into a 1-like the Andis masters.
No a half guard plus the blade equals more than 1.5

Hey man. Great content! Been cutting my own hair for 20 years but did my first bald fade on a friend last week. He liked it.. I had problems with the loprofx battery draining so i returned them. Ive got 2 babyliss fx boost+ coming soon. Going to put a taper blade on one and the other, should I keep the fade blade or will a s|c fapor fit? OR have you tried out the MIM blade yet? Can’t find a gamma/Stylecraft taper blade online anywhere. I want to put a taper blade on my rebels. Will a babyliss taper blade work if I put the regular bracket back on and take off the stretch bracket?
Yes any Wahl/Babyliss blades will work. Check gamma and stylecraft website. And usually Fort Worth barber supply carries them as well

Taper blade for sure! More forgiving
The fusion blade is really a fade blade its super thin even thinner than a wahl fade blade. Only difference is the ridges on it, great for the skin line, but cuts very short and unforgiving.

what if you put the stretch bracket on the wahl senior with its wahl back blade and ceramic cutting blade? will it extend to a 3mm from a 000?
also at 7:30, can i still do regular haircuts with that sc blade? like if i throw on a 1 or 2 guard, will it be effective in cutting hair cleanly with that taper blade?
I don’t know the exact measurements. It all still cuts the same just different blades depending on if you want your closed clipper shorter or open clipper longer

It is thicker and has a bevel so if you were to cut side by side to a fade blade it would be longer

I personally don’t really use fade blades. But that is what they’re each better for. A taper blade doesn’t really take the skin line out, but the open section is longer and makes some of the rest of the fade easier

In prison I cut hair with comb and razor so the regular chamillion fade blade on my babyliss is still like a luxury compared to that. Works pretty good. I may have to try the taper blade though. Great video bro. Which taper blade would you recommend for my babyliss lo pro??!
All the taper blades are pretty similar. I use Babyliss on Babyliss, gamma on gamma, etc.

I just purchased the faper blade to put on my gold magic clips. The fade blade on the wall seems to have nearly identical dimensions to the faper. Is there really a difference? Or is the stylcraft fade blade just so thin that the faper is middle ground between stylcrafts fade and taper?
It’s pretty close to the same but the faper has ridges on it to be more like a taper blade

@Seancutshair yeah. That's the part that confused me. I bought the faper to get smoother blends. The saw it was almost identical to the fade blade. What I did notice is that the flat surface of the regular fan blade has increased tension when sliding across my finger. While the ridges on the paper blade reduce the tension and gives it a smoother stroke. Hopefully that translates on my next cut. Which will be a while since I'm a home Barber who only cuts my family's hair. LOL. I appreciate the reply. Keep up the great work

I changed the blade on my seniors for a gamma taper blade and my clippers turn off randomly now and won’t turn back on until I connect them to power. Any ideas?
Make sure their oiled well and that it’s not on too tight. Sometimes if it’s too tight and can’t move freely enough they might shut off. Never heard of that on a senior but on other stuff. That’s what I’d try
@@Seancutshair it turned out to be the tomb45 battery. I swapped the oem to the tomb45 when I changed the blade. I changed it back and it worked fine throughout my cut today.

If the master blade is a true faper blade then is it worth modding my wahl instead of buying the gamma fusion blade?
I don’t understand. The master has a taper or fade blade. Fusion / taper is totally different
I just got troll clippers and I took that top blade off to clean and the cutting blade came off too. When I put it back to how I thought it was now they are crazy loud. I pulled it off and flipped it and it was still crazy loud. Not sure how to reinstall this blade. I’m not a barber, just someone that stumbled onto your page when I needed some new clippers.

Can the masters andi blade be put on a. Wahl with two screw clipper like a senior?
I been curious to either get a setup with the wahl staggered blade and an andis still blade ontop ( or maybe a third party blade that is just like the andis that would fit the wahl)

Get the andis master and see if I can put the wahl crunch blade under it’s still blade ( or find a staggered blade that works with andis master)
I guess I’d learn towards doing this on a senior type trimmer

I don’t care for the staggered cutting blade. Honestly didn’t notice the difference. Definitely prefer the Wahl guard system over the andis purple guards
Not trying to sound like a butt head but the taper blades when zero gapped are closer to 2mm-1.7mm open and about 0.7mm-1mm closed. I know this because I used a digital caliper to get the measurements. What I did was place one side of the caliper on the tip of the moving blade and the other on the outside of the still blade. Take it with a grain of salt, results will vary but you can get pretty good results to help you with your haircuts. Awesome videos brotha blessings.
Yeah of course it can vary depending on how it’s gapped. Just stating the measurements listed on the blades
