- Today I wanna show you guys how a working ESC can be measured on an oscilloscope and at the same time, I want to show you this nice budget-friendly 4 channel, 1GSa/s, 250 Mhz, PC USB oscilloscope from Hantek.
I feel that for the price is hard to beat it.

Again an Excellent video. I myself actually designed a digital oscilloscope back in 1997 for use in computers(built-in ISA bus version because of speed). Cutting edge tech back when, and still relevant for sure. The modern USB Scopes like the one Livyu just presented will be SUCH a treat for your toolbox, even if you are an just a little advanced hobbyist. Loved this @Livyo FPV :-)
Very nice introduction video, thank you! I hope in the future you do a deeper video into oscilloscopes. Cheers
Thanks for sharing 👍 Test equipment has come along way since I did my electronics training. The first digital oscilloscope I ever saw cost approximately $100 000. $200 is pretty amazing for this amount of tech.
great video at the time that i got my eye on one that i saw on amazon and i want to get me one and learn on how to used it and get the inf that i need when i repair well im learning and i watch ur videos i think they have lots information thank u .
Great video thanks:)
good job
Hi, does this oscilloscope only store the data signal on the screen or does it store all the samples from the beginning
Does it have any serial decoder/protocol decoder features?
Another gadget that I don't really need but now want 😅 Would be cool if you could get your hands on a Fettec ESC and see if it really produces real sine wave output like they claim, haven't seen anyone verify that 🙂
Well not "real" but it does look way closer to reality.
Does this scope use the same ground for all channels?
I’ve always wanted to see a Fettec ESC on an oscilloscope
thanks for the video. I was just wondering if, at this price point, it is not better to go for a "classic" true DSO. Seems to be really expensive for "only" usb scope. Maybe a comparative review would be a good idea for another video.
Actually these are pretty cheap 😅
I wouldn't expect too much in regards of compliance with the spec.
USB scopes from well known manufacturers easily cost you over 1000 € if you want 4 channels and 200 MHz bandwidth.
The Hantek 6254BD only comes in at 285 €, has "250 MHz" Bandwidth and a signal generator.
I will buy one, just because they are pretty affordable, i need a new scope and don't really want to spend much money yet.
So for me it's kind of a "well sure looks good, we'll see how it actually performs and in the end 285 € isn't that much wasted, since it clearly can do something"
edit:
also normal dso's with display always cost a few hundred bucks more than usb scopes with comparable specs from the same manufacturer.
HI, Nice Review! Is it capable to measure 100mbit 100BaseT signals?
I will be nice if Hantek makes an affordable Signature/ Curve Tracer.

The first several minutes make up a tutorial on why an oscilloscope is useful. If I watch a review of a 2021 Toyota Camry, I don't expect to have to sit through several minutes of why a car is useful. I consider that a waste of our time. After sitting through that part of the video, I came to the conclusion that this is one of those videos which takes up a lot of time to say very little, and I decided to not watch the rest of it. My time is too valuable.
